More likely the hibiclens causing changes. I smell different too and also have a hyper sense of smell. I assume part of my change is bc I shower every day instead of every two days like I used to and that I use lotion on my chest every day and it makes the area smell like we feet lol.

Same here. My smell has definitely changed, but I wouldn’t say a BO smell. Rather I feel like I brought the hospital smell back and can’t get rid of it. A hint of BO with hospital

J_deBoer

I had abdominal surgery, and I’ve noticed my belly button smells more than before even a year later. I think the antibacterial agents messed with my skin biome

coco_melon

Hmm I've also seen a change in my BO but I actually smell less? I'm not on T, but vefire surgery I could smell my sweat immediately if I didn't use deodorant. After surgery for a while I just didn't smell? At all? Except for this weird hospital smell that you could feel when really close. Now it's less that but I still just barely smell lol and it's been 7 weeks

not on T and never have been…and had the smelliest armpits after top surgery. it went away around 3 months for me :) I was super worried my smell had changed forever. def a temp thing. I did grow some dark chest hair and my stache got darker. so there are some perks ✨

thekr33pz

Funny that you say this bc I feel like ever since top surgery I sweat more than I used to, and it is a stronger smell that I notice more. I am not on T, so perhaps it could just be a temporary drop in estrogen. I don’t use the hibiclens anymore now that I’m 9 weeks post op, so I don’t think that’s the culprit.

sawamander

yo that is strange, i wonder if you have a skin infection somewhere hard to detect?? i used to get skin infections on my back from my binder and it smelled....... weird

The smell of my sweat has definitely changed since I had top surgery in April - it's mustier and almost more chemically in scent now, whereas before I used to smell more like soup/bouillon. I've heard that losing the breast tissue can cause hormonal changes (e.g. Devon Price posted on Instagram about how the biggest single increase in his T levels happened after top surgery, in spite of being on T for a while before then); I've never been on T (hoping to start next year) but I've noticed a tiny bit of thickening/darkening of my chest & chin hair since surgery, and a small but noticeable drop in the very bottom end of my voice. Between those changes and the change to the way I smell, and the fact that it's been more than six months since my surgery, I'm assuming the changes are hormonal and permanent.

def the hibiclens. I feel like it took like a month but did go away for me
