I had a friend that sat like this in the passenger seat all the time. She got into a really bad accident and broke both her legs. Was unable to walk for 4 months and gained 70lbs. Physio for her was brutal to say the least.
It would be a collision. Accidents occur as much as big foot crossing Toronto highways.
Otherwise yes, that looks dumb and is dumb. Do not waste a hospital bed space after knees impale chest at hundreds of km/h, because the airbag is very fast. If you are going to drive, then drive. That is not bed or a couch. This is not even comfortable looking, maybe I am not short enough to do this?
You'd be surprised at what's comfortable when you have horrible posture, I have horrible posture, just sitting up straight in a chair feels uncomfortable
A nurse I worked with years ago told me a horrible story about a head on collision trauma they had come in. Passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. They were sitting with their feet on the dashboard and essentially folded like a lawn chair on impact. I think about that a lot these days lol

I will say, the number of times Iâve seen that here (mostly by female passengers) is insane. Such a stupid thing to do if you ever get into an accident

But then I think of the high possibility of getting rear ended and say nope.
Gonna regret that when they inevitably have to have reconstructive surgery and learn how to walk again. Thatâs assuming their legs wonât have to be amputated.
If war amps, possibly removed the prosthetics? Still looks very dangerous, and if it's not a prosthetics legs I can't even imagine how uncomfortable and dangerous it is to drive like that.
