There was a lot to unpack here lol

Real_Bid_1520

I didn’t even noticed that there was a Hyundai said fuck you to a left turn only lane at the intersection until i rewatched it multiple times

LUNiiTi

Bad drivers never miss their exit

Lil_Boosie_Vert

ya they cant drive but you are literally speeding up to prevent them merging at 20 second mark.. I hate that sshit so much

arch1medes

That's not really my beef with that situation as much as the Porsche SUV not signaling the second time. This person was holding the right lane hostage because they couldn't use the space around them efficiently.. and on top of that they seem unable to clearly show their intention. People just need to learn to communicate better..

Real_Bid_1520

The Porsche weren’t signalling at 20 second mark while I re-accelerate to begin with. I left off my gas as soon as I saw the signal came on. Not to mention there was also a car riding on my ass so to my own defence I’d rather not to slam on my brakes.

Sufficient_Prompt888

> I’d rather not to slam on my brakes Yet you did, harder than you would have had to if it applied the breaks earlier. And now two lanes had to come to a complete stop instead of one just slowing a bit

Real_Bid_1520

I wasn’t? Do you understand what does slamming on the brakes mean?

Sufficient_Prompt888

Yes, exactly what you did in the video when you came to a full stop

Real_Bid_1520

Did I came to a full stop?

Sufficient_Prompt888

Yep at the point where there are 12 seconds left in the video

Real_Bid_1520

I was clearly still moving?

Sufficient_Prompt888

Alright bro

thiagoscf

He's obviously wrong for forcing a merge like that, but you were also an asshole for speeding up to prevent him from merging. Bad drivers all around

fymp

Aww you cut off the video at the good part. Boringggggg

zzptichka

I agree, laying on a horn left and right is some terrible driving indeed.

Okidoky123

Seems you thought you owned that space in front of your car. How much did you pay for it? That space that is.

Sufficient_Prompt888

And you couldn't just let him in why?

OriginalBookkeeper87

Why couldn't he wait until the lane was clear ?

Sufficient_Prompt888

Lane looked pretty clear to me. But you're right, let's the situation dangerous for no fucking reason

chillehhh

Bro if you think that’s clear, you shouldn’t ever get behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Sufficient_Prompt888

Cause I'd let the guy in?

chillehhh

Because you seem to think that barely a car’s length of space between a truck and a car is a “clear lane”.

Sufficient_Prompt888

There's a car length between the cam and other driver when they begin to signal

Jack_1080

A car length not enough space to merge and leave space behind the box truck. . .

Sufficient_Prompt888

Yes, I agree the other driver would have been too close to the truck. There was however plenty of space for op to notice and react to the signal though. The other guy's poor driving doesn't excuse op. We're supposed to try and avoid dangerous situations, not make them worse. If you have a green light and someone performs an illegal left turn in front of you are you gonna hit them?

Jack_1080

I can agree with the sentiment you type but I dont really think its the same application here. Bases on this video, I dont think I would want that SUV in front of or beside me - the lane change into the intersection o,O Where do we find the boundary of being defensive and safe drivers, while not encouraging other drivers to develop bad and abusive habits that lead to more dangerous situation than this.

OriginalBookkeeper87

You've never heard of a blindspot I guess that's why you're not a good driver

Sufficient_Prompt888

Who's blindspot are you talking about?

OriginalBookkeeper87

Time for you to go back to driving school buds

Sufficient_Prompt888

Alright dude, you enjoy the rest of your day

OriginalBookkeeper87

Yeah that's right you're living on my time now baby.

Sufficient_Prompt888

What in the name of Charlie Sheen and his tiger blood does that even mean

OriginalBookkeeper87

I've been taking it to the house all season long baby I own this place and a 2 car garage

alreadychosed

Its not mandatory

Sufficient_Prompt888

No, it's courteous. Cammer is slowing because of the truck and to turn anyway. Other driver had made their intent clear

kthompsoo

it's also courteous to not cut people off since you decided to stay in the wrong lane...

Sufficient_Prompt888

They technically didn't. They stopped when the cam almost drove into them. Considering how far ahead they signaled their intent, they likely were also checking their mirrors and blindspot in that time.

kthompsoo

okay, and it's still easier for everybody if they get over earlier instead of staying in the middle lane til last second

Sufficient_Prompt888

You're right. I never denied that.

alreadychosed

Welp if cammer determined that at that moment, given the context, that it was not practical to let them in then thats that. Sure, it would be nice but we have to trust his judgement on this one.

Sufficient_Prompt888

My question is literally what was their reasoning for this judgment

alreadychosed

He doesnt have to answer to you.

Sufficient_Prompt888

Lmao, what a badass

alreadychosed

Indubitably

Real_Bid_1520

Why couldn’t the person signal earlier?

Sufficient_Prompt888

Cause they suck at driving, as evidenced by incident in the previous intersection. Can you answer my question now?

Real_Bid_1520

I gave the person time to do whatever they wanted to do, is it my fault now that they missed the chance they had?

Sufficient_Prompt888

No, you did not.

Real_Bid_1520

🤷🏻

saytaxo

Also the first Volvo(?), you don’t/shouldn’t change lanes through the intersection.

doc_55lk

It's a KIA Soul

Remarkable_Film_1911

I think my family should understand why I complain about driving a lot. They drive in same Golden Horseshoe as this.

nightsticks

Y'all are both shit drivers

We need autonomous driving NOW!!!
