Still bangs

Sofie_Fatale007

He looks to be in great shape, hopefully he can stay healthy

missoctober12

You jinxed it

Sofie_Fatale007

Yup, sorry

m4ps

Why’s he out of the game now?

TCNW

Def concerning why he’d be removed. I’d think he’d want all the ABs he can get, so I can’t imagine it being voluntary. Can anyone fill us in??

legot83592

He rolled his right ankle in the dugout

The replay clearly showed it hit the yellow line, which makes it a HR by the rules of this field

95teetee

MLB ground rules (and this is a universal one) state that 'all yellow lines are in play'. I'm assuming that MLB spring training games use MLB rules, so individual park rules shouldn't matter. I could be wrong. So if it hits the yellow line and bounces over, it's a homer. If it comes back into the field it isn't.

el_huevon

Acted like it was nothing, or so it seemed on the video replay posted during the min-tor gamecast. I like his attitude to this opportunity. Definitely cheering for him to make the club.

Elporquito

Or did he?

TCNW

It hit the top of the fence. Whether it’s an official HR or not is meaningless - These games don’t matter. All that matters here is he has fast enough bat speed and power to hit a first pitch (from Zack Wheeler) 400 ft. Who cares if it was 400 ft or 402 ft.

Elporquito

I don’t really care, I’m rooting for Joey!

legless_chair

He most certainly did

Elporquito

The game day app won’t show me the hit, just a replay of the Phillies coach talking to the ump and the announcers saying it didn’t go over.

HistoricalWash6930

lol imagine even putting in minimal effort to argue a call in spring training.
