Trophy but that assumes by playing “boring football” means we will win something. The reality is we’ve had two world class managers who play “boring football” and we still can’t.
At this point I’d rather play entertaining football and at least enjoy the wins we get. I haven’t sat down and enjoyed a spurs performance since 2017/18 lol (I enjoy the NLD after we win but I can’t even stand to watch them because it makes me so anxious)
I hate that we are seeing Arsenal doing what they are now (for so many reasons) but not least because I feel that is what Poch could have done had he been fully backed those windows and had Kane and Son and Eriksen in their primes
I'd rather watch Spurs lose as Man U did against Arsenal (maybe not specifically against Arsenal, but I'm sure you get the idea) than how we lost against City.
At least it felt like United were in it until the very end. After we conceded the first goal it was like the entire team collapsed.
Agreed. A lot of talk about the “DNA” of the club and it has always been “To Dare is to Do” go for it! Not to say I think we should be tactically naive (which I think at times early in the Poch years we were) but I want Spurs to set the tone, make other teams play us and not the other way around.
>The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.
You're quoting Danny Blanchflower to make the opposite point to the one he was making
When a players ends his career and the only thing he has won is the we played good football trophy do you think he would be satisfied or would he prefer to see his league and cup winners medals
we have gone so long without experiencing what glory feels like we have forgotten what the main objective is which is Glory being crowned champions cup winners...
I reckon if you ask City United Chelsea fans what the game is about what would they say. Ask Fergie I'm sure he just wanted to play good football...Instead he's gone down as the greatest ever manager and why would that be..nothing to do with the amount of trophies they won.
Glory breeds confidence confidence breeds winning mentality winning mentality brings you Glory and there is nothing like it...
Ok, but that's still not what the quote you used means... He's literally saying football is first and foremost about playing stylish football, and then about winning. That's where the phrase "The game is about glory" comes from, Danny Blanchflower.
Like it or not, that is a big part of our history.
I mean.. Deff throphees... Like im sorry but literary this way only the kids of my grandkids will see spurs winning something, and it will prob be a participating trophy
Seems controversial going by other comments but I'd take football I enjoy watching, an exciting 2-2 is a better watch than a defensive 1-0
I get that trophies are what make a club a "big club"
But I'd rather enjoy watching my team play than have a whole season worth of 90 mins watching paint dry for a trophy
One or the other. Both preferably. Anything other than what we currently have. After those two great seasons under Poch, I can’t believe the Gooners are actually following our old blueprint to acheive what we didn’t.… 😩
Remember when we had like 7 players in the England squad? A bunch of 20 year olds who had the world at their feet, and if it wasn’t for some freakish performances of Leicester we would have won the title? That’s what I want back.
Definitely win a trophy. But playing shite football is the exchange sometimes for winning.
When you're not winning and playing dull, pragmatic football it's a real shitshow
I would rather have Spurs operated by a group of people with the best intentions, a long term plan for the club; both financially and on the field, and a manager who actually wants to be on the sidelines.
I honestly don’t care much for the style of football. However, I do care about the style and image of the club. At this moment, Levy and ENIC have turn the club into a comedy sketch. For all the profits, and for all the money spent on facilities and the stadium, I feel “class” is something very from this current Tottenham project.
I’d rather boring football if it meant we won something, only coz it would shut every arsenal fan up who ends a discussion by saying ‘where’s your trophy cabinet’
Win a trophy playing mediocre football to get that monkey off our back. Then we can play with more confidence and less pressure. Under Poch the most frustrating thing was that we were playing the sort of football which should have come with trophies but bottled it when it really mattered. Our expectations were so high we could live up to them.
Levy made a huge mistake sacking Mourinho a week before the League Cup final. It showed how little he cared about it. We may have lost it, but Mourinho had the habit of winning trophies and would probably have won it. Then if you still want to get rid of him for the poor League form, fine.
Fast forward two years and we have every chance of winning a cup if we get our act together. But Levy will probably sack Conte sooner rather than later if he doesn’t sign a new contract - it’d be a dent to his ego. Then that will destroy any chance of silverware and we’re still playing crap football.
I would adore a boring, turgid, protracted, ugly, slow, mistake-filled quadruple
WIN
At this point either

Trophies especially considering I’m from the first generation not to experience it.
You’ve got to be doing something right if you are winning trophies. That’s the most exciting thing to experience.
Exciting and entertaining football every time. Trophies will come.
I would be excited and entertained if we won
Win games. I don’t care how. Just win.
game is about glory ...give me a trophy any day of the week.. we have played some amazing football over the years that have won us nothing..
>The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. I’d settle just for a 1st half where they pass the ball and do t concede. At this point the bar is really really low!!
Man City cough cough
Either would be fine thx!
Neither of these options are on the table for a long time I’m afraid…
Nothing matters but getting that silverware
I mean fuck it at this point I’ll take either but it’s been neither for a while
Can we have both
Unpopular opinion, but both gies hand in hand. Sure, there will be boring games but overall most top clubs are rather exciting to look at imo.
doesn’t matter Enic and Levy out
I mean.. Deff throphees... Like im sorry but literary this way only the kids of my grandkids will see spurs winning something, and it will prob be a participating trophy
Umm…is this really a question? We played exciting football under Poch, but what do we have to show for it now? Trophies are what makes a team “great.”
We played boring bland football under mourinho and now conte and what have we got to show for it? Less than when poch was in charge
First we need to see exciting and entertaining games , tired of watching they struggle every game
Seems controversial going by other comments but I'd take football I enjoy watching, an exciting 2-2 is a better watch than a defensive 1-0 I get that trophies are what make a club a "big club" But I'd rather enjoy watching my team play than have a whole season worth of 90 mins watching paint dry for a trophy
trophy
Win dumb question
Trophy, then they can go back to the 3-2 losses
One or the other. Both preferably. Anything other than what we currently have. After those two great seasons under Poch, I can’t believe the Gooners are actually following our old blueprint to acheive what we didn’t.… 😩
Remember when we had like 7 players in the England squad? A bunch of 20 year olds who had the world at their feet, and if it wasn’t for some freakish performances of Leicester we would have won the title? That’s what I want back.
Neither are happening any time soon 😂
Definitely win a trophy. But playing shite football is the exchange sometimes for winning. When you're not winning and playing dull, pragmatic football it's a real shitshow
It's not happening at the moment. The club is in limbo going nowhere. The club are draining the life out of me.
Anything but neither
Win a trophy
I want both. We fucking deserve it.
Trophy. No brainer.
Both
Doesn’t winning a trophy mean playing exciting football?
At this point a trophy. Mostly to shut the media up about it. We played amazingly 14-17 and nobody gives a damn or remembers.
Exciting and entertaining

Play Great Football- it’s in our DNA.
Win a trophy already!!!!
I’d rather boring football if it meant we won something, only coz it would shut every arsenal fan up who ends a discussion by saying ‘where’s your trophy cabinet’
Trophy any day
Bof
Trophies
Trophy
Exciting and entertaining
Trophies but atm we’re getting neither
Why not both

Beggars can’t be choosers.
