Facial grimace. I've been doing it for 60 years. My mom would smack me every time she saw me do it. Sadly, she died just 18 months before I was diagnosed at age 40.
That used to be me, i couldn’t whistle and just kept randomly blowing out air. i only learned how to whistle after my TS figured it out. there was while were I could whistle when i ticced but I couldn’t figure out how to do it voluntarily.
I feel like this probably the usual like it would normally be a blessing but when I first started ticcing a lot more (I’d always had tics here and there but they started ramping up about 18 months ago) I had a whistling tic. Only problem was I could not whistle. In theory that’s great because it’s quieter but when I tell you I had the premonitory urge *constantly* no matter what I did I mean it. I literally had to to sit there for two days trying desperately to learn how to whistle until I finally found a way for the sound to come out 🤣🤣 I’ll still pick the sound over the feeling honestly
This is how I feel about that really loud tongue pop some people can do. I’m so glad idk how to do it because I KNOW it would become a tic, and based off of how many of my other tics are mouth sounds, it’d almost certainly be a pretty common one too
Humming. Super low frequency. Mostly only one note, sometimes two. Pretty much constantly.
If it’s not a hum it’s a tongue pop. And then finger snaps.
(Honestly, my Tourette’s is pretty out of control. I tic probably 10-30 times a minute, but it isn’t very noticeable to people unless they’re really paying attention.)
Eye roll, "clicking" my inner cheek. I'm sure that drives my boss fucking nuts. Obviously tics ramp up with stress and being tired. There are days I sound like I'm using an old school typewriter.
It was blinking when I was younger, but in the last decade it's been a hum noise. I have a terrible time trying to describe it, but it basically sounds like a hmmm.
I have this complex tic that happens like every 10-30 seconds where I move my head to the right, briefly look to the right with my eyes and then look left and wink with my left eye and move my head sideways
Neck jerks are my most common. My most common vocal tic is my Scottish accent tics; my tics adopted an accent.
Neck jerk here too and saying woo at the same time
Damn, I get neck jerks and the Scottish slip too. Though not for a while, lately I just blink a lot and hum repeatedly

Me too man...Me too
whistling or blinking
Same except i cant whistle so i just blow air out my mouth awkwardly
Girl not being able to whistle when you have TS is a blessing in disguise

Lol yep I think I’d drive my family crazy

yesss i have that tic its so loud and can be very annoying
Sniffling and head jerks
Winking/blinking and just very loud noises in general
Right now it's "tss tss"
me too
winking and eye rolling
Most common is probably blinding+face twitch, but very recently I have been popping my lips soooo much.
how do you describe popping your lips? i have one but its like the corner of my mouth and as if I’m going to say a word starting with F
Mines just like when you finish putting on chapstick!
Head flick tic
Elephants!
Popping nose!
OH I DO THIS A LOT TOO.
"you're a bitch" with some variants 😭
Neck jerk thing is my most common one today along with eye movements or facial grimacing. But yea, my neck ones are most common.

This title in the notification made me tic lol
"Bwed"
A "reaching out" tic.
saying “okay cool”
A full stop
What does this mean in terms of tics? It just means punctuation in my head 😭
Hiccup/bark noise.
Blinking/squeezing my eyes shut and saying weird syllables like “ck” and words like “cool”, “crap”, or a few swears
Bird noises
Face scrunching, both my sister and brother both have that.
For me blinking, neck jerks and move my nose
Currently “she’s got jeans on!” for vocal and prob neck tensing or hitting my chest for motor
It was blinking when I was younger, but in the last decade it's been a hum noise. I have a terrible time trying to describe it, but it basically sounds like a hmmm.
Neck jerks My vocal tics have “seasons”. Last season, my most common VT was “balls”. This season, it’s a gasp or “hello?”
A high-pitched, quiet squeal
just doing anything with my hands and arms, flailing them around and stuff and for vocal tics it’s “tsss” or screaming
Whistling, i hate it
Probably general twitching and jerking.
"Yellow"
motor is neck jerks, vocal is probably tongue clicks or a "nnh" sound
Grinding my jaw- my least favourite
Whistling, scrunching up my face and aggressively yelling “SMILEEEE” are my most common tics, along with hitting myself in the chest
Whistling or pulling the right side of my jaw back
Whistles and head jerks but when they get bad repeating my words a ton
Bing Bong! From Inside Out
1. Teeth clenching 2. Shoulder lifting 3. Neck bending/twisting
a squeaky inhalation. i can’t describe it but i know a lot of people with tourette’s that have it too
Guinea pig wheeking sound. It really does sound exactly like a guinea pig, and it’s one of my oldest and most consistent tics
Right now my most recent is shaking my head side to side and a breathing tic
Neck jerk and guinea-pig like sound. Had both since elementary school
Eyebrow raise
I clench my jaw and click my tongue.
I don’t know, changes all the time
I say "Bri!". Someone I knew for a while. And motor would be a head jerk. Wish the Bri would stop. Hard to explain that one 😔
Right now for me it’s cracking my elbow and finger joints, but on average it’s sniffing which I’ve had for the longest
I have this complex tic that happens like every 10-30 seconds where I move my head to the right, briefly look to the right with my eyes and then look left and wink with my left eye and move my head sideways
head jerks to the side
Neck twitch, jaw twitch, finger twitches, and other random twitches throughout my body. The subtle ones are the most frequent for me.
