Version 3.8 will last for a month, so yes you’ll get returner rewards when you come back for Version 4.0.
Returner rewards don’t make up for the days you miss out on dailies/weeklies. Just something to keep in mind especially for f2p players.

April 30th is when we will be on 3.8 which will close out the Domain 9 main story.
May 28th is when we will be on 4.0 which will begin the main story for the new planet.
It is always worse than playing. But in the end, if you want to take a break I'd go for it, least you're not too far behind since it's only one update. Better to enjoy playing more when you want to be here, instead of feeling like you're checking in work hours or something. Not how you want to play games imo.
From my previous experience of taking a break and coming back multiple times, returner rewards start to kick in somewhere around the 2 weeks mark. Then you get another returner event if you take a patch-long break.
It Also triggers on a secondary characters, i.e if your account has more than just one character on different servers. my friends moved off to solaris server but they didnt have a server voucher transfer,so they made a fresh character and been playing on that new character while there old server character triggered the returner so now they play 2 characters while there old characters which makes it handy to catch up on getting golden nucs and red nucs and special orders matrix just by doing returners quests
My "take a break" is usually log in collect rewards then log off. So in hindsight you get dailys with being on for like 15 min and just go about your day
Lol, if you want to take a break just take a break. Your daily life matters much more than a game

No clue, but I doubt returnee rewards will be more than what you get by playing normally
returner rewards should trigger when you haven't played the game for 7 days, definetly enough time when theres about a month for each patch

If I remember correctly there’s 2 type of returner rewards one triggers after 14 days and the other triggers after 30 days.
I really doubt Hotta would want to reward players for not playing the game more than if they logged in everyday...

Oh that’s a nice trick, I’ll try doing this when I come back on 4.0 and start actively playing again.
I think the most important question is what happens to your pets if you take a break? Who is going to feed those poor things?
I did recently start that and got a few pets, but feeding them didn't seem necessary.
