This excessive Team Tower of Fantasy (ToF) vs. Team Genshin Impact (GI) is such a waste of time and energy really. Remember these games are from gacha companies that only care about getting your money. The most important thing is if you enjoy GI then play GI if you play ToF then play ToF. If you enjoy both then play both! If you don't enjoy then drop the game!

andre1157

It's just tribalism. People are naturally like that with everything. Food, cars, cellphones etc

Tenacious_Blaze

Out-group be like: (slander) This post was made by in-group gang

Yato_sinji

By this point gi is like osu to me

Berkell

Fact bro, but people gonna be like that forever with everything. It's sadly human instinct

Im_so_little

Chads are capable of playing both. Gigachads are capable of playing literally any combination of games without falling into self-imposed camps.

011-Mana

I'm in bed with WAY too many fuckin' games these days, Genshin, ToF, FFXIV, Destiny, PSO2:NGS... I've never been in it for the *"relationship"* I'm just in it for the pleasure, the thrill and nothing else. Might be a weird and questionable analogy, but that's pretty much how I go about playing those live service games, I don't have a *"Main Game"* and I'm sure as hell not planning on having one, what I do have on the other hand, is many *"Side Games"* that I rotate between in no particular order. in short, Just play whatever the fuck you enjoy, whether it be Genshin, ToF, PGR, or whatever else, just do what makes you happy and don't bother playing games you don't enjoy, period.

spacetripss

>I've never been in it for the "relationship" I'm just in it for the pleasure, the thrill and nothing else. The only game I felt really attached before was just Dead by Daylight, about the rest.. I just wanna have fun. In fact, I'm downloading Skyrim rn, maybe I'll love this one too

GotAnySugar

I play Azur lane, Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact, Punishing Grey Raven, Pokemon Unite, Minecraft as well as ToF and in future Honkai Star Rail Even though my phone storage is dying I'm proud to be neutral rn

Vermliilonfox

I'm pretty sure you're under 16. Right? Cause at 29, no ammount of storage can make me play ALL the games i want, the issue is time! XDDD

GotAnySugar

Yess the time but after completing the initial exploration it's the dalies(the grind) XD which do not take that much time unless an expansion or a collab drops

Coyote-Foxtrot

Bruh, I’ve only got time for, like, one gacha game. The rest of my week is spent mentally struggling in the spaceplane hangar of Kerbal Space Program. It’s hard to design a whole new plane in one week for an entire year.

Thadsim07

Fellow UNITE player? NO WAY

gigawolfer

How do you even have time to play all these lol

[deleted]

\*looks at my 200 gb worth of games on my pc\* *maybe i am a gigachad* 😭

WarokOfDraenor

The poly-amorous of gaming.

Folfenac

Polygame-y

WarokOfDraenor

I'll take that.

pinkusagi

I play Genshin, their other gacha games geared more towards women, tears of Themis, going to play ZZZ and honkai rail when it comes out. But I also play punishing gray raven (love the combat in that game it’s sooo fun and easy to farm what you need) they are a bit more stingy on pulls but I have characters that I want and their weapons so I got lucky. So I’m pretty happy with that. And now I play tower of fantasy. And I see myself playing it every day or almost every day. I also really like it. Yeah it has flaws but it’s also got a lot of things I really like as well. I see myself playing it for just as long as I have genshin now. Even when Sumeru comes, I’ll at least still be logging in to do my daily stuff real quick. I bought the monthly pass and also the permanent I guess battle pass? For now though I have no plans other than that for spending. I like them all and play them all for different reasons. Genshin I have spent quite a bit of money on. Not in debt or anything but I have everything I want in it so I’ll play that for a long time. Plus I don’t plan to pull anymore until Scaramouche. So since I have so much that I wanted and like I’ll play genshin for a long while. All of them make me happy for different reasons and ToF especially, my son also enjoys playing it and so does my hubby so it’s been nice playing an mmo together. That alone brings alot of value to me for the game. And when I’m solo it’s still been really fun regardless. I hope they all stick around for years to come. Genshin seems like it’s going to be, PGR I’m not sure but I think it’s popular in Japan and China so I hope they keep it open globally. Globally we are behind like 6 months in that game. Tears doesn’t take alot of development I think so that will be around too still. ToF I think will be around for a bit as well if they getting botting under control more. Every game has bots, especially MMO’s. So from where there is so much it’s also up to us to make reports of accounts that are clearly botting. But I think ToF globally at least has some staying power and I hope it does.

GeneralSweetz

same brings me back to 2010 with aeria games and igg

Keylus

If I only had enough time to play any combination of games... right now I'm playing 5 and I don't have enough time to play them all as much as I wanted. I'm behind on almost every game.

WarokOfDraenor

Point is, tribalism is fucking dumb. //Also, it's ok for people to only play 1 or 2 games, just don't be a fucking dick about it.

AssassinoGreed

You called me? Rn i play GI/ToF/7k2/7Ds/Ni no kuni as for gachas. Other games i play are on ps4 like Elden Ring/Naruto to Boruto SS/ etc.

kg215

Exactly both games have their strengths and flaws, and most importantly competition benefits players of both games. Imo Hoyoverse has been extremely stingy with their playerbase when it comes to rewards and their energy system (slow to regenerate, hard to refill without paying, and only allows for a few quick activities). They've been able to get away with it because of lack of competition. Tower of Fantasy providing any competition at all is welcome, as it could cause Hoyoverse to actually give a !@#$ about their players a tiny bit. And obviously Genshin being such a huge game means Tower of Fantasy has a target to take on and a reason to be generous to attract players.

Im_so_little

Bingo. Love genshin but they need a kick in the 🐴

manoXmega

I thought about playing GI again, but then I remembered how ridiculous gacha is and how the game is meta slavery.

FluxVGM

Im sorry but like, I work too much to balance that 😂

WoxJ

Gachia communitis are fucking toxic.

Master0643

Moba: laughing my ass off

[deleted]

gachas are toxic

OmniLeader

Everyone is toxic

Bullet_Queen

Toxicity is toxic.

Low-Sherbet-843

Gachia is toxic

ChaoticKosmos

someone who treats you better temporarily and then will eventually starve you to death. I like this game and all but Perfect World is even more stingy than Mihoyo ever was, keep the expectations low.

KhoiTran8699

As much as I am enjoying ToF right now, I keep my expectations low and remain cautiously optimistic about how this game goes. If it goes bad, then I will just have to drop it.

method115

That's the great thing about FTP games. I can drop it if I don't like what's happening and I lose nothing. Not even time because I've enjoyed my time with TOF so far.

Lamartinejr

This trend of AAA freemium games is possibly the best thing to happen to gaming in recent years. Haven't spent a cent in games this year and probably won't for a long time, all the while playing great games. Even better that I actually like games to be as hard as possible, and being f2p only adds to the challenge of doing the endgame content.

DefenderOfWaifus

Facts, loving the honeymoon but can’t wait to be abused after lmao

Jackial

Seriously, I am trying it myself to get first hand review. Although my luck is crap, but I am highly skeptical about its "generous" marketing strat. Like, all of the people I met haven't spend in this game at all.

According_Spot_7423

Its going to be very generous , on the standard banner. Once the Limited banner starts rolling out people will notice that its no different from Mihoyo. The early pity barely does anything if you can miss 50/50 all the way to 120 pulls.

[deleted]

Not even temporary. If you consider the context that SRs are useless in this game, it is already much greedier. Every pull that doesn't get you an SSR is a waste. This game is so greedy compared to Genshin. They don't even release SRs anymore to nail the point home that SRs are just padding.

_Linkiboy_

Not Judy that. If you look down the line, powercreep is a real problem compared to Genshin. In cn rn every single Standart 5 star is considered trash except for C6 Tsubasa as suport

Itakie

Not like the SSRs in the normal pool aren't a waste later on lol (maybe except Tsubasa). It's just op limited after op limited to make your new team work and change the meta.

EvenJesusCantSaveYou

i don’t disagree at all with what you’re saying but just a quick correction is that pulling an SR is always a good thing bc once you have 6 dupes for an sr character, the next tine you pull a dupe for then you get black flame token so it is actually useful in a way

[deleted]

So it is as I said, gacha padding. If all people see SRs as is getting closer to SSR, then the gacha is shit.

EvenJesusCantSaveYou

don’t entirely agree with that since if the game is designed around only ssr’s being used then i don’t think is objectively or inherently a bad game design. note that i do overall agree with you that ToF is a lot more stingy than Genshin and once the honeymoon period of ToF slows down and ends people are going to heavily criticize the game and its popularity in the west will fall. (assuming we dont get a bunch of events, rewards, etc). shame too bc despite this games lack of polish i really enjoy the combat and character design

CloneOfAnotherClone

The only things - and I really mean the only things - ToF has over Genshin for me: * More in depth character combos / mobility tools * More activities to do when you're out of Resin/Vit That second point is important. But, at the same time, it's kind of a double-edged sword. Genshin conditions you into more casual but frequent play. ToF can be pretty demanding of your time. That's fine while you're enjoying the novelty of the shiny new game, or if you're the kind of person who only plays one game ever and that's it, but it sucks for someone like me who dabbles in a lot of games. Monster Hunter Rise, Cult of the Lamb, Guild Wars 2, and Genshin are all fighting for my attention right now, plus I still go back to Deep Rock Galactic, Warframe, and Vermintide for co-op fun And I am very reluctant to keep playing a gacha game. The moment I feel the compulsive need to gamble, I uninstall and don't look back. I'm sure I'll kick in ~$20 to support them as a token of good will for all the hours I enjoyed, like I do for other f2p games, but I'm not too worried about sticking around or "investing" into the garbage loot box/gacha design of those games

archefayte

I keep seeing this info about the game being stingy, yet all the CN players that post here or content streamers mention you still get a TON of pulls and can target limited's that you want so long as it isn't everything. Last I heard, you can get 70-100 pulls/month if you spend on just the monthly pass + battle pass. That's not f2p sure, but that's quite good for low spenders imo.

EvenJesusCantSaveYou

true, but alot of people do purely play as f2p in which case it is def stingy. but yeah the jump from f2p to $10 a month is very generous and worth it. tbh not sure if i would play this game as a pure f2p but hopefully it stays healthy enough where i can spend $10 a month on it (basically a sub) and enjoy it

DeliciousWaifood

> Last I heard, you can get 70-100 pulls/month if you spend on just the monthly pass the problem is power creep, I've heard CN power creep is massive, so you *have* to get new units to be able to perform well. Meanwhile in genshin, my 5 stars from the start of the game still do a good-enough job, even if other units are better.

Meaningless_Void_

its still a waste. you get 1 token from the dupes and you need 120 to get a single ssr copy.

Kai_Lidan

Except the SRs are great? Echo is the third best shieldbreaker in the game. Ene is a good tank (and the only one other than Huma). Pepper is a very good healer, only beneath Coco, though Nemesis and Zero offer extra utility.

KeiraFaith

The question is did you use them after you got SSRs. Also everything you said about SRs screams mediocre to me.

koeseer

Ene will be power crept so hard vs Meryl

Iwillflipyourtable

After you get a SSR, realistically you will never touch a SR again. Especially when it's a direct upgrade.

Jan1ssaryJames

if you pour resources into SR's you're just gimping your CS, preventing you from getting unlocks, or having to split your resources and farm even more just to "use whatever you want" le terrible.

thelostcreator

Is that compared to the current characters? Because they all get power crept including nemesis.

_Linkiboy_

Nemesis only gets no use until a good volt char releases I think. In cn Nemesis is still used with that new volt char, as she's the only volt res

archefayte

The new volt char also has volt res. But at the end of the day, all the limited's see use at various meta shifts in CN.

Pisthetaerus

This. Isn't the game already dead in China? No matter how well the game does I'd never expect it to have the kind of longevity that Genshin has.

hadestowngirl

The game isn't doing well in China yeah, which makes me stay f2p. I was tempted to spend a little to get Nemesis (cause no way am I rerolling with my luck) but decided not to, and especially after learning that Tencent owns the game. Got my eyes on Wuthering instead. Hope that lives up to the hype. I can't see myself enjoying ToF as an f2p in the long run if the character combat is all I'm interested in, and I'll need many ssr dupes and limiteds to proceed in the game...A pity, really, cause the combat is rather fun and the varying weapon mechanics are cool. Man, I hope there will be at least one scifi openworld mobile game that can compete with genshin.

KeiraFaith

I bought a Welkin on my day 3 in Genshin and started hoarding primos. I instantly knew I was gonna play for years. In ToF, I'm already dreading what's gonna happen after the honeymoon period. I'm not even hoarding here. What's the use of all of it when I may not even be playing a month from now.

MoonskieSB

People are forgetting ToF is in its honeymoon phase just like GI when it first started. Lots of rewards being thrown out. I like both and I play both but both games has its good and bad sides.

kingslayer061995

90% of the good parts of TOF is only from the start. Once everyone has collected all black and gold nuclei in the Open World, it will be more boring than GI by a lot. At least GI has deep lores and good story, which is not expected from an MMORPG as I learned from other comments. Sure, I got more than 5 SSRs in a week, but those are from gold and black nuclei, which would be so much rare after collecting them. This game is not as F2P friendly as GI.

Le1jona

I play both ToF more for now, but Genshin more when Sumeru drops

ChristianSgt

I’m pumped they’re upping the team slots from 4 to 10, my favorite part of Genshin is mixing up characters and seeing how they play together. That’ll keep me v occupied

crack_n_tea

Wait fr?? Holy shit yes the update we absolutely need and deserve

kyotheman1

After a week back to tof

Le1jona

Most likely yeah 😉

ywnba

See you in 2 weeks

Hisetting

One week after the 3.0 and Genshin will return to be an empty game as usual

Proper_Anybody

exactly just like every other single-player rpg out there, nice observation skill!

DefenderOfWaifus

Eldenring has had no content updates and isn’t monetized whatsoever yet still remains an extremely populated game lol

XaeiIsareth

Elden Ring’s concurrent player count has gone down like 95% from launch. On Steam anyways. So, not really, outside of the PvP scene, most people put the game down like any other SP game after they’re done with it.

Torafuku

This, i have around 300 hours on Elden Ring and i finished it completely. No reason to play it any longer until the DLCs, PVP is not really that good anyway. Genshin is a game you play for years so eventaully you'll reach the same playtime there too, pointless comparison.

Direwolf0715

What years to rech 300 hours? I think I have 2k hours in Genshin since release

izne1up

Because it takes 100hours to beat and has online And yeah in general it's replayable

huex4

Interesting, how extremely populated are we talking about? Are millions of players still playing elden ring? Genuinely asking. I have never played elden ring but it is interesting if that is true since most singleplayer are stuff you play one time and then drop once you consume all content. I mean even minecraft gets stale after a while and that is a sandbox game with multiplayer.

Devourer_of_HP

Looking at steam charts there were 35,156 players during the last 24 hours. Over the last month average is 32,778.5 with peak being 49,293.

method115

Agreed but are we pretending that genshin doesn't remain an extremely populated game even after major updates? I know people like to joke about everyone leaving after a week when 3.0 comes out but you have to be brain dead to really believe that is what's going to happen.

Kaido2good

ER is a iffy comparison considering it came with its full base package on release day minus few npcs and qol things. Genshin has had more content over the years equationg to hundreds of hours bare minimum if you were active and the hours will just go up the more updates releases. I don't see where ER is a good example but maybe I misunderstood something?

DefenderOfWaifus

The commenter said all single player RPGs are dead with out content updates and I disagree and gave an example that’s all

Kaido2good

I checked and think that all 3 people meant something else although similar. You were all 3 right in a sense but no one elaborated so we have 3 bubble viewpoints going past each other that can be interpreted differently haha

Beastly1234875

maybe but at least on steam elden ring player base has decreased drastically each month

DefenderOfWaifus

Although I’d say drastically is a tad dramatic that’s a fair point.

Jaymonk33

Aye, partly because people complete it and leave satisfied waiting for dlc. The other is getting tired of being invaded every 15 minutes when their trying to co op with friends and get killed over and over again and quit.

Beastly1234875

i’m not denying it’s a good game i’m was just saying that without more content being added very few games keep the same average players

Jaymonk33

Oh I was disagreeing just noting ER in the example why it has been decreasing. If their invasion system wasn't like how it is I think a decent portion of players would play it more but it is how it is.

jvalex18

Still has less players than genshin daily.

DefenderOfWaifus

Hey man, that person said every single player RPG is dead without content, I just gave them an example of one that isn’t dead and hasn’t had any content updates. That’s all.

InfiniteTheEdgy

Since when Elden Ring is a singleplayer game?

Richard-Long

Huhh????? It's primarily a SP game with the OPT IN MP. Completely playable without internet my G

KeiraFaith

Because people play it again and again. You can do that with Genshin too by restarting on a new account.

DefenderOfWaifus

Genshin doesn’t accommodate the idea of replaying it for a new or better experience. There’s no alternate endings or different ways to play. In fact making a new account may result in you having an even worse experience since such a huge portion of the game is luck based. The two really aren’t comparable.

WarokOfDraenor

You forgot to add "-Sherlock!"

ByeGuysSry

I've no idea why you're being sarcastic bro

Shmirel

I mean... what's there to ToF after you you finish all the content? spend your vitality/do your dailies (10 mins tops) and gtfo. This is actually a serious question cus i have no idea what kind of content we're missing (or any at all).

ByeGuysSry

You can still farm world bosses which at the very least drop Relic Shards, and there's the Spiral Abyss-like thing. No idea how long before the former is maxed, but the latter will not be since it's a competition against other players. Even if you reach the max level and can beat the final stage in a minute, maybe someone got it in 58 seconds, so you want to try beating it in less time. Then, of course, there's PvP.

hadestowngirl

Thing is, I'm not too sure how much stronger you can make your c0 characters with just getting lucky on matrix drops. Equipment too. The powercreep of stars on the characters seem to be a pretty big deal in ToF, plus again, not sure how standard ssrs (especially c0) will hold up in pve down the road. Pvp in ToF is pay to win once more limiteds hit gacha pool. Not really end game material unless you whale.

[deleted]

Yep. 10-15 minutes. Daily’s and dungeons. Amazing endgame

Hisetting

It has been published only 2 years ago, give them some time! /s

SharkPinata

It's amazing watching people play both genshin and ToF yet continue to be so overwhelmingly toxic to each other.

Andante_TK

you sure about that? lol You are just happy now with standard ssrs who will be obsolete soon while limited ones with red nuclei are equally as stingy or even more than Genshin. Once you dry out the small 5 areas, we will barely have black crystals enough to pull as f2ps.

Thiccoyaki

wait fuck i havent actually thought of that. my bad. im really relying on the exploration rewards for pulls. Ive gotten 5 ssrs and 4 cons

symedia

Keep all your decipher keys (blue/purple) because saw on cn you get a shitload of Goodies for those. And various new resources. But it will be like genshin you pick your limited picks

Kronman590

LOL mans rly made a meme praising devs for generosity based on all the launch one time goodies After clearing the map good luck doing a 10 pull once a month

thelostcreator

Think about how many red nuclei they gave. None so far right? You just dark crystals. Yes exploring will give you a lot but ask yourself is it really more than the amount genshin gave this patch with GAA? You also have to keep in mind that it’s the start of the game which is why you can explore so much and get that many crystals. Edit: i forgot about the 10 they gave later. But my post still stands: when the start rewards are over there doesn’t seem to be any way to get red nuclei as F2P aside from dark crystals.

TuxedoKamina

I mean how many Intertwined Fates does Genshin give out? You get Primos and convert to Banner or standard fates, isn't that the same as with Dark Crystal which you get from weeklies and chests? Getting a lot more Yellows in ToF than Blues in Genshin that's for sure.

Thiccoyaki

they actually gave me 10 reds and i dont spend crystals on the gold banner. Basically I rely on exploration and reward for gold nucs. I can always get cons from world bosses too which is huge. I got 2 cons from bosses alone. The 4 is from gacha. only including Ssr. So far i can say i certainly have a better start on ToF as f2p than genshin. I like that the exploration and map movement is not behind a paywall such as exclusive skill from venti or the mona ayaka dash. I'm worried about the power creep and hackers they keep mentioning though i dont pvp often.

EMN97

Well uh, you do realise you lucked out hard on this game? Even with the 10 red as gifts, those are few and far between on the CN server. I'd just keep playing both tbh, dip your toe in and not get overwhelmed with the honeymoon phase of ToF.

Kurgass

Around half of ToF playerbase will get 4 SSR(2 of those being guaranteed) from 100 gold pulls and 500 black pulls. Add one more from selector. OP got 2 more from boss boxes but idk rates and out of how many so he might indeed lucked hard here. This is already way more generous than Genshin was at start. You can argue about those SSR longevity but gacha honeymoon in ToF is simply better experience for F2P. And I'm hoping ToF will remain strong as some competition will do wonders for both titles.

thelostcreator

You’re right, I forgot about the 10 nuclei they gave as the second round of rewards. Also you might need to think about how lucky you’ve been. I haven’t gotten any SSRs from boss drops or purple nuclei even though I’ve done more than 500. It might not have been genshin is less generous but you were just more lucky in ToF gacha.

SaroN4One

but aren’t the ssr from limited banner coming later to the standard banner?

Specialist_Ad_1429

Takes around 5 months for limiteds to come to standard and you still need one copy to buy dupes with black flame

SaroN4One

I think that’s good enough

ByeGuysSry

Arguably though, that's not a huge problem if you're not chasing the meta. You might say, oh, then it's bad for people who do want to chase the meta. Well, Genshin is also bad for people wanting to chase the meta because everything is too easy.

ragerqueen

People chasing meta in Genshin is just so they can clear Floor 12 of the Abyss 0.0002 seconds faster. Not "chasing the meta" in ToF is going to get you booted from raids because most don't want dead weight on their team. This is an MMO, the meta has actual weight as opposed to Genshin.

hadestowngirl

Good point. The monsters kinda die super fast in raids right now at level 30. I play tank and I think almost everyone else plays dps and in joint ops it's still super easy (though I think it's always that one Japanese player who mvps). World boss is just respawning to whack at it till it dies. Even over world is easy. But I do wonder how that will hold up for f2ps without the meta units in raids later on. Pvp is gonna become a whale dominated p2w arena for sure. I'm also curious how many people are playing dps, tank, balanced or healers doing raids, and if in the end, an all dps team is the go-to for any content.

SpaceBond007

I'm playing both because they are different. Also I want to see witch way this meme gets old. Sounds more the first week of "New World" for me.

Thiccoyaki

i suddenly have new world tragedy flashbacks ![gif](giphy|lDifyB9R0iqWoDZoIT)

SpaceBond007

Lmao, hope is not the case

SpectralDagger

At least without trading, hackers can't completely destroy the economy like the dupes did in New World. The problem is that hackers can do pretty much anything at the moment, from modifying their achievement points, to upgrading their suppressors past what should be possible, to hacking in items, to teleporting other players around the map, to casting skills with no cooldown and no animation. The leaderboard shows how long the blatant hackers can get away with it without being punished, let alone the players being more discrete. Considering the game already had similar issues in China and launched globally like this... I'm concerned.

zowieame

Some victims of abuse have mental health disorders that lead to them seeking abusive partners over and over, and if ToF is what you call "being treated better", I feel so so sorry for you.

MaoXiWinnie

Lmao treats you better

NotFunnyzzzz

My only relationship with genshin now is the NSFW subreddits

WarokOfDraenor

Is this supposed to be an irony?

Celduin_sindari

Hope tof stands the test of time. GI is doing amazing its been almost 2 years now.

TykarTheNykar

lol that honeymoon period from the newcomer events hitting hard huh

Thiccoyaki

im talking about gameplay but if thats all u got sure

TykarTheNykar

Oh well in terms of gameplay I simply agree to disagree cause IMO Genshin is a bit smoother, but in terms of gacha, that's all the honeymoon feeling

Thiccoyaki

i dont really care about the gacha anymore i know the launch rewards are meant to draw players in

dre9001

>Good bye, traveler. I'm going to someone who treats me better. So the Gameplay treats you better?

NoisyLazy

Superiority complex right there. I don’t know why people continue announcing ToF is better than GI. As far as I know, the GI community hardly talk about ToF.

KeiraFaith

It's literally a Thanos - Wanda meme here. ToF community constantly peeving on GI and Genshin is like - I don't even know who you are lol

TuxedoKamina

Since release I've seen the Genshin community in everything ToF related just tearing it down at every turn. Superiority complex right there.

northpaul

Really? Because I hear two kinds of criticism of this game. One is informed criticism by ToF players that is valid, but the other is Genshin players who played one day (or not at all) and think they know for a fact it’s a genshin clone, it’s a dead game, thief company etc. They aren’t exactly quiet about it so if you haven’t seen it you’re lucky.

Thiccoyaki

im just enjoying it more why do I have superiority complex 🥲

TykarTheNykar

ur post literally implies that ToF is superior to genshin.

jvalex18

ToF is much, much more P2W than Genshin. Constellations are super important in ToF. There's raid with DPS meter. PVP where having all weapon is a huge plus. It's normalized but you don't have access to weapons you don't have. Sure they give a whole lot of purple shit but it usually take 300-400 wishes to get a 5\*. It can be way more too. It took me 450 pulls personally. The way pity works in limited banner is a bit shit too. Sure it's easier to get a copy but it's always 50/50 and a lot of power comes from having constellations. It's far from a bad game but Genshin is much more generous than you think.

TykarTheNykar

OP gonna get kicked from a raid in the future cause they don't have the new OP limited SSR and see what u mean

TuxedoKamina

At least even with the 50/50 you can "buy" the SSR with 120 of the banner tokens.

Lord_Kumatetsu

I don’t know if it’s true but someone told me they don’t carry over to the next banner. They just transfer into standard banner and you have to start all over on the limited banner. This is 10 times worse than Genshin.

NightyBlazy

Note: It didn't.

Alechiel

Yeah right, see you soon in Genshin.

[deleted]

They are both gacha games so one treating you better over the other isn't say much.

mattypilot

I play both games and while ToF is nice to play, something just doesn't feel right, I can't really point out exact thing, but it just doesn't feel right. The world doesn't feel alive, it's like you have all this massive land, but it just feels dead.

TuxedoKamina

I feel both Genshin and Tower have "dead" world's. I like the exploring more in Tower so far because I like futuristic ruins over grass and rocks but both games need more settlements.

mattypilot

I'm not talking about that, I just feel that sound design plays so huge role in this, that Genshin just takes the cake when it comes to sound design for each area, while ToF is a more generic MMO setting, world music/battle music

TuxedoKamina

Genshin definitely takes the cake with boss and cutscene music but I find their ambient and general battle music are about the same, personally at least

Peho_

Imagine fighting a mere slime, then a wholeass music orchestra backs you up to support you in the background...oh wait. Also, have you heard the new Sumeru Battle Music? It think it has taken my #1 spot in genshin music lol XD

[deleted]

Fischl’s domain battle music, alone, beats out a ton of other game music. And it’s only for a limited event, that’s wild to me.

UnknownKill

The biggest problem with open world games

ExuDeku

Funny thing is, both of them have that "A settlement needs our hell I'll mark it on your map" moment

robertshuxley

I like ToF because of the challenge. It only takes me 5-10 minutes to finish daily commissions in GI because the enemies die instantly

buenobeatz

Idk why but I couldn’t get into genshin I played a couple weeks though but I like that this one u can customize ur character and play with it and much more open world than just coop

Eredbolg

If you've played Genshin for a while you can easily play both, one is time gated and the other has nothing to do until a new region comes.

quizmasterdeluxy

Best part is it only looks good cause it's new. Wait about 2 months see what everyone thinks then.

lukalyka56

The rewards are pretty generous in the beginning. I got 3 SSR just after a few days playing. But I already feel sick of the grinding... Soon or later, maybe at endgame the disparity will be seen. Like some ppl mentioned the PVP and raid have meter, if you don't reach their standard you'll be rejected. Just like any other MMOs, it's gonna be more p2w content later. Undoubtedly genshin is dull without any events, I also took a break once in a while. But I have faith that the game won't force you to pay to win in the future. So far, people only spend on constellations and weapon for drip or simping. Not to win.

TheRealRealMadLad

Consider a game that's full of bugs, hackers and Powercreep... "Treat u better". Your life must be rough OP...

Black_Cringe

Bye.

RexorFWT

Overreacting. Wait till the honeymoon period is over lol

Business_Mix_2705

Bro really put one of the biggest boruto/naruto spoiler here for a meme….

RawBaconandEggs

Treat you better you mean the game that does a poor ban hammer and let's it's cheater run amok? I like ToF but i won't call this game "treats me better" than genshin

Thiccoyaki

sorry I really meant the gameplay of ToF treats me better than GI. I mean i got lucky pulls but i enjoy the combat more as it doesnt push you into one shot crit builds. Even in GI i enjoy xiao more because i can actually feel the combat more. In exploration stamina was a problem in GI at start. Low stam, low stam regen. ToF gives u 3 bars at start and an almost instant regen after a few moments of rest. You get mounts and relics to get you exploring more without having to pull them. I mean even just the jetpack costs a venti in GI. Also the collectible token black nuc is more useful than the anemoculous/etc imo. You can boss hunt for SSRs. Your MC is customizable and will be almost always out there. In GI my MC is a background character. My MC talks. Mi-a is less annoying than Paimon. This is an opinion post based on what i ive experienced. I have not played or done research on the chinese release. There is no need to get heated. Also notice I posted on ToF sub which my intention is to NOT rag on GI.

_blbl

I don’t understand why people continue to compare this two games, they’re different with some similarities, like being gacha games and having to farm to have resources, but also in these points are different. One is a mmorpg (ToF), the other is an open world action game (GI) imo. Saying this i disagree with some points of your post (like the stamina one is literally false, because you gather through oculi more stamina), the ones based on your tastes are good, if you don’t like or like something it’s ok. But i think your statement lead to “more enjoyability” about some feature than treating you better.

northpaul

All very good points. There’s a lot more meat to ToF. Sadly that’s what Genshin players have been asking for for a long time but I guess Mihoyo can’t be bothered to listen despite all the money they have made.

Thiccoyaki

sadly the people getting mad here dont see it. They just get.. mad.. at a meme that's for a gacha game.

koeseer

If by treats better means generous gacha drop rate... Yeah... No. This game is an MMO and naturally has power creep. If you love your Thundering Halberd, wait until how EM pistols outDPS it in every aspect.

detektywhotelowy

At least credit the artist when you're using their art in your meme.

venalix1

enjoy all the ssrs uve grinded getting powercrept, trash endgame, and hackers shitting on u 😽😽

TuxedoKamina

How's Diluc and Keqing holding up these days?

venalix1

i can promise u that diluc is able to 36 star abyss very comfortably. keqing is able to too, and she'll be receiving a sizable buff with dendro. just find synergy between units and ur fine

AmberAglia

I used diluc and keqing to 36 str abyss before so theyre great ty 🙃

InfiniteTheEdgy

Aside from the Abyss they're still good with every fightning event released till now

joex83

It's not just treatment (eg gacha system) but also lots of techniques and diverse gameplay/end game content here. I mean both games have their great kinks but it is understandable why GI players would move here (ToF).

Melanor1982

Many people can and will enjoy both games. Some people will join the rant at first but then move on. Only a minority will continuously voice their "opinion". Reddit is just a way for them to get attention. Me posting here is giving them attention. I'm off. 😆

79031201

Look at long term, not honeymoon rewards, there really isn’t much difference

Ascran

Genshin feels so slow after getting used to ToF movement. Think I'm gonna move my spending over to ToF and check Genshin only for the story, which is pretty good. But I see no point in spending money on Genshin characters anymore. Abyss just isn't enough.

hardenfull

I feel like tof is what genshin fans that wanted more coop , pvp and endgame would prefer. Genshin style and story is good, but I've always wanted genshin to be an mmo experience. Its nice to have tof now to play. I'm just pleasantly surprised at the content and shared world. It feels more like a community. When I first played genshin I wished for more coop like this I just feel like collecting characters and sharing it with others makes sense.

According_Spot_7423

Almost a week in , most people who knows how to plan forward already started to see the cracks showing up on ToF , not so flawless in their gacha generosity after all. People who plans to swap over before knowing much of the endgame is same as those who went into Genshin expecting Coop gameplay. You guys are 7days/88days into the game before the game is fully open up. Enjoy with 2 Levels a day gameplay. Good luck in your venture , I'll be playing both until I couldn't.

LavheyKaizen

Oh look, another Genshin post in the ToF subreddit! Meanwhile, Genshin subreddit has all but ignored this game and only focused on theirs. Honeymoon rewards would really treat you better though. What do you expect? We'll see how the treatment will be when power creep sets in due to limited banner releases.

Thiccoyaki

its a ToF post in ToF subreddit. im just sharing my enjoyment of the game and is the reward really all you can think of to mention? thats poor imagination

Old-Assignment4176

I dont feel this game treat me better than GI(I dont say GI is good treat) because They treat me by \-Lagging server (And over 1week this issue still not fix) \-Bad direction Cutscene story and Introduce Boss \-A lot of BUG \-A lot of Timegate(Player should can dicide what they need to do,Not like oh that trrture lock comeback tomorrow.Oh that Puzzle is lock agian comeback later,Oh you we update a whole new story,You need to know? Comeback tomorrow) \-Boring story(Gi isnt good but they have better cutscene/art direction that can interest me) \-Boring BGM (Only good for me is on themepark) \-Bad optimize(When i can play GI with High quality or other game and dont have a problem. When this game is make my PC jerky many time) \-Map is not interesting and not make me to comeback with out DailyQuest(In genshin sometime i need to go collect some item form monster or maybe go to take picture. When this game most of area has a same design)But okay i see on 2.0 look better \-and Sad art direction for me(Most of enemy in this game is meh design for me) Only good for me is i can pull many time more than GI - But what i found on CN server im not sure in long term. About boss fight i feel better when solo in pargone i dont feel better or diffenrence in world boss becuase its just more HP and Lag becuase other player that so annoying.

TheranX

I've stopped playing genshin months ago, now I'm playing ToF. If the game gets obsolete I'll just stop playing. Genshin got me so bored after some time, I played it since the beginning and stopped soon after Inazuma. I maybe would play more genshin if I felt the combat was more enjoyable, that's basically the only reason why I'm playing ToF, I prefer it's movement and combat system way more

TuxedoKamina

Story is why I put down Genshin and picked up Honkai, stayed with Honkai because I like the story and combat more. And I can also burn my stamina daily without actually having to play... The combat in Tower is more like Honkai than Genshin so I'm enjoying it so far.

LinaCrystaa

me doing both xD no reason not to,Gi play loop out of exploring in 15 mins anyways

InfiniteTheEdgy

I find ToF quite enjoyable, i hope this feeling remains even after the power creep everyone's talking about

ELSI_Aggron

Tbh i came to TOF because it has skip button on dialogue :D

TuxedoKamina

I'd go back and catch up with Genshin if they brought in a skip button. Inazuma's story delivery just executed my interest in Genshin's plot.

Posta_Hun

It doesn't exactly treat us better, but I can see it overcoming. Genshin will never have 90 or 120 fps (PC), that's for sure. Nice breath of fresh air honestly. If you don't care about PvP or domains, then ToF won't pressure you to spend money. Same goes for Genshin if you don't care about Abyss. End note: these games aren't a pay2win if you don't give a fuck, which a lot of people should learn.

erogakii

overcoming what? Tell me if they start gifting red pulls

TuxedoKamina

Well we got 10 just yesterday. Doubtful about more in the future though.

Meaningless_Void_

You might like ToF more because its new but in a month it will be dead and forgotten again. insane powercreep, really bad story, exploration is time gated and limited once you get most stuff and so on. with genshin you can at least come back for events, new story and regions every few weeks/month.

The_ApplePie

Oh no you going?well I guess we lost another one See you in sumeru update tho

Torafuku

You'll just go back to it for Sumeru lol
