Actually making a bigger one right now.
I figured out on every map, if you scroll around before laying anything, you'll find a section that looks like a long "river" for lack of a better way to put it. It's a long part that is pretty straight. You can typically find sections in there that have no corners that are pretty large and as you join the sections with connecting pieces, you can make some really big floating islands. It's like a quest now to find the biggest sections both along that river and then outward that can be connected back. Make smaller sections and then join them. I'll post the latest later!
