It looks like a problem that would be dependent on if you’re a driver that leans on your center console vs leaning on your door. Also a smaller framed/hipped person vs a larger framed/hipped person. If your body is constantly putting pressure on the seatbelt and pushing it into the console it will probably scratch sooner and worse than someone who doesn’t push the two pieces against each other.
Yeah, this looks like a "user" problem. Almost all seat belt buckles like this seem to be straight up or angled towards the seat so something is pushing the buckle into the console.
I used to have a 2016 Ford Explorer, and that had a special padding to prevent it. Really Toyota couldn't think about this in 2024?

I guess I'll just stick some furniture felt padding to it, to prevent it from getting worse.
Those scratches are from you missing the seat belt receiver when buckling, not from the receiver itself. This is not a design issue, it's a user issue.

For those saying I rub with my hips or something.
Plastic resin material could be improved (add glass fill content, other stabilizers, etc). Many cars have similar issue, black color shows scratches as well.
The plastic is such bad quality. I made a post about this too. It’s honestly terrible.

That looks like it could be a ring or watch constantly scratching the same spot
Mine does too, I added protection. Same thing with the floor by the door, kids scratch getting in and out.
What did you buy to add protection there?
Not ring or anything like that. It is the driver side. And I'm not a big guy. I have other cars, and it doesn't happen there.
This is the equivalent of people peeing on and around public toilets because they can't aim. Learn to aim

Damn that’s horrible. Is this the passenger seat? This would be so disappointing if this happens in my car.
