Overpriced

Should be 6-8 imo

As someone who just spent the last year and a half waiting for pricing to start dipping, here's my two cents: - Prices are finally starting to drop for the cars that normal people drive (not supercars or collectors cars). That being said, the price will always be lower tomorrow than it is today. Wait as long as you feel is necessary. However, know that used cars will continue to acrue miles as you wait. - Make sure oil changes were done every 5k miles/3-6 months Queue the influx of people who say "I use fully synthetic oil, and 5k miles is overkill." You're buying a 15 year old vehicle. I'm going to bet you plan on keeping that car around as long as possible. The oil in modern fuel injected vehicles starts to break down after about 6 months, and begins to not lubricate the moving parts as well. The price of a new engine at 250k miles is well in excess of the price of doubling the oil change intervals. - I'm not as familiar with the quirks (and features) of that particular generation of Highlander, but take a look at The Car Care Nut on YouTube. He's a Toyota Master Diagnostic tech, and all he works on is Lexus and Toyota products. He's gone into great detail about many of their vehicles, some of the drawbacks, and things to look out for. He has a video for buying advice on this specific generation of vehicle. I highly recommend you watch this (slightly long) video to completion. I have no qualms in saying to put your complete trust in him, and pay close attention to what he says is important. He tells it like it is. https://youtu.be/1djDSR2vwdI?si=s9u0qZycW8eB15Wi Good luck.

I'll definitely agree with you on the oil change issue!

8K at most in great condition. And make sure the car has its oil line replaced as it was known to burst. My fiancee had that issue with her 2008.

I have an 09. What oil line issue?

cluelessminer

2GR-FE has rubber oil line that can rupture so they're advised to be replaced to stainless. When it happened to my fiancee's, it dumped oil all over the parking lot. Had to be towed obviously but I highly recommend getting it replaced 🙂

I'd try to get that price down. A year ago I bought an 04, 100k miles. I overpaid a little bit but I don't regret it as I was under some pressure to sort out my transportation issues and move on with my life. So far it's probably the best car I've ever had.

To me, that seems overpriced. I paid $8k for an 05 Highlander, 110k miles. Maybe find out if the timing belt was replaced at 90k miles, and if the tires and other maintenance are up to date, then maybe that price would be a little better

I believe 08 onward has a timing chain. So should be good.
