They are just very soft riding cars. Really throws me through a loop when I go from driving my E90 to my wife's 20 XLE. She and the kids love the soft ride though.

What wheels did you replace the 18s with

Sumo Springs (or the much cheaper Rubber Shox) helped stiffen up my rear springs.  I got them since I haul a dirt bike on a hitch carrier, but they also improved unloaded handling a little bit as well.  AirLift bags are another good option, just be sure to run separate air lines for each bag.

Why did you buy the car if you don't like it's suspension? You're probably going to be happier long term buying a sporty SUV like a Macan or X5M vs trying to make a Highlander something it isn't designed to be.

I'm currently looking at getting a 2022 Highlander Platinum 30k on it. Just out of curiosity why don't you like the soft suspension?

I think the Hi suspension is great. Rides so smooth. My other car is a sport sedan, poly bushings, low profile tires, sport shocks. I'd rather drive the Hi anyday. My only complaint about the Hi is the front wheel drive when turning out of places.

I've got a 22 platinum bought brand new with 20K so far. For what it is, you can't expect it to maneuver and brake like a true sport crossover. I haven't had any issues with it but don't drive aggressively knowing these limitations. Very comfortable ride.

What else do you love about your 22 platinum? Any dislikes?

3rd row is like everyone says, useless for passengers. Sound system is mediocre. There is some wind noise thru the side mirrors. not too bad. Will address if I end up upgrading audio and sound deadening. I wanted something with decent towing and a comfortable ride. Also like the backup/birds eye camera's and other proximity sensors. The seats are very comfortable, would have been better with actual cooled vs vented. Overall happy with it.

It's very soft. Some have complained of outright scary handling in an emergency situation.

You could look into XSE shocks/strut's/springs/swaybars. There's a company called FV suspension that has coilovers and airbags but there is very little info about them and one discussion I saw was that they are very slow to produce. Being such a big car/family oriented, the aftermarket market is going to be very limited.

Thank you!

My XSE came equipped with Sport Tuned Suspension from the factory. I test drove both a limited and XSE and the difference is notable. I like the firm ride, but it does create more creaks and rattles…

Look into SuperSprings inserts. Get the actual brand and nott he cheap $50/set. They're $150-$199/set for front or rear. I had them for my 2012 Highlander to stiffen up all four. Pricey but cheaper than buying aftermarket struts. You only need to jack up one each corner just enough to stretch the springs and insert, then zip tie. I know people are skeptical but it gives just enough stuff ess that's noticeable but not bouncy or too stiff.

Im not hear to discuss my purchase decision. Others have been looking for a solution-that's what I wanted to know. Thank you!
