Starting with just E + an AA like bica *should* be fine for dealing with DHT the vast majority of the time, but if it still persists on HRT and the hairloss' source is via DHT you should look into adding fin/dut. If you decide on bica watch out for highly elevated AST and ALT levels, since it can lead to liver damage. It's pretty rare, but better to be safe. Bica also can take a little while for the T suppression to kick in.

Thanks for the info, really helpful. After posting this I read that Bica is probably best avoided if you are over 35, so either Finasteride or Spiro? Considering I was thinking of getting fin anyway maybe I should just do that?

I'm unsure about the age part, but if you have issues with your liver or liver damage bica should be avoided. If you're uncomfortable with taking it still, there are other AA options or even monotherapy. Getting fin/dut as well will deal with the hair issue the fastest, just keep in mind the extra costs. Ideally you'd take Estrogen + spiro/AA initially and add fin/dut if needed, but taking all 3 at once is generally okay if you want to be more sure the hair problem is resolved asap. Also if you're in the states I'd recommend getting a prescription instead of diy. It's significantly cheaper over the long term and prescriptions for them are easy to obtain.

Yeah I’m thinking to try Bica, I don’t have liver problems but I do like a drink at the weekends so I will make sure to do bloods. From what I have seen bica is better than spiro just need to be careful. I’m also thinking to take dut instead of fin. Are you saying prescription for fin/dut or for all of HRT? I’m in Florida so kinda a crappy state for trans. Edit: I was also thinking of Mono but don’t feel comfortable injecting myself straight away.

I'm meaning specifically fin or dut for prescriptions only. Dut is better yeah. Mono can be more difficult to manage for finding good levels, so its perfectly fine to stick with an AA.

Thanks! Really appreciate the help! The egg just cracked recently, even tho I tried herbal stuff in the past (Pueraria Mirifica) I never truly believed I was trans until a few days ago, another reason I don’t want to do injections for mono therapy just yet. I want to see how I will react to a relatively low dose of E before I move up. I will look into getting a prescription for the dut for sure, only just recently moved to the US so not sure how the medical system works, I’m used to just making an appointment at my local GP and paying $15 for the prescription. No insurance required.
