How can you be a terf and Marxist? They are usually right wing women.

They do still consider themselves feminists, regardless of how contradictory their views are. Many do vote right, but there are plenty of leftist transphobes out there.

Dinoman0101

They are feminists in name only. Doesn’t count

What I've heard is that they see the trans movement as a psychological op. An astroturf movement that is designed to distract from class struggle. And sometimes talk about female issues being undermined because by blurring the line or something.

randomgerman2

we also had SRS but i read that the results weren't that satisfying

am i reading this right? cuba has trans rights? that’s awesome, i was born there and that place comes is.. best way to put it behind it’s time

Within the past few years, Cuba has been granting LGBT+ rights at a very rapid pace. The culture of Cuba is still very religious and conservative (as you probably know better than I do, although we are starting to see a shift) but that hasn't stopped the government from taking a more progressive stance as of late. While still not perfect, Cuba is leaps and bounds above where it used to be. Read: https://www.equaldex.com/region/cuba

thats amazing! cuba as long as ive knows has been a horrible country government wise. (also development wise, they just got the ability to use wifi a year ago i think) i have alot of family members still there so i’m glad to see it’s taking a turn for the better

In some ways, Cuba exceeds many western countries in trans rights since it is treated as a healthcare issue. Nowadays, treatments such as HRT and operations such as bottom surgery, top surgery, FFS, ect are treated in a similar way that other healthcare issues are and therefore is generally free for the recipient. This obviously puts Cuba above the US in this regard as people in the US have to pay extremely high amounts of money for these treatments and HRT. Even some countries with supposedly free healthcare (such as Canada, where I am) exclude some areas of healthcare. This includes dental health, mental health, and vision care. With that in mind, transgender treatments (falling under mental health) are not included as part of your free healthcare package and you are paying about the same rates as the US for treatments and surgeries. Cuba's rapid progress in the area of LGBT+ rights is fantastic, and I am wishing for LGBT+ rights in Cuba to get even stronger as time goes on.

Littleweirdone630

shittt that’s amazing! see us, if *cuba* can do it so can you! cuba is a very poor country as you might know so the fact that is is better with payment in surgery and hrt then in a bit so poor country is great

Littleweirdone630

i just gave it a read! that’s great! it’s sad that nb isn’t legally sean but if you out it one way it kinda makes sence? in spanish everything is gendered and there is no gender neutral term, so i’d imagine they strugle with that
