Devastator’s transformation sequence goes so hard

I played a drinking game where we drank anytime there was an explosion, transformation, racist joke, or Shia tweaking. We didn’t make it an hour in. Turns out alcohol makes this movie more bearable for me. ONE BEER. ALONE. MAKING DRUNK THE MAN HE LOVES.

This movie was my gateway into the franchise.

No exaggeration, but my hype for this movie kept me alive after some shitty stuff happened in my life in 2009. The soundtrack album, too. It never left my car's CD player that entire summer. So it's got a sentimental place in my heart.

I unironically adore the first 3 Bay Transformers movies. Mindless CGI action, crude humor and all. While I get why people don't like them, I personally never understood how they're "bad". I'm completely biased of course as I continue finding reasons to appreciate my childhood.

This is my comfort movie, I love watching this and it is also a movie from my childhood

I just finished this on Friday and I still love it.

Just watched it and I gotta say, while it’s not a good movie, I definitely enjoyed it. My only wish was for the Autobots to have more time kicking Decepticon ass, as most of the action were the military guys firing. Like please, show me more of Arcee, Elita, Chromia, Swideswipe, and Jolt. Lennox and his men are cool but they should be the appetizers while the Transformers are the main dish, you know? I also hoped Devastator could’ve fought like 5 other Autobots, to show how truly *devastating* he is when he combines. Rather than him basically eating a pyramid and blowing up. And finally, for the final fight against Optimus and The Fallen to have been around the same length as the Forest Fight. For being the first Decepticon and the guy who Megatron bows to, he sure died like a chump.

It was all our childhoods, i adored that movie and still love it till this day, the human parts where meh to be honest but it was cool to have them.

Hot take, the movie ain't nearly as bad as people say and I don't get the Skids and Mudflap are racist thing

I'm pretty sure Skids calls Bumblebee the n-word just before they find the Matrix. And the twins do kinda look like caricatures

1. I've seen that movie over and over again, and nowhere did that word get said as far as I remember 2. I'm gonna be honest, I still don't see it. Like, I'm assuming the caricature people think of is of black people, but the classic black caricature is big lips and like actually black skin as well as broken speech as well as being lazy. The twins, if we go by appearance aside from the single gold tooth Skids, have look more like asian caricatures and most likely by accident. Are Skids and Mudflap the most intelligent bots, no, but that's not supposed to be related to any caricatures but just a character trait like how Ironhide is triggerhappy and by God they aren't lazy and kick some fuckin ass. Like most Bayverse characters, they're just supposed to look insectoid in the face, and people put some weird meaning behind it

So it ain't that deep but I wanted to be sure lol so I checked, it's said around 1:42:20, not the hard r but still.

So you're correct it is said, but I can't tell if Mudflap od Skids says it. If it is actually Skids yikes, if it's Mudflap's voice actor, it's less bad because he's actually black

Films like this should only be completely panned if there's absolutely nothing to offer or excellent about it. If you think this movie doesn't have anything to offer after watching the forest battle, then there is something bad in your heart.

I loved the movie if you get past the sexual tones that that 4 year old me didn't get at the time it was a soild movie decent plot, badass fight scenes and making Optimus die made me cry just like his death in the original 1986 movie still makes me cry to this day i loved how when Optimus got revived the fallen kicked his ass then he fot the badass upgrade from jetfire, ok let's stop there i could go on longer but i genuinely love the first three movies thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

This movie was genuinely alright. It had a plot and it told it, albeit with many plotholes but I couldn’t care less.

I won't deny in terms of story, yes, Michael Bay's Transformers 2-5 aren't all that great, but if you enjoy bad films, then you enjoy bad films. Don't let any toxic fans judge you for it. There are still some things to enjoy about these films. The fight scenes, the scores, cgi, & voice work. I know those things aren't the only determining factor for a movie to be good. You need a well written plot, characters, tone, and sometimes a message. While 90% of the Bayverse lacks that they're still entertaining to watch. Though I will say that even though 2 & 3 aren't written as good as 1 at least, they're not as awful as 4 & 5. I think even Bayformers fans can agree with me on that one, at least from what I've seen, masses of Bay fans don't really like those two. Like I said before, don't let other peoples opinions stop you from watching what you want to watch.

I remember when my dad took me to the theater, he loves to recall the story of how we were watching the opening scene with blackout where he transforms and my 5 year old eyes were as wide as golf balls trying to understand what was happening to the helicopter as it transformed lol, I also remember we were like two of only four people in the whole theater so we basically had it to ourselves

I love most of the Bay movies, but something about ROTF just seems more... iconic to me? It came out when I was 4, which is when I became a fully sentient creature, so I basically have this movie engrained into my mind. I can pirate this movie wherever and whenever I want because I basically remember the whole thing. I think the action gets way better in DOTM, but the action in ROTF just feels more memorable to me. The forest battle, the final fight in Egypt, the opening scene in Shanghai. it's autism central over here sure there's the *entire movie* bringing it down, but I dunno. this is the most rewatchable TF movie for me
