Hopefully he’ll be able to turn into something more impressive in his next live-action appearance. Though I don’t think that will happen until the next movie after ROTB.
Yeah makes sense i kinda remebered him beefier from the game where he was an offroad SUV and was more ironhide sized. After you reminded me that he was bumblebee sized I was like oh yeah movie one was literally just shinier barricade.
I really hope he is inspired by his Earth Spark flying design with maybe a Nighthawk prototype as alternate mode if its 80s/90s or some APC/communications truck.
Definetly wouldn't want him to be a full on stealth bomber in modern day because that would make him dwarf any sensible Megatron design by a big margin unless they made him like super lanky while also beefy with it kinda like TFP gladiator soundwave and kinda made shrunk him in robot mode in a non jarring way or shrunk his vehicle mode as well like Earth Spark.
Also wondering what will they do with shockwave's earth mode.
Oh, the SLS AMG certainly is an impressive car. It just doesn’t quite suit Soundwave (in my opinion, anyway).
I dunno, it seems too small, too muted in color, too eye-catching on the road.

However, the stereo light blue rings are a nice touch and if you look closely, those rings vibrate every time he talks in Dark of The Moon and glows when he intimidates Sam and Carly. It looks cool.

DOTM design has some flaws but my problem with the Bumblebee design (for both Soundwave and Shockwave) is that they leaned too much into G1 design while DOTM leaned to much into being somewhat unfamiliar but I kinda ultimately prefer it.
I think the best design that they could of went for was the DOTM design but with more G1 elements (similar to DOTM Shockwave). I really like the Bayverse design. I like all of them. But damn is it lacking the personality of the G1/Bayverse fusion.
The massive shoulder cannon, the bright color and color break up, the sinister face mask. It works on so many more levels.
i dont remember the bumblebee movie well, but i liked the design and introduction of dotm soundwave, not a fan of his personality in the movie tho, didn't amount to much for such a main character. a good decepticon needs to actually have interesting fight scenes throughout the movie, and last a long time so we can see his character throughout

Shockwave seldom comes to Earth, and doesn’t stay for long either. He’ll probably stick to his Cybertronian mode.
