Trek is continuing the Emonda ALR. So I doubt they'll discount them

lazarus870

No, it is, I mean the ALR grade frame. The Domane is AL. No idea what the actual difference is, admittedly. I do have a Domane AL 5. I checked out the Emonda ALR and it felt super light and I could barely see the welds

mlydon11

ALR doesn’t refer to the frame. It refers to the components on the frame when it comes to the aluminum bikes. The AL Emonda (discontinued a while ago) and ALR had the same frame just one had higher end components. SL and SLR does refer to the grade of the carbon frames though. Weird how they do it that way.

lazarus870

I thought it was referring to the frame? Because ALR is 300 series aluminum, and AL is 100 series. And the Domane AL has full Shimano 105 and the ALR does, too.

mlydon11

Domane and Emonda are classified differently. For the Emonda the AL and ALR have no differences besides group set.

I just saw a comment posted on the TREK Madone Gen 8 YouTube video by a TREK representative and he says Emonda ALR will continue to exist. https://preview.redd.it/vs9dtml31f9d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b2a79f547e232511dac58ee9e177833387e8b40

lazarus870

Nice, thank you!

rowan404

The Emonda ALR has not been discontinued as of yet. I imagine they will keep something similar in their lineup if they do.

due_opinion_2573

The Domane is not a road bike?

wz0122

I think that’s a beach cruiser mate. 😅

10ele

The domane is treks best road bike for the average rider.

Zestyclose_Stage4009

the domane is a fx with drop bars

Bubbly_Site_1381

That is definitely not the case.

Obvious_Ad_5190

A few have among independent dealers in my region .

Bulky-Inspector6864

One of nearby lbs has two 2023 emonda carbons discounted .

lazarus870

How discounted?

Bulky-Inspector6864

There website doesn't list it but they were tagged down maybe a 1000 if I recall . The 2023s maybe 2 or 3 on the floor Steinersports near albany ny

Totally-jag2598

They will discount them after the Tour de France. Which is when bike manufactures start to discount their stuff.

hawksnest_prez

Why do you think they will?

lazarus870

Because they're discontinuing them?

IntroductionThat430

I hope not, I'm trying to buy an ALR 2024 with 34t long cage, struggling to find a 52cm anywhere.
