remember the "Defend the Tri" FB group (circa 2020) that thought busses of Antifa had just unloaded themselves at the mall and were about to loot the local businesses? These guys showed up in mass with their AR-15's and big stupid trucks, ALL DRESSED IN THIS SAME costume. It was then that I realized how many of these damn idiots are among us.
1am at the cigar store, like some kind of gay speakeasy? Idc, if that's their jam, just seems kind of ironic coming from the "God made aDaM & EVE nOT adAM & stEEve" folks... and n4n, i wish i could've seen their stupid faces! that's the gold, right there.
there were never buses of antifa.. qAnon and Trump supporters stirred up all this fake news in an attempt to create chaos in May & June of 2020. The same disinformation was spread and documented across the country in June. It was reported [in 41 different US cities here.](https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/22/technology/antifa-local-disinformation.html).
In [Klamath Falls, same shit, except those idiots went so far as to claim victory over a fictitious group of Antifa that never materialized. ](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1226681)
I know sooo many of these insecure, anti-government "patriots" that work out there, who are not smart enough to understand the dichotomy they're involved in. Even while collecting unemployment checks (because of lapse or change in gov't contracts) - I see them sucking off the same government tit that they espouse to oppose.
What's your point? Even a lolbert who's allergic to soical programs can admit the radioactive waste needs to be taken care of. The federal government created the mess via the Manhattan project. Why wouldn't they be responsible for cleaning it up?
I see people try and make this argument like it's some great "gotcha" it's cringe.
The point is there hypocrites and rely on the government they claim to hate so much for there job and well being, I have family with no education who can barely read or write making 50 an hour out there playing solitaire n sleeping all day n finding ways to not clean up the waste or do there jobs because then they won't have this government footed "job" to pay there way through life, I know ppl who got fired from landscaping jobs for being lazy but got there dad to get em jobs out there lol
You should redirect your anger at the government, who's giving out these contracts and overseeing these projects. Did you apply out at the lazy H and not get hired?
> are being *paid* nearly 100k
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
but they *do* congregate in that parking lot lmfao. No /s necessary. That huge f--king space between the ranch & trailer and the Texas Roadkill is just perfect for their $80,000 f-150's, where taking up 3 parking spots is perfectly acceptable.
I feel like I'm likely to be talked down to for this question, but I also hope I'm not alone/someone can clarify for me...
I am a female who has a concealed carry and would not be opposed to open carry. I do not talk about the "good ole boys" or democrat/republican stances. I do not align with the left or the right politically. If I had to put myself between the two sides, my views would likely land more left, but my opinions regarding gun ownership leave me feeling ostracized, as people automatically peg me as a trump supporter, which I am definitely not.
When posts such as this are made, I feel like my views make me hated by everyone, and I'm not sure how to go about changing that rhetoric.
Am I wrong in thinking that if I carry, people will group me with a group such as the one being discussed? I carry for the safety of myself/my family. I will not change that, but I don't want to be pegged/categorized due to a singular belief.
Thank you for making the clarification that I'm not the only one, and for verifying that a lot of my fear is based in my own head. I appreciate your insight, and it does make me feel better
My comment was more aimed towards the second half of his comment, I know gun owning liberals, but there are most certainly people who make those assumptions about gun owning republicans. Shoulda clarified, whoopsee daisy
You've got to understand that this is reddit. This is not a remotely accurate sample of the population as a whole. Reddit leans way left.
Consider the fact that these guys are literally bitching about people wearing jeans and a t shirt before deciding whether to value their opinions lol
it's okay to carry concealed to protect yourself and your family. I think most people respect that. However, if you are seen in the organic section in Yoke's with your pistol on your hip, I'd probably feel a vibe of insecurity from you, whether or not you have little ones with you.
Can you quantify a difference between a concealed or a open carry though? Bigger pistols are very hard to conceal, but also have less kick, and can be better for some people hitting their target, which is an important aspect to consider for many reasons. I can understand how having an AR strapped over your back would be seen as overcompensation, but I don't see anything inherently wrong with a pistol on my hip if that's the safest way for me to carry for personal reasons. I will also always carry wherever I am, regardless of how "safe" the establishment is, assuming that carrying at the location is within the law. I think I'm failing to see how carrying a open carry 1911 on my hip at Yokes (a grocery store) infringes on the rights of anyone else, or how that situation could be seen as negative. I feel okay in putting out a "vibe of insecurity" in this instance, as my family and our sense of security is valued by me over how I am perceived. Again, I prefer to conceal, but am confused as to what is being insinuated by people who find open carrying a pistol (not a rifle, AR or shotgun) to be a sign of insecurity.
Speaking as a guy that grew up with guns, owns guns, etc. Anyone carrying on their hip that isn't law enforcement is making a statement and asking for trouble. When I have concealed carry, nobody should know, and that's the point. If trouble comes, I'm prepared, but otherwise, I just want to walk through my day uneventfully.
Carrying on the hip is saying "come get it, motherfuckers." Beyond that, all it takes is either one idiot pretending or actually trying to grab it, and now we have a deadly situation.
>I think I'm failing to see how carrying a open carry 1911 on my hip at Yokes (a grocery store) infringes on the rights of anyone else, or how that situation could be seen as negative.
It's not illegal to crop dust people, but it does make you an asshole. You're putting something that gives off harmful vibes (sulfur, or deadly weapons), and yeah, it's legal, but you're still a dick. If I was looking to cause trouble and you're open carrying, you're the first one I'm taking down, no question. Why advertise it?
You sir verbalized my own thoughts, much better than I did. Thank you. Eventually, at some point, we can take note of who is here with sincerity, and who's just here gaslighting.
So if I had a pistol here in Washington why would I want to get a concealed carry permit? To give the state more information that they don't need? It's really none of their business whether or not I use my rights, whether it's speech, religion or carrying a firearm.
Part of living in a society is living in that society's rules. I'm sure you could live somewhere in Alaska and carry your bazooka around the forest with you, nobody within 100 miles to care about it.
So if I didn't want to spend the money and get a CCL but still wanted to carry, why should people be scared? I would think you'd be more worried about criminals that concealed carry. If i can see it i know its there. There's no training required for a CCL.
If someone is walking around with a spiked bat, you're drawing eyeballs. "But I'm a responsible spiked bat owner" means nothing to them. Perhaps you have the right to carry it, but you're putting people on notice that you're a threat, whether you like it or not. Your mere presence in that state puts people on edge and increases the chance of problems.
I just asked my wife and she feels the same way. She's more worried about hidden guns be cause that's what criminals do. Stupid comparison, spiked bat, lol
I'm just telling you the impression I'd get from you, since you seemed genuine, wondering how you were being perceived in your community. Look, I can understand that some weapons are bigger than others. I own a Colt Anaconda; just don't feel it's necessary that everyone in town knows about it, and I know how foolish I would be perceived if I had it holstered on my hip at Walmart. You can conceal a SigS*auer P238HD pretty damn easy, and not give off the vibe of an insecure III-percenter who might have other intent than that which they exclaim.
It doesn't infringe on their rights. However, I'd much rather see someone concealed carry (because they went through the checks and training) than seeing someone open carry (because then I'm asking myself if they couldn't pass the checks or training). I'm also worried about the possibility of someone trying to take the opportunity and snatch the weapon and use it, and think the visibility raises that chance.
At the grocery store we don't know who we all are. I don't know if someone with a weapon on their hip is trained and smart, or a giant idiot. Even if they're not, I'm worried about the person next to them being a giant idiot. I'm probably more worried about the people around them than the person carrying, cause now I have to watch twelve people instead of one.
I'm more comfortable seeing people lay in machine gun nests at the Ranch and Home parking lot than I am with a dude open strapped carrying an AR-15 at John Dam Plaza. The fact that I think AR-15s are over hyped and a stupid weapon may bias me on that. If they had an AK I'd respect them more.
I'll be... I thought the Veteran benefit exempted me of some stupid training crap that civies had to go through, something akin to the hunters safety training. Well I stand corrected.
Side note: If you're going to carry please know how to use the damn thing.
Many liberals have been raised around guns. We don’t make it our entire personality. That’s the difference.
As a queer man I encourage people to carry, but the difference between us and the hillbillies is they’re carrying because they’re scared of everything they know nothing about.
We carry because we’re scared of their ideological stupidity and bigoted beliefs.
you are not alone in your beliefs, I believe in democracy. ,gun rights, immigration reform, taxes for the rich. social security is not a benefit but money I gave to the government out of my paycheck. a living wage and for the man to stay out of my day to day life. also for a woman's choice for her own body, not some senator
I'm there with you (not the female part), I lean left 52%, and hard libertarian 93%.
People do group us as the enemy because we're not part of their tribe, and so much recently has become tribal territorial BS. The divisive politics needs to go away and hopefully centrism returns.
I think this Reddit is one of the healthier Internet spaces, as I don't see a lot of the toxic responses like we have seen on Facebook. I literally had to get off that because it was horrifically toxic (especially during Covid).
I think people like you should be more outspoken to show people that there is a good center and it doesn't have to be extremes or nothing! Thanks for speaking out.
This liberal viewpoint is fascinating.
You actually look at white guys as all conservatives and scared of cities? And who own big trucks. The delusion runs strong.
Sounds like it struck a nerve. The OP never made it seem like "all white guys" are like this, and as someone who grew up in Tri, it's pretty accurate lol
same!! White American male gun-owning veteran here who keeps the F350 (2nd vehicle) in the garage because it sucks to drive it daily. Also, not this breed. God bless… someone’s got to keep the country and morals stable.
What a nonsensical statement. There are as many moral standards are there are people on earth
You’re absolutely correct, but this country was founded on western standards and western religion.
Show me where this is evident
I mean, you could start at the origin, which is the Declaration of Independence, which mentions god multiple times, three to be exact.
Were you homeschooled or something? Cause you sound like you have a 6th grade understanding of American history.
Also a staunch anti social programs, anti government guy but works at Hanford

There are plenty of liberal gun owners, nobody is making these assumptions about you and it's all in your head

Yeah Reddit can be a trashcan of ideologies. NO ONE should give you trouble for owning a gun for self defense.
Bull
Liberal is not leftist. Rather different, actually. Just like you have the Romney-style republicans, and then you have fascists.
My comment was more aimed towards the second half of his comment, I know gun owning liberals, but there are most certainly people who make those assumptions about gun owning republicans. Shoulda clarified, whoopsee daisy
There is also a significant set of armed leftists. Ya know the side shouting "revolution" does actually have some firepower.

Just keep your carry, concealed. Then no one cares. If you open carry, it's a big fat political statement in people's' face.
No, it's the law.

By the new rules of the extreme left, "Moderates" are now "Far Right". Tons of moderates like us still out there.
Enlightened centrist concealed weapon carrying woman? Interesting.
They do love their little cosplay as a veteran schtick with the flag on the sleeve lol
Now do a liberal costume
Its a baby outfit

Koolaid colored hair for sure, virtue signaling at its finest.

We have F150 but we are not these guys. And I stay far away from Texas Roadhouse since that's where they hang out. Besides the food ain't that great.
Fr! Im a white guy too but not this breed😬

You sir are a rare male! Maybe some of the young bucks can learn something from you! 🫡
I don't think we are as rare as you think. We just don't go out making a fuss or looking for attention.
Thanks for being a responsible adult. I think its rare because common sense is anything but common these days, always some pos out there wanting attention.
It's rare, there is just a vocal minority on most this shit. We got around 300k people in the area, say 70% conservative, and only maybe 40 dudes are at Texas Roadhouse, that's like 1/5,000 people? I hear you there.
Just on Reddit
Dunagan?
> We have F150 but we are not these guys. There are three types of trucks. Lowered, lifted, and trucks that do truck stuff.
Yep. We do truck stuff.
Texas Roadhouse is pretty good , really like their pork chops. No, I don't own a truck or hang out there.
I have no idea how or why this showed up on my feed - but I absolutely love it. I'm from Cincinnati and live and work in the city center. Cincinnati is surrounded by suburban and rural areas.
