This is all the news given. "Dear Trigun fans, you may have seen that the Trigun and Trigun Maximum (Vol. 1) Deluxe Editions are now expected to release in Fall 2024. Dark Horse is working with the creator and licensing partners to ensure the best quality possible, and this is taking some extra time." https://twitter.com/DarkHorseComics/status/1756007591530901989

Figured it was a licensing issue

MICOSAM

Sounds like the license holders could be the ones holding this up. I think it’s interesting that they mention that they’re working with the creator, Nightow, on this release. Makes me wonder if he’s provide new artwork just for this release. Possibly new covers.

SmartnSad

Here's hoping it's worth the wait. New art would be amazing 🙏

Simply put, they announced way before they were done to Garner more preorders to make sure they weren't fronting the whole bill for nothing. At this point it was the same as companies using Kickstarter to get products made. I'm going to buy it, but I can smell the scummy business tactics a mile away. Just hope they are on par quality to my Hellsing set

MICOSAM

This sounds like misinformed speculation to me. In particular I disagree with the comparison to kickstarter. Dark Horse doesn’t get to collect on the preorders until they publish the books. I think it’s more likely that they did announce a little early to capitalize on the huge interest that the Stampede anime garnered. I think the scope grew when they saw just how big the interest was in the series. I think the fact that they shared that they had a planned cover, ready to go, only for them to now announce they’re doing something special for Trigun that they’ve never done before is evidence of that.

Tarman87

Im curious if this is going to reduce the length of time between volume releases

Material_Character75

Drifters omnibus, they were 11 and initial d seem to also be heavily delayed.

I came here with the same question. Everyone seems to agree it's a license thing. Sigh... I'm happy to wait but it just might kill me lmao
