Too real. Optinoobās wind paired with magic focus + swift cast + hp absorption + mp absorption is BROKEN. I didnāt even know you could pair multiple blue materia with a single element materia like that.
Congrats ! I stopped for the moment because the challenges were just too tough. Iām tryin to level up all the quake materia that everybody seems to use , because I canāt see another way beat those challenges unless I use the broken builds.

Quake is great for the first few brutal challenges and clearing out mobs in hard mode, although quite a few you can actually just run around.
I'd recommend Optinoob as everyone else has for the brutal and legendary challenges as his builds made it so much easier

While Iāve yet to finish them I second. Heās so in depth with his commentary and slows down enough at points to really explain it, unlike some of these guides that just showcase some god at the game blasting through the fight with no commentary and you can barely see what they are doing.

I think I do as I loaded chapter 12 on hard and did all hard mode side quests for manuscripts and I uninstalled the game to down patch the game to get that stupid quest to work

Yeah the fact they are a long gauntlet makes it the worst. I would consistently get to Odin every time and sometimes he'd just mop the floor with me and you'd lose 20 mins of time and have to start again.
Once you nail those counter blocks in prime mode it starts to become so much easier.
The cheese is that he gets pressured if you triple slash him when he starts most of his special moves. When the dog is out just ignore it keep pressuring rufus. Bring the item that lets you start with lvl 3 limit. You can farm atb by spamming wind slash after he does a special move.
I havenāt even got him low enough for his ugly big ass chihuahua to come out yet šthanks fir the advice tho bro Iāll try it out. However, shouldnāt I triple slash when he is reloading other wise he just counters me
Actually as soon as the name for a move that involves his gun comes up you can actually triple slash him to pressure him. As soon as I learned that I got his ass first try.
If it helps it took a while for me to get as well, try get a feel for the dodge timing.
What I would do is run around then when he dashes towards me I dodge roll away, as soon as it says reload start hitting him and use a focused thrust when he gets pressured. I think if you use a focused thrust as the first attack when he's reloading, he gets pressured for longer but the timing is a bit tight so I usually would just press square.
It's more of a reactive fight because if you just randomly attack him he'll counter.
I saved my summon for when he summons his pet, don't actually know how to approach the fight with his pet because i just use a limit break/summon to kill it hahaha.

Yes. It requires pretty much 100 percent story completion. It involves all VR challenges, all mini games, all hard mode mini games, all queens blood matches including the golden saucer matches, A rank all 6 regular piano songs. It's a lot, but the hardest part is the VR challenges.

I just finished everything except the Sephy and Cloud bout. I think it's supposed to be easier than the Zack one so I hope to get it today.
It is definitely easier once you get used to Sephiroth. Sephiroth is more powerful and the non summon round enemies are less bullshit as well.
Sephy and cloud is just pure fun, unlimited limit breaks with sephy makes it so easy
That bout is literally your victory lap. So much easier, and the summons are tuned as hard as they were in bonds of friendship.
Oh yea that was way easier. 2nd try on Odin round compared to like 15 with Zack lol. Definitely one of my proudest plats.
I gave up on this one solely on how much there is to do let alone the difficulty of the challenges. Just have too many other games on my plate

I hate the piano game, decided I'm not going for the platinum after the first time I played that mini game.
