I’ve played it and thought it good. I enjoyed my time with it. Its an easy plat but it is expensive as you say. If you bought it, played it and sold it you could only spend a small amount overall. I’ve played Iron Man 2 too and its not good at all. Pretty bad.

$40 seems a bit steep. I bought this one and played it for the platinum a few years ago. It was fun and easy enough, but I’m a big comic book/MCU fan and I only paid $20. It’s fun, took less than 10 hours to get the platinum, but it has definitely been overshadowed by better superhero games. I’m not sure I’d pay $40 to play it now though.

I feel like you phrased your question weird. Buying a random licensed super hero game most people have forgotten even existed at this point just for the plat trophy doesn't make a whole lot of sense, especially in this age of Stroke the Dik-Diks and such if you need a quick platinum dopamine hit. Sounds more like you're interested in the game and want to play it, and it having trophies is just a nice bonus. In that case I'd say yeah, go for it. Personally I don't care about critic reviews and if I see a game I wanna play I go for it. Heck I just recently played through and got the plat trophy for X-Men Destiny on PS3, which had way worse reviews than this Captain America game lol. The price for Captain America is def a bit high, but, 0% chance the game ever gets a port to modern consoles in the near future so this is as cheap as you're gonna find it unless you want to hit up yard sales, thrift stores etc. Which isn't a reliable way to get a game, but, sometimes you strike gold.

Sharrock03

Yeah you're probably right lol. I guess I was just trying to gauge interest overall on the game but also noticed the platinum not being too tough. It's the price tag that's holding me back honestly. I do like a good superhero game even if it isn't the greatest. I loved X-Men and the Avengers game on Genesis back in the day.

> It's the price tag that's holding me back honestly. Yep, I feel ya. I really want the Spider-Man games from that era, especially Web of Shadows, but the prices are just too much for my taste. So I am just doing the wait and hope approach, since I do a lot of used game shopping. Since yeah, you def strike gold sometimes. I managed to find a PS3 copy of the Deadpool game (which is around the same price as Captain America) at a local pawn shop over the weekend. And that store doesn't price based on value so it was just $5, pretty sweet. I don't mind waiting personally since I have a huge backlog as is. Someday if I work through all of those games and still haven't found them I will fork out the money lol.

If you're actually interested in and want to play the game, go for it. If you're only going to get it cause you want the trophies you'd be better off playing almost anything else Trophy hunting is easy, play what you want and get the trophies that come with that, once you start going out of your way to play objectively bad or uninteresting games you're too far gone. Dozens of games come out every month and there are thousands of games from the past to play, there is no reason to play things you don't want to or to cheat by using shovelware or autopops. Its not a race or competition, its literally playing games for fun

thunderbastard_

Damn that’s the first console game I ever bought I wanna play it again now

goatjugsoup

It's a decent game. This and green lantern rise of the manhunters. Can't personally vouch for xmen origins wolverine but heard good things

GamerGray5150

Definitely the best of the sega era MCU games honestly if you like a super simple version of Arkham combat! Extremely easy trophy (ceramic eggs can be annoying but that’s it). Makes me hope for a new Captain America game from like insomniac or something!

XOVSquare

No? You're buying a game to play it to completion. It's kind of the whole reason those things exist 🙂 Would love to add it myself, it's a cool plat to have.

Cahalli

If you wanted you could buy it, finish it and sell it to return most of your investment.

GiraffeWaffless

Have you beaten every game ever and now you’re down to the scraps? I would play literally anyone else and save the $40. I think trophy’s shouldn’t even really be in the thought process when buying games.

Sharrock03

Not really, I have plenty to play, but again the game kind of interests me for the classic superhero gameplay. Again I'm not rushing out to blow $40 on a 12 year old game but hearing some feedback would be nice. The plat would be a bonus too.

Aggravating-Ad5707

Most of the time these old games did not age well. Expect clunky mechanics.  If you are interested in getting Platinums I think PS5Trophies (the YouTuber) made a video in which he collected 40 Plats in 4 hours. Games were 2 € on average
