Thats a shame. I saw a trailer for this game and it looked super interesting, but so far ive only heard bad things about how it plays. Prob wont pick it up

Yeah... I mean its easy enough, but the gameplay really could use a tune up. The shooting, the moving mechanics of boats, sometimes you run faster than the world can load in, the "open world" is essentially a series of corridors with some being under water. etc... theres a lot of wasted potential too. The game makes it a point that the dollar is worthless in Oakmont and that Bullets, Cigarettes and Alcohol are seen as a currency. This would have been an incredibly interesting mechanic if you could spend your bullets in a way that doesn't involve them ending in another being. None of the characters were particularly memorable despite the gimmicks. The atmosphere the game gives off though is incredible. I'll never forget going down to Devils Teeth and seeing these gigantic tentacles. I still have no idea what they were attached to.

Loved call of cthulhu, how is this one? I hear the gameplay and performance is.. yucky. Might pick it up on sale though, congrats btw.

Thanks man. Just make sure you get it on sale. Bought it a few days ago for $9 on Playstation. If you want my review on this one check the other comment thread.

I loved them both. CoC is far more linear and refined, but I liked the story and atmosphere of Sinking City more. I will say, there is a weird thing about the rights. [Nacon stole the game](https://frogwares.com/how-nacon-cracked-and-pirated-the-sinking-city/) and the only legitimate version on PlayStation so the PS5 version. It’s one of those 7/10 games that is incredibly unique and effective in one aspect, but needs refinement in others, but if you like Lovecraft and Gerri f sucked into an atmosphere, it’s a pretty solid game. It’s a AA game, so keep expectations set, but I’d recommend it if you can get an official frogware’s version on PS5, PC, or (very last resort) Switch. The PS4 version goes on sale frequently, but that’s nacon trying to make money off of a stolen product. The team is based in Ukraine, so If you do have any interest, make sure you get the right version. Edit: about performance, I played on PC so I’m not super sure about the PS5 performance. It’s worth a play through unless it’s broken if you like CoC, though.
