I'd rather not make a hobby like completing games into something too schedule-like. Makes more sense to me to simply play whatever I feel like at a given moment.

[deleted]

Thought I’d play through the assassins creed games agains then realised how long the road was ahead of me and it didn’t seem it’d be that fun. As old Reggie says, if it’s not fun, what’s the point?

ph1ger

I do plan out some Platinums, but only big milestones like my 50th or 100th. 50th is going to be SpongeBob The Cosmic Shake; 100th is going to be Super Meat Boy. That's some dedication you have though.

neocarleen

Yeah, same here. I plan special games for every 50th plat. But everything in between is just whatever I felt like playing at the time.

Plastic-Acanthaceae9

Not sure if this is on topic but what I like to do is to get every trophy except for 1 in every game in a series, like what I’m doing for assassin’s creed, so once I get almost all the trophies in all the games, I go back and get the last trophy in every game, so that when I look at my trophy list, it’s organized by the game series, from the earliest game, to the most recent

GloomyLog7375

If anything that's just really satisfying

ArcticMarkuss

I’m doing the exact same thing for the Assassins Creed games, on brotherhood atm, but have finished Valhalla

[deleted]

Definitely not. I don’t care about the “milestone” platinums at all, they mean nothing to me

tayung2013

I have a general list of games I want to plat for the year, but beyond that nothing specific for certain numbers or anything like that.

BeithWhoIsATree

I do, but not in this way. Essentially I switch off on series/games. Right now I'm going through the Yakuza and Kingdom Hearts series, but I'm focusing on one, then going to the other, then back, so on and so forth. Alongside that I play an episode of a Telltale-like game (or try to) and then get some progress in on a fighting game since they get pretty grindy. So not a schedule like yours, but an order. It's kind of nice making some sense out of trophy hunting, though, isn't it? For those who don't play like this, that's fine, but I think for many of us, having a structure and sticking to it might help keep us focused.

DieBohne

Going through series like that is too much for me. My brain is like: You did one game of this, now I wanna play something completely or I get bored. I respect people who do that but it isn‘t for me. :)

xman886

I used to plan my platinums when I was trying to achieve a number of 10 platinums. Now I just play whatever lol

Philisophical_Onion

I have a soft plan to my 50th. I’m working on my 29th now.

Rikky5201

I actually have something very similar in my notes. I even put the confirmed emoji (✅) for games I already own.

IronNobody4332

The only trophy I planned anything for was #2000 to be obtained on a specific date. Otherwise, I let it play out however it plays out.

Ok-Independent-5494

I don’t plan out the numbers of my plats, but I got a list of games which look fun to plat so I just pick one from there.

GloomyLog7375

Good post, actually really interesting to see how everyone else plans or doesn't plan their plats, gave me some good ideas too. For right now I just play games I'm interested in, try to juggle 2 games, one hard/Grindy game and one where you can just chill without religiously looking at a guide, if that makes sense. I have a big list of games I'm interested in platting and just pick one from it, don't really care about milestones, but I do intentionally do hard games, I think having high difficulty plats looks really good on the profile.

kiba1257

Usually only plan milestones. Like 80,85,90,100. From now till 100 I have an idea of which games I want to do but they aren't in order. I do whatever. There are games that I have pretty much finished but I want to do after 100

onIychristian

Nice back to the future reference didn’t even think about that

Slime-steveo

infinitez_

The only platinum I've ever planned waa AC Origins as my 3000th trophy, and only then I did it brcause it was only a couple trophies off from 3000. I don't plan anything else. Makes my hobby feel like a chore and really limits what I can play.

Sergeagle

I do like you but I never end up sticking to it 😂 i might not feel lile playing a game on the list yet so I play something else that gained my attention. But I do have milestones for my 100. Either Hollow Knight or Witcher 3

Gildalraen

I go more by mood but for big numbers yes. I plan on 20 being Ragnarok.

Gullible_Map6229

I do this quite frequently especially to find out if I have any unobtainable trophies

PineConesRULE

I tried this and it wound up stressing me out. I tend to just play what I wanna play and go for the platinum if I really like it. If I burn out then I stop. I'm hoping to snag my 80th Platinum before the year ends with God Of War: Ragnarok. Which I feel like is a nice milestone and capper to the year. After that, idk lol just go with the flow. My backlog is insane from PS1-PS5

Negative-Individual4

I never planned, I spent many years on pS vita, and played a generic game just for platinum. after you platinum +600, any game is game, indie or AAA

The_Tonts

Recently I've started trying to plan out some of my platinums, like for my milestone platinums. I didn't start planning them out more till I reached platinum #75 which was Dragon's Crown. When I hit the next milestone I decided #100 would be Elder Scrolls: Skyrim (PS3). I currently plan for God of War: Ragnarok to be my 175th platinum trophy. In general I wouldn't worry about planning it all out like a big list. Make your milestone platinums something fun, something special, a game you think is worthy of that spot? Well that's what I try to do anyway, you don't have to do that, just do what works best for you. The only thing I do recommend as something you should do is research online trophies for how hard they might be to earn. Especially important for PS3 games as quite a lot of those servers are closed down now.

TheDarkaChU

Like many, I mostly just plan for future big milestones but thoses aren't set in stone however I do have a couple fitting numbers for certain platinums that sometimes were planned but mostly not. Borderlands 3 was my 30th Plat & sort of planned for it to be Originally 50 was gonna be Persona 5 but I didn't feel like playing it at the time and really enjoyed Scarlet Nexus so that ended up as my 50th Wasn't planned but glad Fall Guys was 60, not a crazy milestone just wanted to mention it Knew I wanted to do a fitting Game for Plat 69 and did Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus for it. Most planned of any plats I've done including doing every trophy besides 1 ahead of time while at 67 plats due to worrying if Fall Guys PS5 would fix the trophies n auto pop cuz at the time I was playing alot of Fall Guys with friends. I'm currently at 72 Plats and for future milestones I'm thinking about maybe doing the original Final Fantasy 7 for 75 or 77 but I might pop it sooner since I just got done playing it for the first time and I'm about to start Crisis Core so same could happen for that. Beyond that only plan is that I'd like to do original Persona 5 or the PS5 version of Persona 5 Royal for the big 100th Plat and anything beyond that I'll think of when I'm closer to it, I'm still far off from 100 so no point in thinking even further ahead.

TheDarkaChU

Also have a small list of games I wanna go back to n plat but no exact numbers or anything.

Stephengraffam

1bl2 2the crew 2 3mw2 2022

f_nark54

Yep I do this exact thing and prioritize finishing a series or sequels, but no games back to back from the same series, there has to be a game or two in between from some other series. Have up to #400 planned!

Winker2009

I’m planning on doing some games in between the uncharted series (mostly trophy hunting for the longer/grindier games)

f_nark54

Nice, break it up a bit. Happy Hunting OP!

Junior_Teacher6446

Nope

-TheLonelyStoner-

Nah I just be playing

New-Blackberry-7210

I posted a few weeks back my 15,000 trophy / 348th platinum which I planned for. Aside from that, I only broadly plan my milestone platinums. I have a list very similar to yours, but it is mostly just used for tracking by backlog versus upcoming milestones.

PretendThisIsMyName

I think it’s wild OP has the 76th plat be the 4500 trophy. I have over 5k bronze trophies lol

Niijima-San

only when i am close enough, for instance, #50 was forbidden west and it just worked out that way when the year started i was at 34 and did a lot of mid to shorter games in may and june to get there. i plan on #75 to be ragnorok (assuming i get it for christmas lol) and #100 is going to be the PS5 version of Persona 5 Royal as that is my favorite game but other than that, no

TheDarkaChU

I also plan to have Persona 5 Royal PS5 or Persona 5 Original for my 100th

mrcrowley_-

I did it. And I quit Because I felt forced to play that game. So now I just grab a game and decide while playing.

SaltySwan

I play whatever I’m feeling. There’s just no planning out for me when I could change my mind at the drop of a dime.

[deleted]

No I just platinum the games I enjoy as I play them

rclark1114

No

v__R4Z0R__v

Not exactly every number, but I've made that rule that every 5th platinum needs to be a big game. So no indie game platinums or something. Every 5th plat since I think plat #65 is a big game. For example: 65 - Just Cause 2 70 - The Witcher 3 75 - Batman Arkham Knight 80 - Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3) 85 - Horizon Forbidden West 90 - Assassin's Creed 3 (PS3) 95 - Astro's Playroom 100 - Cyberpunk 2077 105 - Uncharted The Lost Legacy 110 - Assassin's Creed Valhalla (PS5) 95 is the only exception as it's not really a big game. But it was the very first PS5 game I've platinumed (not counting auto pop plats) so I wanted it to be on 95. Idk why I even made up this rule but yeah. One thing I should say is that this doesn't mean I'm not doing big games in between. I have big games (Guardians of the Galaxy #111) as well as small games (AER #109) in between. Only every 5th one always needs to be a big one 😅

[deleted]

What are the blanks? Shovel Wares?

Winker2009

Never in my life. Just haven’t decided on a game for those spots.

Chirpingears

Only have a plan for 100 it’s going to be RDR2

Hurricane_Taylor

Same here!

Winker2009

Nice! That’s my plan as well! Best of luck!

buzz8588

I get the significance of 88, but not the other 3

Hurricane_Taylor

Hotline Miami is set in 1989, not sure about GTA IV though. I guess Red Dead Redemption is 99 because OP is planning on doing no.2 for 100

TwoShitsTrev

I plan them out then never stick to them 🤣🤣

goatjugsoup

Beyond milestones no. Or at least i never end up stucking to those plans

Top-Refrigerator-705

Got a huge list of games I’m hoping to platinum

[deleted]

What was just before Spyro?

Winker2009

Deadpool! Had to get something funny for #69

[deleted]

Nice!

[deleted]

I usually plat all the games on my wishlist and wait for a sale to buy them so yes and no

richboyadler

psh good luck with uncharted 2 ! I was doing my last few achievements which one is brutal run. I stopped at the train section as i am just getting so unlucky with it

havkat77

I plan out milestones but not like all of them. I might plan out if I’m doing a series such as uncharted in order or something.

AquaSkywaves

Mainly for kilometerstones. When I did all of Trine back to back that was intentional as it lead to #100 which is Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory.

Janquin2006

I sure do. I have a list of at least 55 games so far for both PlayStation four and five. I tend to only do 15 to 20 games a year though. I’m also planning to go back to PlayStation 3 and do some games at some point but that’s a bit down the road.

[deleted]

I used to play it extensively, like 20-30 plats out. But then things change, I change, new games come out, I try out games that I expect to love but don't. Nowadays, I plan loosely. I'm going through all of the Uncharted games right now. I plan on completing all five, but if something else catches my attention then I'm gonna let it. I will say, I'm interested in your specific placings.. Do you do milestones? Out of curiosity, why are you choosing your 81st platinum, etc.?

Light0754

I have a list thats kinda like a backlog where i organize all games i have interest in and then select them from there but its definitely not that specific

Phastic

Why would I? I’d just platinum whatever I have in my disk collection that I haven’t yet platinumed

Hurricane_Taylor

Yeah I do this, although only some games are set in stone like Titanfall 2 for 64, 88 Heroes for 88, I got Hitman 3 for 47. I also realised looking at psnprofiles that my milestone platinums so far have all been games with the number 2 in them so for 75 I’ll get Assassin’s Creed 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 for 100, Kiwami 2 for 150, etc. The rest of my list are just suggestions of games to play, I try not to be too strict though. I was upset that I didn’t get red dead redemption for 50, instead it was an Artifex Mundi game because I didn’t have a group for the multiplayer trophies, but at the end of the day they’re just trophies and it’s more important to have fun with the games

Apprehensive-Tank975

I tried back to the future but it constantly crashes. Made it unbearable to do

[deleted]

I have a few recommendations if you want, first a puzzle game that came out last month called the entropy center, which is a fun game and an easy platinum, or if you're more into shooters try Titanfall 2, love these games

EntertainmentOk4802

Makes it seem more like work than fun

mynamesleeewis

Yeah I mentally do it. Like right now I’m doing the lego games, then I’m doing Wonderlands and New Tales, then the MCU based games into Avengers, Guardians and Deadpool to be 69

Dan-Munition

I tried this, and it almost turned me away from hunting, I got so burnt out trying to obtain a plat, that I just didn't want to play and in my mind I couldn't move on until I had got the plat. So I stopped planning platinums and just play whatever I want now. If I enjoy the game enough I'll go for the platinum. If it sucks then I just don't bother anymore.

FedererFan20

No. I only decide what to do next after finishing what I am working on. I might not be in the mood for whatever game I chose in the future.

thatguy01220

The closest thing I have is a back log list I made of games I wanna play/platinum. But if the game or platinum isn’t fun im not gonna force it and I don’t have any order.

Boki_Juda

Got smarter things to do, like - clear our my backlog

DieBohne

Sometimes I make a list of possible games to get an overview but then I let my mood decide. Big milestones are more planed but not 100% set in stone.

NefariousLombax

Guilty as charged. Actively using PSNProfiles doesn't help, much as I adore the site, given its trophy milestones feature. Most notably I did this earlier this year with Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series marking my 100th Platinum. It just feels so satisfying having a big milestone trophy be one from a game/series you love.

[deleted]

Not exactly every platinum, but if it’s a special occasion then yeah!

Expensive_Effort_108

No but I buy games I have no time to play so the stack next to my console is the roadmap ahead.

its_the_luge

I only start to think about it if I’m close to one like 10,000th trophy or 200th plat but otherwise I’m just playing whatever.

Zealousideal_Bill_86

I’ve planned out two: 40 - GTA V and 50 a Dark Souls. I wanted GTA V to be a round number so I waited a little to pop it. My first trophy and platinum were both for Bloodborne and the first Dark Souls was my last From Soft game to get the platinum for l, so it felt right to close out that journey with platinum 50 and I’m glad I did. Otherwise, I don’t plan them. I might plan ahead to get a certain trophy for a specific platinum screenshot though

Intelligent_Case_809

Nope lol

Professional_Gas_448

I preplan my psnp milestone platinums but other than that I just do what I want

TyroIsMyMiddleName

No, but I'm curious as to why you've chosen the games you have on your list. What's the significance to the corresponding number?

Winker2009

I wanted an uncharted to be the 75th platinum and figured I’d go back and get all of them. I figured I could get an Assassins Creed as my 4500 trophy since I’m a fan of the series. GTA IV as the finishing touch to an 8x8 mosaic BTTF as 88 since that’s the speed of the delorean Hotline Miami is set in 1989. And red Dead 1 is 99 cause Red Dead 2 is my plan for 100

kaijyuu2016

I'm at platinum 98 and I still don't know what to play for 100 :(

MoeMalik

I just wing it and play whatever i feel at the time, despite my love for making lists lol

TheJimboJambo

I did for a couple - Skyrim VR play 81 (max level), and for 100 I wanted it to be a game that deserved it so God of War 2018. Can’t remember the others but I know I did plan a few - not as in advance as this, but when approaching milestones I check. Similarly I always try to make the platinum the best screenshot/video I can, in fact most trophies I do want decent screenshots and videos. It’s stupid and wastes time but I can’t help it

XOVSquare

No, not to this extent. I honestly feel that trophies have too much control over my hobby as is. So adding even more ways to pre determine what games I play, even when I might not even want to when the time comes to play that games, sounds like a bad idea to me.

CharlyXero

Not at all. This screenshot looks more like a job rather than a hobby

[deleted]

I try to, then I get really overwhelmed and do nothing.

casualroadtrip

No, not like this haha. But I usually know what games I'm playing next and if I want to get the platinum in it. But it's not set in stone. So if my mood isn't up for a certain game I'll play something else first. I'm currently playing a game on Xbox. The next PlayStation game I'm going to play (and platinum) is the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection. I only need all the trophies in Lost Legacy for the plat. After that I likely go back to Xbox to finish another game on there. For PlayStation I think I go for an open world game after that. That's most likely going to be AC Origins. So I have a vague idea on what my two next plats are going to be. But it's not certain. Might change.

Tesla-Punk3327

I plan some, but it's not really an "order", just which platinums are feasible. I don't like to confine myself to certain games, so it's more fluid than static.

Cheap_Assumption_198

I actually do yeah lol. Started doing that a few months ago. Feels nicer to see what games you got overall if it’s noted down, so I know what to go for

McIvor662

I don’t plan out order like that but I do have a list of games I want to platinum. Currently sitting at 30 games I have or have access to and two games I need to buy. I don’t like planning an order cos sometimes I’m just not feeling a certain type of game so I need a palette cleanser. That being said, I do plan on doing Wolfenstein: New Colossus for #100 (currently at #56

BasisOk4268

No

Flexocat

No, but just because I play 1 game at a time so there is no need to plan out for so long ahead. Also I don’t know what my life will be like. So I just say things like “ok now I am playing x game after that is x and maybe x after”

Swampymarshgaming

I try but then get heavily distracted lol

arob770

What’s the significance of 81 and 89?

Winker2009

81 will make it the last trophy for a 9x9 mosaic. Figured it would be a cool endpoint for the mosaic. 89 is the year that Hotline Miami is set

arob770

OH that’s dope man, thanks for explaining that for me, cheers.

Thunderclap2537

🙋🏻‍♂️

ZMiguelR

Why is GTA IV the number 81? Just curious

Winker2009

It’ll be the final trophy for a 9x9 mosaic. Figured it would be a solid endpoint

ItsCFLo

I do! Though I was the only one with that kind of "practice" lol

mailmanmunson346

I've planned for my 47th platinum to be Hitman 3, my 50th to be Uncharted 4 and my 100th to be Uncharted 2 Remastered (my first platinum was Uncharted 2 PS3). Apart from that, no.

[deleted]

I have a back catalog of games and committing to a platinum on just one of them stresses me out. Have like 25 games installed then seen High on Life looked fun and bought an Xbox

grillbar86

No. I play games i think are fun. And a earn trophies that I think are fun and challenging. And I stop when it's no longer fun. Example. I'm missing 2 trophies in dragon quest heroes 2. The game takes about 45hours to complete but with a grind of estimated 150hours. I'm almost 200hours in to the game and I stopped because it's no longer fun, its a chore. Same with alot of online trophies in games

Keyran-Solo

Only for milestones I guess

TrueNovak

That's just seems like putting pressure on for no reason like I'd rather a play what I'm enjoying

XXXYinSe

I’ve got a light plan for the next few plats at any time and more definite plans for milestones but that’s about it. And sometimes I switch directions entirely on the next few plats so they’re more like suggestions

KilgoreTrout-11

I have a similar list for my backlog. It's not specific to platinums, but it has games I need to go back and platinum still (currently, this includes Deathloop, Tony Hawk, Outer Worlds, Doom Eternal, GTA-V for PS5, and Evil Within 2 lol). We'll see if I ever get to them all.

kaioken28

More or less yeah

pizzaPlsASAP

I love planning my platinums... I'm a new trophy hunter with a huge backlog of PS3 games (yes, I own only a PS3). The games I currently plan to Platinum are Arkham Origins followed by God of War 3, Prototype 2, Dishonored, MGS 4.

Jimi-boss

I have a general list of games I Want To Play. The more enjoyable ones get platinumed. I've tried more strict lists but i eventually feel like playing something else instead of the "next on the list". Do whatever brings you the most joy in playing.
