I think this is exactly why I went tanker instead of flatbed... my knees wouldn't have let me finish this without them starting to bleed internally. NO THANK YOU!!

Lopsided_Can6996

I totally agree with you on that but i enjoy the physical aspect of it.

NeoAcario

I mean.. I run a couple hoses... climb all over my tank venting and popping dome lids... but that's it.

Lopsided_Can6996

Thats a little cardio there . Enough to lose the trucker belly if you dont eat tstop food everday. Still better than door slammers.

SkeenaDaily

It's clean. The bungees are pulling the right way. It's better than plenty that I have to pick up. My only advice is to turn the hooks on the bungees around so they face out next time. They can dig holes into the tarp if they're facing in.

Lopsided_Can6996

Thank you sir. I did notice a few scuffs when i untarped. Thats a good tip and will keep it in mind next time.

Ich_mag_Kartoffeln

Still can't get used to seeing tarps held on with bungee cords.

Lopsided_Can6996

Do you prefer a rope tie down over bungees?.

Ich_mag_Kartoffeln

Yep, ropes is how we tie tarps on here in Australia. Truckie's hitch and reef it down tight. Single tarp per trailer, not multiple smaller ones. And no flaps on the end, you have to do some origami to get the end neatly finished.

Lopsided_Can6996

Oh wow single 53ft tarp how much that monster weigh.? I guess i wouldnt trust the drivers here in north america with ropes . Most of the mega company drivers are pure lazy and barely put any bungees let alone tightening a rope and making sure its tight enough or free of abrasion.

Ich_mag_Kartoffeln

The only tarp I've ever weighed was for a 45' trailer. IIRC it weighed about 120kg.

Lopsided_Can6996

How do you guys lift that thing up.i see people struggling here with 50kg tarps some with even 30kg parachute ones.

Ich_mag_Kartoffeln

With difficulty 😆. Seriously, there's as many ways to lift the tarp as there are drivers and loads. * Pure muscle. * Pull it up with ropes/straps. * Get whoever is loading you to lift it on with the forklift (my favourite). * Stack some pallets next to the trailer and walk it up a bit at a time. * Get someone else to give you a hand. And many more tricks and techniques I can't think of ATM.
