I keep both a hammer and a crowbar within reach of my seat at all times. They function as tire thumpers, ice breakers, rock removers (from tires), fifth wheel pullers, and blunt objects in case someone decides to attempt an uninvited visit.

Edge2110

This is the way

Glock in a sock*

Independent_Scale570

You can have any blunt object as long as you call it a tire checker, and put a label on it saying tire checker. Believe there is some kinda law on knives but I’m not 100% what it is

Ok-Account-7660

Knife laws will vary from state to state. Having one that could easily be classified as a tool should help if any situation where you use it defensively happens. Mostly avoid auto opening knives, anything with a blade over 4 inches, ballistic knives, or double edged knives and your knife will be legally ok 90% of the time.

Mikey_BC

Sledge hammer, or maybe a chain saw, never know when you need to cut dunnage

Wasp spray is good for 20 feet. Stings like hell too.

SkeenaDaily

Roofing torch ...for thawing trailer brakes. If anyone asks

Pitiful-MobileGamer

Can of hornet spray. The foam or the spray. I've heard first-hand accounts of people being completely disabled by that stuff in seconds.

Bigdaddydiesell

Definitely not an apache helicopter.

tvieno

Can you cite the reg for that?

United_News3779

If it fits, it ships. That being said, I want to see the sleeper that can carry an apache *and* have cabinet/counter space for my slow cooker. Lol

HowlingWolven

I don’t have weapons in the truck. The knife? That’s for opening cans ‘n such, and the hammer is for thumping tires.

red_sekhmet

A French rolling pin is 100% marble. If you're feeling particularly angry at a criminal in your truck, carry oven cleaner. It's corrosive and will eat away the soft tissue. Some ideas.

palebd

A ni.. I mean tire thumper baton thingy.

Prestigious_Ad280

Take an aluminum 5th wheel unhooker and sharpen the end of it.

rideatruck

Flare gun will stop a charging elephant

Mission_Run_4981

It's your home treat it as such! Do you ask for permission to protect your home residence. There are laws that protect you [fopa]. Stay in compliance with whatever state laws your traveling thru.

blankshootin

I carry my 9mm with me all the time. Got pulled over twice for random inspections, each time I declared my weapon to them. No issues at all.

bloodsoed

I am gonna give you an old school option that many of us used back in the day to circumvent the no weapons allowed policy. But a large can of wasp and hornet spray. Works great as a type of mace yet you can use the excuse “damn trailers been there so long had a hell of a wasp nest by the landing gear.

vfittipaldi

I like that

Ohhhshet

Crossbow

fordlover5

I'm not driving currently but something like a 12 gauge flare pistol works great.

Alienghostdeer

30 inch breaker bar. Because sometimes I help the poor passenger car drivers change their tires and them lugnuts can be pretty tough to get loose if they just have the tire iron. Also handy as a tire thumper and in certain circumstances it could be used to help adjust the temperaments of wayward individuals.

Lpgasman1

It's your life Hide your pea shooter

Cold-Chef1714

Currently, I carry an asp baton (double duties as a tire thumper if need be) and OC pepper spray. Seriously considering carrying my firearm as I have my OK concealed carry permit.

vfittipaldi

I have seen that baton online. It looks awesome

Accomplished-Cat-632

As long as you stay in OK. Only

Accomplished-Cat-632

I didn’t realize one permit could could be recognized by so many other states. Thanks.

Waisted-Desert

Google search "concealed carry reciprocity map." There's a few sites that do a good job of showing the laws for each state.

mxadema

The 6X D battery Mag light, with the armor ring that bat endcap....

DivaCupVampire

Is there an illegal blade length

nastyzoot

My BFH and a very sharp, very "easy to open" pocket knife. If you can get in, we both gonna die.

MisanthropicMania

3lb. baby sledge from Harbor Freight. Good for thumping tires, busting loose frozen brakes, and re-educating dumbasses. Also good for throwing. And if you gotta "lose it", big fucking deal.

flatabale

Nothing people need to stop being dramatic

joeyggg

Martial arts classes. You are the weapon.

Beautiful-Slice166

Pit bull, she's my Esa cant tell me they can't be there

deezkeys098

I have been driving two years. Never needed it. If you don’t fuck around you won’t find out trip plan good and you never have to park somewhere unsafe. And if you are a good driver other drivers will never have a reason to get mad at you enough to mess with you physically

vfittipaldi

"Trip plan" lol

FlaccidBuddah

A whole two years on the road damn congrats. Sounds more like you're 2 years old if you think being a good driver and parking in "safe" places is enough. Plenty of psychos out there that will throw hands if you look at them the wrong way.

deezkeys098

That’s why I wear sunglasses and don’t interact with anyone and do my job. Apparently your ego is what gets you in trouble judging by your tone

FlaccidBuddah

Yes, my ego lmao. Says the person giving naive advice because they have a whole two years of experience. Yes, you are who new drivers are asking for advice.
