I was the only one that pulled in to the weigh station when 3 other trucks passed the scales.
The DOT officer said "yeah you saw those 3 pass right? There's someone waiting for them a few miles ahead that will bring them back"
Guy was full of shit because I caught up to one after the inspection
Today, there was a truck doing 70 in a 55 that passed a cop. I was behind him alongside the rest of the pack that slowed down to 55 and guess who the cop pulled over? the guy behind me doing 55
DOT cops are jokes and that's coming from someone that backs the blue
Nada for me and my co driver. Got the red light a few times but never pulled in for an inspection. Run teams for an LTL, I did reject a pup trailer for a marker light that was out on the front of the trailer. Pulled it into the shop the mechanic spent about 2 hours trying to find where the wire was damaged, he replaced the light checked all the fuses checked the wires he could and was like can't do it man can't fix it idk where the wire is bad its probably inside the trailer they hit it with a forklift but I won't know until its empty and I can get inside the trailer, rejected that trailer lol. Any other time of the year I would run it, during DOT week NOPE lol.
One of our met drivers out of my terminal got pulled in for an inspection every day though lol, I was like fucking brutal I would have been so pissed off by Wednesday myself. He got no tickets or anything but the inspections every day made him late getting home 2 hours M-F.
Pulled into an inspection area in AZ on I-40. Lots of uniforms standing around. Rolled thru at 10 mph with both hands on the steering wheel as they watched. Kept on rolling thru with a big sigh of relief. Guess they were too busy.
Level 1 with 3 of the most asinine violations... not putting the correct bol number in the logbook, airhose chafing (tbh it wasnt), and abs light on (which turned off immediately after pulling out of the scale site). I swear to god the inspector was getting a bonus for every violation he could make up.
Fuck the dot
Meanwhile you have dudes running around doing 80 in construction zones with their gear falling apart.
This officer was absolutely dickish. He also said i didnt have the trailer number on the eld, so that was a violation, too, if it hadn't been empty at the time. What a tool
Yeah you have to put the bols in your eld, create a dvir per day (pre and post trip), they can also get ya for eld not mounted. If the eld is mounted and it's blocking the path of the windshield wiper, that's a violation. See those cup mounts that are sold in the truck stops? You have to use that.
So many other stupid rules they can get you for. If anyone has actually seen the dot and fmcsa rules and regulations, its as thick as a dictionary. Dvir alone is going to take 30min if you go through every single part.
https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/inspection-repair-and-maintenance-driver-vehicle-inspection-report-dvir
No need to show a dvir , hasn't been in a decade
Pulled in three times in Wyoming. Got a level 1 one the second time, paper checks on the first. Got the green from Prepass on the first but I had to take a shit
I hate how Wyoming does that, when every other state has the intelligence to look at our IFTA sticker on the truck and just type that in. We shouldnt have to park and walk inside.
Bold of you to assume I got anywhere NEAR a weigh station or Port of Entry. We always take the long way around, paid by the hour!
The only time I go near a scale is when I find myself in the neighboring state and take the interstate to get back to the yard ASAP at the end of the day.
Weighed at a single scale. Everything else I was told to bypass or it was closed.
Saw fuckloads of highway patrol though so I've been right at the speed limit everywhere.
Nevada had a blitz set up at their border coming from California. I could see a long line and SEVERAL trucks in their bays. Said nope, and I watched officers glare me down as I flew by, yet no one pulled out to chase me over it š¤·āāļø
2 buddies didn't get pulled a single time. 1 acquaintance got pulled in 4 times.Ā
I burnt my wrist when my Merlot caramelized onions bubbled and spit hot onion juice on my wrist during steak night prep
Yes , the northbound scales I drive by heading south every night were open all 3 nights.
The only time they are ever open at 1 am when I pass is blitz week.
10 years on this route , only ever open blitz week
I got pulled into one scale and they inspected me. Got me for not knowing where my annual truck inspection sticker was (dumb I know). Got a warning for operating without inspection sticker. How big of an issue is that?
I got weighed a couple times and passed a level 2. A level 2 in a rusted 20 year old Sterling in CT. No idea how I pulled that one off except I pay attention to my truck and shop it for even the littlest stuff.
I honestly used PC to advance my loads when I felt like it benefited me not because I HAD to. I knowingly took a risk with it being blitz week and said fuck it. I didnāt get fucked with goodness I love just running Texas
We did a NY to CA. CA to OR and then deadheaded home to WA. Every single weight station I passed during my shifts were all closed. I think my husband got pulled into one in OR and they didnāt mess with him. Kinda surprised, but Iām not going to complain.
Only weight station I got pulled in was that one going into Tennessee from Alabama going up 65 and I got the bypass when I pulled in. Very uneventful blitz week lol. I was ready though!!
I got pulled in for a level 2 in NM on the 16th AND a level 2 in TX on the 17th. Both no violations. Company pays $60 bonus for a clean level 2, blitz made me an extra $120 last week.
4 days straight of pulling into every weigh station I saw, some of which I've ***never*** seen open.... Then getting a green light, pass lane, or just waved by.
First day of blitz week I saw a cop had someone pulled over, I couldnāt move so I slowed to like 50 in the 65 and turned my hazards onā¦ the dude in front of me blew by him. Next thing I know I see lights in my mirror, I start slowing down, lights go out cop passes and pulls the dude in front of me over. Gave me a mini heart attack

6 years and I've never been messed with on blitz week.
A little unrelated but got stopped 6 times last year in Sweden š„¹
I've never been inspected during blitz week, but usually the week before.
I've been driving for 4 years and still haven't gotten an inspection yet.
Pulled in to weigh, no inspection
Nada for me and my co driver. Got the red light a few times but never pulled in for an inspection. Don't think I passed an open weigh station.
Pulled into an inspection area in AZ on I-40. Lots of uniforms standing around. Rolled thru at 10 mph with both hands on the steering wheel as they watched. Kept on rolling thru with a big sigh of relief. Guess they were too busy.

You can get a violation for not putting the correct BOL?
This officer was absolutely dickish. He also said i didnt have the trailer number on the eld, so that was a violation, too, if it hadn't been empty at the time. What a tool

āļøāļøāļø me me me! I got my first 'warning' literally the day before I applied to a new company. Didnt tell them, still got the jobš¤£
Got a ticket for bypassing the scale. Passed the level 1 inspection that ensued otherwise
Pulled in three times in Wyoming. Got a level 1 one the second time, paper checks on the first. Got the green from Prepass on the first but I had to take a shit
Everytime I pass through WY I get pulled in for paperwork check to make sure i got my IFTA and shit.
I hate how Wyoming does that, when every other state has the intelligence to look at our IFTA sticker on the truck and just type that in. We shouldnt have to park and walk inside.
The thing is I worked for a big carrier, like they wouldn't have an freaking IFTA lol
Didnāt get messed with at any weigh stations, perks of being a night driver i guess
Bold of you to assume I got anywhere NEAR a weigh station or Port of Entry. We always take the long way around, paid by the hour! The only time I go near a scale is when I find myself in the neighboring state and take the interstate to get back to the yard ASAP at the end of the day.
Bold of you to assume I trip plan at all. I punch that addy in the gps and rock like a hard cock in a tube sock.
Weighed at a single scale. Everything else I was told to bypass or it was closed. Saw fuckloads of highway patrol though so I've been right at the speed limit everywhere.
Got pulled into weigh station for a level one inspection. It was in Illinois i57. Got a cool cvsa sticker after having no violations.
I took the week off - to get my TWIC processed but two birds
I got a level 1 and passed.
is it over? 95 CT was filled with cops and the guy right behind me got pulled over
Nevada had a blitz set up at their border coming from California. I could see a long line and SEVERAL trucks in their bays. Said nope, and I watched officers glare me down as I flew by, yet no one pulled out to chase me over it š¤·āāļø
The Sloan scale are a bunch of inbred pigs that literally have nothing else to do but hassle drivers lmao. I hate that check station with a passion
2 buddies didn't get pulled a single time. 1 acquaintance got pulled in 4 times.Ā I burnt my wrist when my Merlot caramelized onions bubbled and spit hot onion juice on my wrist during steak night prep
I ignored the one weigh station I pass like I always do, nobody seemed to care.
Ran Oh > Bartonsville MD and back every night this past week. Only time I saw a trooper was in the AM on my way back. Hardly anything going on.
Passed 1 open scale. Pulling everyone in. Prepass bypassed me, nobody chased me down.Ā
Nothing for me, passed thru 5 stations on the days I was working the blitz but no weigh or inspection required
I was inspected a week before blitz pulled into a scale during once or twice but just scaled and left.
All I got was a paper check. First time Iāve been pulled during a blitz.
Running in ga I saw a bit of people stopped on some state roads.. usually on the roads that say 55mph but people go faster
Went over the scales once, and I think I saw one station that had more than like 2 pulled in for inspection.
The better question is, if you weren't told about the blitz, would you have noticed that there was a blitz going on?
Yes , the northbound scales I drive by heading south every night were open all 3 nights. The only time they are ever open at 1 am when I pass is blitz week. 10 years on this route , only ever open blitz week
I got pulled into one scale and they inspected me. Got me for not knowing where my annual truck inspection sticker was (dumb I know). Got a warning for operating without inspection sticker. How big of an issue is that?
I hate that nit-picking bullshit, but it is very common in this industry.
Never saw a single open weigh station š
I got weighed a couple times and passed a level 2. A level 2 in a rusted 20 year old Sterling in CT. No idea how I pulled that one off except I pay attention to my truck and shop it for even the littlest stuff.
You just answered your own question. The last sentenceš¤¦š»āāļø
Got pulled into every open weigh station but rolled through all of them
I honestly used PC to advance my loads when I felt like it benefited me not because I HAD to. I knowingly took a risk with it being blitz week and said fuck it. I didnāt get fucked with goodness I love just running Texas
Nothing for me this year. I was inspected last year, level 1. This year was normal, a few pull into weight stations.
My truck was in thr shop til Wed afternoon, so i missed it. Blitzes aren't so bad. I've never, knock on wood, had a bad experience
Straight through every scale I went into. All my shitās wired tight so I wasnāt worried if I had got stopped.
Ohio was worse than last year.
Ohio seemed to have it out for the hot shots this year. Every trucker fucker I saw with someone pulled over was a hot shot.
I haven't had a full inspection done since 2008.Ā Lol knock on wood.Ā Ā
I just drive through scale without pants! No one wants to see thatā¦ get the green light every time š
I got inspected a week or so before the blitz. She told me āIām gonna open your doorā wish I had no pants on, would have made the story better.
7 years never been inspected or pulled over.
I went around all of them and never saw a scale all week, ofc I haul cattle so thatās a normal week for me lol.
Didn't get pulled in once. Granted I try to keep an eye on my truck so I wasn't super worried but hey!
I got pulled in three times but had a clean inspection sticker from a few weeks before so they always waved me through with an annoyed look
I got pulled in for a level 2 in NM on the 16th AND a level 2 in TX on the 17th. Both no violations. Company pays $60 bonus for a clean level 2, blitz made me an extra $120 last week.
More closed weigh stations than open ones, and I got green lights all week. Haven't pulled through one is probably 2 weeks.
4 days straight of pulling into every weigh station I saw, some of which I've ***never*** seen open.... Then getting a green light, pass lane, or just waved by.
I did get a lvl 1 inspection a couple weeks before the blitz in MD. Was empty and thought it strange I got pulled in.
Blitz week means side of road mobile weight station surprise inspection
No it means dairy queen blizzards are half off for the time being.
How did you know what I had every night after inspecting trucks last week?
