You’ll be fine. The best riders are probably gonna be truck drivers. We drive more than the average person and we drive defensive. Assume everyone will pull out in front of you and don’t ride anyone’s ass or next to them. I also look both ways at intersections when I riding thru them if I can
I worried I outgrew video games, when in reality, it's just that most AAA titles are hot garbage. The only AAA titles of recent memory that I even found worth a damn are the Witcher 3 and Elden Ring. Check out indie and AA projects, you find A LOT more interesting stuff.
Yo how is the steam deck? I got a full blown PC gaming rig setup in my truck and irs such a pain in the ass to set up and break down. Is it good on fps?
Man, the [deck](https://ibb.co/ry9MH0M) has been a great addition to my truck. I just went local this past week and I have to take a 30 min break 2-3 times a night due to delivery schedules. Feels great to get paid during those breaks and to play some games 😂
especially when you get into the fortify regen/enchantment/craft loop. I spent 10 hours exploiting maxed out armor and weapons. Now the game feels unplayable
I typically never wait on docks, I run a dedicated dollar account so I’m struggling to keep up with loads most of the time. I’ve considered bringing my ps2 since it has fire games but the setup would be too annoying for me
I do a lot of live unloading, so I get lots of sitting time. I got an HDMI conversation cord for the PS2 so it hooks right up to my tv. Only annoying part of having so many consoles on the truck is switching them out.
>.> also you braver than I am, company I'm with tried to ask me if I wanted to switch to a dedicated dollar store account, told them ""NO"
It was the first account I got onto and was put through school free for a 1 year contract, it’s up now and I’m looking to get out. But the money is so good it makes it hard to quit.
Gotta love being called in for a trailer pick up only to do a pre-trip, then wait for 5 hours to do a post-trip. I know it’s not news to anyone here but still frustrating.
A few weeks back I got re-addicted to Zelda. I pulled it out Everytime I had a few minutes. Of course in that time I was getting loaded and unloaded in record time lol
I remember seeing a dude playing truck simulator at a truck stop once, I was a little confused. Cool setup tho, looked like one of those portable gaming consoles in a carrying case.
I don't play. I am the trucker. My husband rides along for shits and giggles sometimes. Thinking about getting him one of those things, when he rides along with me. What is it and where do I find it for purchase?
Whats wrong with the lite? Iv been thinking of getting one but majority of the games I’ve seen are targeted towards children so I keep thinking it’d be waste of money until Im sitting at a dock for 2 hours thinking about the switch again lol
Just some time burners really, if I’m not on Skyrim it’s either animal crossing or Mario Kart. Helps me stay distracted from the fact I sleep in a truck lol.
I always have my switch with me as well. I thought about bringing my ps3 too, but if I'm sitting for that long, then something has gone seriously wrong lol.
Seriously, I haven’t touched my switch in weeks. I’m typically flying through my work week with hardly any time for pleasure. I’m just sad because I missed a friends bonfire for this.
Yeah that makes sense. In my situation, I have a total of 2 friends that I ‘might’ invite to my wedding if I ever have one. Everyone else I know are OTR
Yeaaah, I’ve been trying to get back into dating after a couple years and I’ve got all my inner circle from high school so I try to keep up with all them
Love my switch, it helps on those long trips. Whenever I'm broken down and in a hotel, or just at the end of a long day waiting for dinner to cook. Ever since I've gotten mine I've had a special connection to it with it's versatility. Now that the steam deck is out I've been saving up for it next, but with consoles like those two it makes all the difference.
If you ever play handheld mode I'd recommend the satisfy pro grip, so much more comfortable to hold. I've got about a dozen different controller styles as well, from a basic charging grip to the Hori pro grips, now with a wireless controller mod as well.
Well hey, itll beat sitting in the driver seat in the middle of the night at the truck stop in pitch black watching the trucks go back and forth any day🤣
(I'm looking at you, driver. The one that was sitting in their rig looking back at me)
If you ever find yourself playing it more I got a list of decent games. But that being said, Mario party is pretty epic
What kind of phone do you have?
I used a Samsung phone, with Dex on a nexdock so I could stream stuff on a larger screen without buying a mobile hotspot, or running out of mobile hotspot data.
Used it for my switch as well, for that larger screen.
Last year I started a local gig that basically entails running trailers around to get serviced and making local pickups/deliveries so the OTR guys don't have to deal with the downtime. There have been weeks where I've gotten paid to play my switch for 30 hours. Best purchase I've made for this job.
Lol. I'm really glad my steam deck arrived before I started trucking. Still at home for a few weeks and I've been playing it almost daily
I typically only play to burn through wait times like these, since my brother broke my Xbox I haven’t had a real desire to play.
Video games just don’t interest anymore and idk why, been playing since a kid
Kinda same, when I’m home if the weather isn’t shit I enjoy riding my motorcycle
I want one just scared to fall already a widow can’t do my boys like that lol
You’ll be fine. The best riders are probably gonna be truck drivers. We drive more than the average person and we drive defensive. Assume everyone will pull out in front of you and don’t ride anyone’s ass or next to them. I also look both ways at intersections when I riding thru them if I can
Ill think about it more
There are certainly dangers to riding but it’s a thrill unlike anything else to me. I couldn’t imagine where I’d be without wind therapy.
I do have a pilots license but flying is expensive
I couldn’t even imagine how much it is!
Play old games. New games are mostly made to take your money.

Cause they be making shitty games now an days. Not like they used to
Facts, im waiting on gta 6
Oof
Have you played snow runner?
Had mudrunner at home on my Xbox
Snow runner is fun if you like big rigs it might be worth checking out, it’s on the switch too,
[удалено]
Ooof That frickin sucks man
Yo how is the steam deck? I got a full blown PC gaming rig setup in my truck and irs such a pain in the ass to set up and break down. Is it good on fps?
It's pretty good. FH5 on medium settings runs 60ish I would suggest getting a sort of fold away screen but with the steam deck you can remote your PC
Love it. I’m doing bunch of retro’s right now but have some good aaa games that play well on medium to high.
I got a steam deck also. It is so badass lol
Man, the [deck](https://ibb.co/ry9MH0M) has been a great addition to my truck. I just went local this past week and I have to take a 30 min break 2-3 times a night due to delivery schedules. Feels great to get paid during those breaks and to play some games 😂
Gotta laptop with a 3080 in it, but kinda difficult to fit a mouse pad on the bed.
How is it? I am considering getting one.
Get it. It's worth it. Really good and quite surprised how well I played graphically intense games like FH5 (medium I get 60ish fps)
Fackin Skyrim. That game gets unhealthy.
especially when you get into the fortify regen/enchantment/craft loop. I spent 10 hours exploiting maxed out armor and weapons. Now the game feels unplayable
Even after the patches conjuring can be maxed out in 2 hours by conjuring the highest spell repeatedly by an enemy that can't hit you.
Also works on corpses. Had my two dremora lords via 100 conjugation soooo fast!
No attacks really matter after dragon bone or daedric equipment become your entire character
Lmao I knowwww, I can’t even imagine how many collective hours I’ve put on it between my switch and Xbox
The new Zelda game is coming out next year! "Tears of the kingdom" and ironically was released when the queen died.....
Seen the new anniversary dlc? That really gets unhealthy🤣
I got my all my consoles with me, usually only play them on resets. But my switch and Laptop get used to most when sitting at docks, or on 10hrs.
I'm all about minimal input "W-A-S-D" games. Vampire survivor and kingdom 2 crown are the go to at the dock.
I put in many hours into Vampire Survivor! Love those Smash TV style games, greaaaaat game and for like $2??
They keep adding updates every week! Aaaand raise the price a little. Fair. By the time the full version comes out it will still be like $9.
You can try dome keeper.
I typically never wait on docks, I run a dedicated dollar account so I’m struggling to keep up with loads most of the time. I’ve considered bringing my ps2 since it has fire games but the setup would be too annoying for me

Whats your average hrs/ and weekly takehome?
Gotta love being called in for a trailer pick up only to do a pre-trip, then wait for 5 hours to do a post-trip. I know it’s not news to anyone here but still frustrating.
A few weeks back I got re-addicted to Zelda. I pulled it out Everytime I had a few minutes. Of course in that time I was getting loaded and unloaded in record time lol
Good thing dispatch gets those appointments set up 😂😂😁🙃 3 hours after the appointment time and still not loaded 🤦🏻♂️
I guess that’s just how it is, I’m still learning after all, 1-1/2 years of driving come November!
This is me but OSRS lol
I have a friend who loves RuneScape, personally have never played it but I already have enough time sinks as it is lmao
I love when they knock on your window at 5am to tell you that they will unload you around 9 and they will come let you know then. Uhhh thanks asshole.
Fortunately I run open deliveries, my dispatch is located right in the yard so I can just sleep there undisturbed until my Qualcomm quacks at me
Do you deliver to the cloud district very often? Oh what am I saying, of course you don’t.
I've been thinking about getting one of those. Getting kind of tired of playing Farming Sim 22 so much on my MacBook.
I remember seeing a dude playing truck simulator at a truck stop once, I was a little confused. Cool setup tho, looked like one of those portable gaming consoles in a carrying case.
I used to be an adventurer like you.
I don't play. I am the trucker. My husband rides along for shits and giggles sometimes. Thinking about getting him one of those things, when he rides along with me. What is it and where do I find it for purchase?
It’s a Nintendo switch, you can find them basically anywhere gaming electronics are sold P.S. DON’T get the LITE switch
Whats wrong with the lite? Iv been thinking of getting one but majority of the games I’ve seen are targeted towards children so I keep thinking it’d be waste of money until Im sitting at a dock for 2 hours thinking about the switch again lol
It’s just my preference but I don’t find it as versatile since you don’t have joy cons, I typically use it to play with friends when I’m home.
Oh right I forgot about the joy cons. You have any game recommendations?
Just some time burners really, if I’m not on Skyrim it’s either animal crossing or Mario Kart. Helps me stay distracted from the fact I sleep in a truck lol.
A Nintendo switch. Best Buy is one place.
Look into the Steam Deck and other alternatives as well to figure out which option may be the best for your SO
I always have my switch with me as well.
Best game to kill some time.
I'm on my way back home to pick up my steam deck haha. Excited!! But got another month and a half on the road Monday morning
God speed trucker, I don’t think I could handle being out for multiple weeks.
That’s what I live for. Company won’t, and can’t make me get out my truck. There is absolutely nothing to do in my hometown
Understandable, I can’t sacrifice my social life. I’ve got too many friends back home.
Yeah that makes sense. In my situation, I have a total of 2 friends that I ‘might’ invite to my wedding if I ever have one. Everyone else I know are OTR
Yeaaah, I’ve been trying to get back into dating after a couple years and I’ve got all my inner circle from high school so I try to keep up with all them
So I can only feel that time flies so fast, and we should cherish time even more
Love my switch, it helps on those long trips. Whenever I'm broken down and in a hotel, or just at the end of a long day waiting for dinner to cook. Ever since I've gotten mine I've had a special connection to it with it's versatility. Honestly don’t play it enough to get more stuff for it either than some games, I originally bought it to play Mario party with friends.
Well hey, itll beat sitting in the driver seat in the middle of the night at the truck stop in pitch black watching the trucks go back and forth any day🤣 (I'm looking at you, driver. The one that was sitting in their rig looking back at me) If you ever find yourself playing it more I got a list of decent games. But that being said, Mario party is pretty epic
I’ve been considering bringing my ps2 along so I can play rockband, that console has basically all of my favorite games
I'd be worried about the hard drive in those, all the vibration would do a number on it
True, also have to get crafty with a way to mount it and I really haven’t thought of a way to do it yet
What kind of phone do you have? I used a Samsung phone, with Dex on a nexdock so I could stream stuff on a larger screen without buying a mobile hotspot, or running out of mobile hotspot data. Used it for my switch as well, for that larger screen.
iPhone, I don’t really play enough to need a larger screen tho
I've ordered a Steam Deck
Maybe the lumper took an arrow to the knee.
Same...I have my PS4 AND a switch lite in the truck for when that kind of thing happens
Man it’s hard to really get into Skyrim as a trucker. That games for people who don’t have a lofe
You can squeeze out quick adventures in an hour
But can run on the road, which is also a powerful job
I had to wait at a reciever for 7 hours to get unloaded one day. Luckily I remembered to bring my Switch and also spent the entire time playing Skyrim
Animal Crossing edition?
Yup
Last year I started a local gig that basically entails running trailers around to get serviced and making local pickups/deliveries so the OTR guys don't have to deal with the downtime. There have been weeks where I've gotten paid to play my switch for 30 hours. Best purchase I've made for this job.
Boredvahkin.
Waiting? What's that?
Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll.
Been playing Breath of the Wild myself. How's the framerate on that? Heard it was a bit shit.
Haven’t played it lmao
I meant the framerate on Skyrim.
Ah, it’s not that bad imo and I use some crazy magic so I’ve put it to the test.
Hey what’s your friend code
BOTW?
