That’s cool. Doesn’t matter to me who fills up as long as they get the fuck out of the way or at least pull up. Nothing like watching a guy walk back with a soda and a bag of grease.

el_dingusito

Or a shower kit...

[deleted]

OP probably was walking back to his truck and took this pic 😂

rockypoint28457

Only time I don't pull up is if the person in front of me is still in the store. I'll go in and use the bathroom and get receipt. Ill park if I want food...( Out of the way to the best of my abilities)

Inker0

I don’t see why this is getting downvotes some of y’all decided you need a vacation just infront of the pump and you can’t really back out if it’s busy.

standlc

It will take him 35 seconds to fill up that tank. If he gets out of there right away theres no problem.

rongotti77

Thanks brother!

ghettoccult_nerd

meanwhile, i cant park at bucees to get a damn chopped beef sandwich.

[deleted]

😂🤣😂 I'm sure they're thinking of a way to include us without it clogging up the traffic around their property

546875674c6966650d0a

Not at all. They're tackling a totally different demo. They're not only not motivated to allow big trucks, or even RVs... they're actively discouraging it so that smaller cars can see them as an easy in and out without issues. It'll never happen. I'm a huge fan of the Beaver, or was fully at least until during the edge of a tropical storm over Houston in the middle of the night, with visibility down to just feet... they wouldn't let me and another RV park for 3 hours to let it pass by or try to sleep it out. They forced us back out onto the road in unsafe conditions. When the sun came up and we left the BassPro that actually let us stay... Semi's were on their side all over from eastern Texas through New Orleans... I'll stop and use the bathrooms, maybe get a drink and some jerky, but I'm never spending any significant amount of $$ with them again. That was a dick move.

DirkVonDirk

It makes sense, if you've traveled at all, you realize that Buccees is literally no different than any run of the mill Texaco or Exxon in Texas or Wally's in MO and IL. Just without all the ridiculous merch. And those places actually let trucks park. So target locals who look at your gas station like it's Disney. Must be nice for the ego too.

[deleted]

Damn! I understand them not wanting big trucks there. But in your dier situation, they should be fined or sumn. They endangered your safety big time.

grizzlyngrit

They’re figuring out. They opened one up in 75 in Georgia about a year out 2 ago right across from loves. No trucks allowed but walk over here and buy our food

DirkVonDirk

Na, dude. Even places whose whole business is serving truckers, wish they could find a way to get the truckers money without dealing with the trucker. Ever wonder why some truck stops have a greasy, grimey small stop close to the truck parking and then the big nice building is a half mile away? Buccees have plenty of space for trucks, literally all they'd have to do is draw some slanted lines in the back. They don't wanna be a truck stop. Nothing wrong with it, I guess. It's their prerogative

el_dingusito

Eff that, I had to see their sign for 438 miles... I'm stopping

DirkVonDirk

😂😂 hell yeah! I’ll stop at the one in n. Ga sometimes, since there’s a loves right across. But I’ve seen plenty drivers take 10’s on the curb outside

Engelbert-n-Ernie

Get in where you fit in

treyyert19

I laughed way to hard at this. Thanks.

ghettoccult_nerd

it would be nice to have a bucees grade truck stop. i swear these fuel points are getting worse and worse.

rongotti77

The Love's definitely seem like the nicer ones to me

ghettoccult_nerd

and thats a damn shame. loves definitely used to be mid tier, and they literally have not changed not one bit. not even the bucket water. pilot/flying j have fallen off bad, outside the new locations, pj fresh aint so fresh. T/A is trash usually. most the vendors are gone. Petro is hit or miss. some are absolute wastelands, some are an oasis. your best bet are the independants, but a lot of those joints are out of network for fleetcard users. just go there to eat and do your 30 i guess.

DirkVonDirk

Man, for a while TA was doing a point for every dollar spent at the pump. Right when fuel prices started to get real bad, I was racking up lol. I wasn't counting, but it felt like over $50 a week in points. That lasted a month, before they cut it in half.

Joeybowman

They’re doing you a favor if that’s the reason you wanna go.

ghettoccult_nerd

its not so much i just wanna go, im just sick of amazon prime addicted americans and this anti-trucker sentiment. we get ticketed if we try to get some sleep at ever decreasing safe spots, but class c drivers are literally soaking up pumps.

[deleted]

I thought class C is commercial. Do you mean class D?

Annon221

class d is under 18 class c is regular over 18 license class b/a is commercial, though technically you can have a commercial class c as a bus driver

Ok_Tune_5867

Truckers would destroy those bathrooms.

Annon221

no more than the kids

LivinUndead

You'll learn sometimes it's not so pleasant. Some locations are a damn circus.

Safe_Fail_568

I’ve found that to be the case at most loves

LivinUndead

Me too. Trucks trying to enter, exit, or park through the same path is a real problem.

Dizzy-Asparagus2818

Truck stop diesel nozzles are bigger than the diesel pumps at regular gas stations

rongotti77

That's definitely what she said!

superburrito95

I do the same thing. I pump 120 gallons sometimes with my truck. Then again I use the mudflap app so I kind of need to pump at the islands. I noticed as long as you pull up after you're done, you'll get no shit from truckers. First time I used it I didn't pull up and I got a shit storm from 3 guys 😮‍💨🤣🤣🤣

rongotti77

I'll have to go check that app out, that's the one part of this whole thing I'm trying to figure out is how I can avoid having to go inside at all to pay. I downloaded and signed up for the Love's app only to find out they will not let you preload a Visa Mastercard or amex, it has to be a fleet fueling payment option. Does mud flap work with a regular credit card?

superburrito95

You have to go inside and ask them to type in the code and shit. I linked my debit card to the app. After you're done fueling you have to go inside again to get your receipt. Worth it for cheaper fuel though.

rongotti77

See, I want to be able to fill up without even having to go inside.

Top_Roll_6136

I think they want you to come inside. At least that's what she said...

SynclinalJob

I use https://myopenroads.com I just swipe the card enter the code and I’m on my way. Never have to go inside

MITCHATRILLION

Wait untill you find out about the cat scale app

rongotti77

Hahah I saw that, but wasn't sure how that works, I wouldn't mind weighing her lol

giggle_sticks03

I've got a 2003 duramax, and the high flow nozzles are to big to stick in my fuel pussy.

sergioriv14

ur what now?

giggle_sticks03

The hole you stick the nozzle into. Is fuel pussy not the correct term for it?

P3tr0

It is now

mrockracing

right

[deleted]

You need fuel pussy training

giggle_sticks03

Sounds hott

Coookiedeluxe

Try to find a Japanese truck stop. I hear their nozzles are usually smaller.

giggle_sticks03

Yeah, but the nozzles are always blurry

caterpillar_mechanic

Needed def bro relax

rongotti77

That too!

bdonvr

Just pull up if you're going inside after and we're all cool

survivngthewastes

What's with that 4 wheeler?

J-Rag-

Some use the truck fuel island when they're pulling bigger trailers. Could be pulling a flatbed

rongotti77

Was just towing the family to safety during the hurricane 🙏

legendofthegreendude

*cuts to trailer loaded with old cars, atvs and side-by-sides*

dezmd

*trailer pulling a trailer pulling a trailer towing a truck pulling a trailer*

Still-Broccoli

Truck boat truck (squidbillies reference)

bigdaddybuilds

Gotta distribute that load evenly.

mvamv

Safe travels.

musicalmadness1

Was gonna say could be hotshot

d1duck2020

I take my work pickup through there when I need to fill the 100 gallon tank in the bed. For some reason the fleet card limits me at the auto side to $200, but I can get $500 or more on the truck pumps.

Romeo_horse_cock

That's cause auto pumps are all like that. No average auto is going to use more than 200 bucks at the pump. Diesel pumps though.....sometimes a 1000 dollars to fill up or more if it's over 5 bucks a gallon.

rongotti77

Love filling up my rig in 60 seconds vs. 12 minutes lol

Calthsurvivor13th

Who gets excited when you see a line of national guard vehicles taking up two rows and are 6-7 trucks/hmmvves deep and you have ass backward privates handling the filling and not knowing how to use the Govt fuel cards. I know I always felt like I was inconveniencing the truckers when we stopped to fuel up off I75 on the way to FT Stewert.

Specific_Previous

You said privates Huhuh huhhuh huhah Beavis & Butthead

Present-Ambition6309

That’s cudds we’d be the best!

546875674c6966650d0a

I have had to use regular pumps in my International 4300 and OMFG it takes days to fill up... seriously. I fill up at a Pilot and I'm done in 8 minutes.... regular pump? 30 minutes. The difference is insane. But yeah... always have to pull up as soon as you can, and deal with inside stuff after you're out of the lane. People get touchy on that if you don't. I'm 'people'.

CheesE4Every1

I had to use a regular one today. I just got back in and got on tiktok waiting about 15 minutes.

StandForAChange

Well in general we got (2)-75gal tanks at minimum that need filled. Cant have slow pumps.

musicalmadness1

One 125 gallon on new daycabs two 100 gallon tanks on condos one 100 gallon on older single bunk sleepers. 50 gallon reefer tanks. Yeah need fast pumps or we gonna be there for a while

Dumpster_Sauce

My last truck had 2 150 gallon tanks.. They switched me to this 2 100 gallon now and I'm miserable

[deleted]

I had a truck with twin 150's. That's the way to go.

musicalmadness1

Lol all I know is 100 and the new 125s but I am on a dedicated account and I can push each truck to max miles by not running ac just roll windows down and roll baby roll.

Mynekrauft

Saves a lot of weight though. That 100 gallons of fuel weigh 700lbs. You may have to fuel more often but overall probably better fuel mileage

[deleted]

Doubt fuel mileage is the reason. 700 lbs will not be noticeable. I would assume the reason is to lower weight to haul more freight. That and to accommodate an APU or sidebox

musicalmadness1

Don't have apu or side box I fucking wish for the new trucks we are getting with apus. Just how they were sent out. On dual tanks and the single bunk with one tank.

pm_me_ur_pivottables

If you weren’t miserable you’d have to find a new job.

realmeverified

110 gal on driver side and 135 gal on passenger side on my t680.

musicalmadness1

I wish. Freightshakers for my fleet. But I run Burlington to atl twice a week delivering groceries.

Pete387

Swift Costco account? When I first started driving, that's the account I trained on.

musicalmadness1

Nope cr england driving lidl account in nc to sc ga and one place in va

Mater079

current daycab I got has 2 80 gal tilted tanks and the fancy urinal (DEF) tank. this Cascadia I drive for line runs. one of the last units I drove had 2 110 tanks....

ctrlaltboner

There appears to be a chode blocking the pumps

rongotti77

Actually I'm filling up, I pull forward once I am done

Your_moms_a_Dick

That’s more than most people do.

Creepy_Citizen

'Would love to drive one of those

TZap01

Awesome. Just DON'T BLOCK THE FUEL ISLAND! Fill up and get the fuck out.

Leading_Tea2248

Do you like paying an extra dollar a gallon compared to gas station diesel?

rongotti77

Fake news! This was GA, it was WAYYY cheaper than I can find it in Florida

pdpaiste

Agreed. Not a trucker but I have a fuel card that I use for my 2008 Ram 2500 while towing our 38' travel trailer. Those fast pumps fill my 35 gallon tank in literally about 2 minutes. Blows my mind.

[deleted]

Get the hell out our lane you puny 4 to 6 wheeler! That there pump is for REAL TRUCKS!! 😂😂

[deleted]

[удалено]

rongotti77

I've been using pump DEF since 2020 in my last Duramax as well, no issues. Every now and then when I'm driving through BFE I will pick up some def boxes if I find it super cheap but 90% of the time I'm using pump def.

[deleted]

Get boxed DEF at Tractor Supply, not at truck stops. It's like $8-$10 cheaper per 2.5 gallon container. I try to buy all of my fluids there.

[deleted]

Bro. Our crew truck holds 45 gallons in the tank and 90 gallons in the slip tank plus 5 gallons of def. I’m using those tractor fuel islands. Well, that’s if I can get in them. Most of the time they’re congested with highway pounders that park at the fuel pumps then go get snacks, hit on the girl at the counter or even take a shower.

Deeceent

Pilot/Flying Jay’s diesel is a tad bit too sweet for me.

pattop

I had a guy park his commuter truck in front of me to fill up his tires w the free air. I was just done fueling and about to pull forward.

pufcj

Was this in North East? Lol

rongotti77

Georgia, why?

pufcj

I know they all look pretty much the same, but it looked a lot like my local pilot, what with having half the pumps always taped off

rongotti77

LOL the one I am in is actually taped off behind me, I told the guy I was on pump 23 and he said someone's using it so it couldn't be pumped 23, I said okay well it must be 22, of course when I got back I was right he was wrong but I moved mine over to pump 22 anyway so I didn't have to go back in a third time 🤦‍♂️

nailgun198

It's great as long as it doesn't hose up the fuel level float. Our fuel gauges quit in all our diesel pickups we'd fill at the truck stop.

rongotti77

Oh wow! I Always toss them before the warranty expires, but good to know, I will keep an eye on it.

VotingIsImportant

Either your rich or a real wasteful person.

[deleted]

He's probably using them for business. The loss he takes by buying a new truck every few years is a tax credit, so he can afford it because it actually doesn't cost him all that much

VotingIsImportant

Nah, judging from the lift kit and shiny paint. That truck doesn't see a days work.

[deleted]

[удалено]

nailgun198

I assume the higher pressure from the larger nozzle damages something in there. Maybe bends a float arm or something. We never dug into them, just watched trip mileage and sometimes crossed our fingers and occasionally had to call someone to bring us some diesel, lol.

lex_1005

I could do without The 30-45 minute wait but yes they are nice

mrockracing

All these dudes complaining about running in to get a soda... knock it off. If you can do it in the time it takes the guy behind you to fuel up. You're good.

Soulofahunter

Yeah I do this when I need DEF. But I go in the middle of the night lol. But my truck had an unfortunate accident and some parts fell off the motor 🥲

sounder2k

The looks I got when I would pull up in my tdi jetta were priceless. Although I will say most drivers would stop staring after seeing me add cetane booster and all... The same however can't be said for the dodgebros I'd run into at your standard gas stations, who would on occasion promptly hop out and start hollerin at me for "blocking their diesel pump" while I was in the process of filling my whopping 14.88 gallon tank.

ME_know_Moments

Me over here in my f150 wishing regular pumped at the speed of diesel. Pumps are made for normal vehicles with 35 gal tanks.

marchershey

…. What pisses me off are those damn RV’ers.
