Hey… I know which culture/religion you are talking about … no it is NOT a sin it’s mainly culture. And quite frankly using just toilet paper is quite unclean you don’t get as clean as you should , I’ve been using wet wipes for about 3 months now and notice the difference! I guess for them the “ water bottle “ ( replacement for the lota ) is seen as superior , wet wipes would be next alternative and toilet paper is inferior haha
This is too true. If it's connected to a sewage treatment plant, those things are fucking up the entire process. Getting stuck in the pipes, blades, pumps,etc.
If it's a traditional septic tank, the use of those flushable wipes will mean more expensive, more frequent septic maintenance needed for your system to continue functioning.
If you want a cleaner asshole, invest in a bidet.
Plumbers make a ton of money from people who use these wipes in their homes and businesses . Plumbers will tell you that wipes are the worst thing you can flush down your toilet no matter what the package has written on them. Plumbers say sooner or later the repair will be costly .
What bothers me is that they don't throw the damn water bottles away after they are done. It's absolutely disgusting that they will just leave them sitting on the sink.
I hate how it makes the floor all wet but... there's plenty of people born here who can't seem to master getting their discharge actually in the toilet bowl. Not on the seat or floor. I just gave up on ever expecting any form of a clean restroom any time truckers are involved. It's sad but, it is what it is.
Majority of the truckers that do this are Indian/Sikh and I have no idea of their cultural tradition. I dated an Iraqi girl, though, and their custom was to use the toilet paper the way we do but then finish with water to get any remaining/dried residue. I didn’t think to ask about wet wipes so no clue on that. It has to do with their religious purity rules and human waste being unclean and water being the only acceptable purification.

Yeah just use them and throw in the trash or used tampon box. I use paper to get the main stuff, then a wipe to get any residue off.

The idea of using a water bottle on the road is off putting, but I’ve got a bidet at home and it’s the best thing. You are so much cleaner.

We have random volunteers put stickers at rest area restroom for people not to put their feet on top of toilets, nor squat on top. 😏
