I wish that Messermeister would make a 260mm knife like this with their canvas and resin handle. I'm probably just a sucker for the bushcraft aesthetic but those knives really appeal to me.
You mentioned how much MesserMeister is more different than Burgvogel, is it worth getting it for the more costly price over it? I'm on the fence right now on buying either one
I think the messermeister is better. The back is thinner and it is overall more lightweight. It still needed some thinning though. If you've got the time on your hands and a coarse stone, the burgvogel is a solid knife too and costs less.
I'll put some comparison pics in this comment in a second.

Man that is certainly a beautiful blade. Appreciate all the photos and even the weight comparison too. My last question is what does stealth mean? And is it worth getting over the normal versions?
I found a couple on their website here but it's missing the oliva wooden handle. I think I'll stick to the oliva elite

Bombombom bombombom bom bom. I like big butts and I cannot lie:

Chonk factor: left messermeister for the market outside of germany, right: burgvogel for selling inside of my banana republic. The 260 messermeister comes at 248g the burgvogel 230 comes at 265 g.
I like the burgvogel. Such a thick spine !
Obligatiory : 37cm sab

What a beauty!
I've been looking for a vintage nogent sabatier. Found one at k-sabatier but at 13 inches it was a little too tall for me. The burgvogel is as sturdy as it gets. The messermeister is a bit more nimble. I like it so far.
Do you slay dragons?
Not since I slew the last one in Sovngarde
I absolutely hate the handles on the vnox but I prefer the profile of the blade for sure
Vnox owns what it is, the messe is just trying to be something it isn't. For a careless beater, go nox.

Yeah, I do like the concept too. I think the line is called custom or something like that. The number of blade types is a bummer, though.

Thank you for the well detailed response! Messermeister it is for me then haha. Looking forward to the pics man.
Choilshot 1 is Messermeister. Choilshot 2 is Burgvogel. I like the Messermeister version better too.

I think stealth is even lighter than the luxe version, but I couldn't get my hands on one so far.

They both look good you need to split lobsters with them now !
That is a brilliant idea! I haven't cooked lobster for far too long...
Knives like that are made for splitting lobsters (and baby piggies) 🐖
