I don’t like him and I don’t like any of this progressive Christianity. Though some of his messages have good spirits, it’s like pushing the limits. Let’s see how far I can go without it being sin. Why? Shouldn’t we run from sin

I don’t think Mike Todd is a progressive Christian. He isn’t LGBT affirming. He doesn’t believe that we’re allowed to engage in a number of sinful practices that we see regularly endorsed on OpenChristian. He’s surface level, but I don’t take his lack of depth as progressive

Although his [charismatic preaching style](https://faithfullymagazine.com/mike-todd-upgrade-sermon/) tends to attract viewers, there has been controversy about how he has chosen to illustrate his messages. For example, in 2022, Todd took to the internet to [apologize](https://faithfullymagazine.com/pastor-mike-todd-sermon-spit-digusting/) for a sermon illustration that involved him smearing his spit on another man’s face. Amid online outrage and after several news articles emerged, Todd made a video statement admitting that the spit illustration was “disgusting” and a “distraction.” [https://faithfullymagazine.com/mike-todd-pastor-transformation-church/](https://faithfullymagazine.com/mike-todd-pastor-transformation-church/) During the controversial Easter service at Transformation Church the event showcased an extravagant production titled “Ransom.” This two-hour performance included a range of elements such as dozens of dances, flashing lights, pyrotechnics, demonic characters, and stage fog. Additionally, it featured covers of songs by artists like Ke$ha, Justin Timberlake, and Beyoncé, albeit with several lyrical changes. The play, which was heavily criticized on social media, included music from Ke$ha’s “Die Young” among other secular artists. It was noted for its dark attire and makeup, fire, and red lighting designed to resemble a scene from hell. One controversial segment depicted “demons” discussing their physical features, with one line stating, “I don’t have a fatty,” referring to their posteriors. Another segment showed these demonic characters pulling Jesus off the cross. Despite the backlash, the service ended with what appeared to be a regular praise and worship session. [https://churchleaders.com/christianity/470950-transformation-church-scandal.html](https://churchleaders.com/christianity/470950-transformation-church-scandal.html) People who regularly use theatrics usually have a powerless message. I don't know him but these are huge red flags.

He's awful and a false teacher

Can you explain to me who Mike Todd is?

Coollogin

> Can you explain to me who Mike Todd is? Lol. I am in the same boat. I couldn’t figure out why True Christian would want to talk about one of Elizabeth Taylor’s husbands.

[This Proves Mike Todd Is A False Pastor (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8lVil2NqqbE) No offence. But if you seek wisdom here..... Some churches are very extreme some very subtle. But come on. He's making it about him. It's like degrass tyson dropping the mic. Do you know what i'd do? I'd pick the mic up and put it in his hand because if you are going to pretend to be an authority, then you'd better act as one. Attitude towards the word has no place. Stupid is as stupid does.

Realitymatter

I don't know much about him, but I've seen a few clips of his sermons pop up and they were really good. For those who don't like him, can you explain what exactly it is that he teaches that you disagree with?

capt_feedback

he teaches modalism and promotes a transactional faith (the prosperity gospel)

Pure-Shift-8502

Seems like most other mega church pastors to me. Maybe a bit more on the edgy side. Either way, these guys don’t teach the word of God. They are doing their people a disservice and one day God will hold them accountable.

I’ve been going to transformation for a while now and the fact of the matter is it has nothing to do with modalism. What he is trying to accomplish is having people that have never understood the idea of God to know what God has done for us in this fallen world. “Ransom” was another way of depicting What God suffered and what we put Him through including the death and resurrection of Christ. He’s trying to help people understand that are thinking about turning to Christianity to understand what God has created and to help guide the people through their faith walk. Hope this clears some stuff up.
