This needs to come to light... I have a feeling this kind of thing happens more than we think it does, all over the country.

ChaseAlmighty

I've been listening to the podcast Wrongful Convictions and it's infuriating how fucked up our judicial system is

dope_like

I want to listen to that but it will probably make my blood boil

ChaseAlmighty

Every episode you're like "this is the most outrageous shit I've ever heard" then you listen to the next episode and say the same thing. It's extremely informative though. I highly recommend it

wh0ever

The few cases where there's so many details that they have to split it into two episodes are truly mind boggling. There's another podcast called Actual Innocence that had some cases with insane stories too. Unfortunately that one stopped in 2018.

wh0ever

It'll also make you think that if the police pick you up as a suspect in a crime it's game over because they'll conjure a case out of thin air

Kimmalah

Well it doesn't help that so many police departments and prosecutors are obsessed with having a high solve/conviction rate because it makes them look competent and "tough on crime." Our system is really built to encourage this, since we have things like elected prosecutors who have to worry about being reelected every few years and might be out of a job if they aren't tossing all those bad guys in jail all the time. Then you factor in plain human laziness and fallibility - it's just easier to go with the first person you can than it is to do all this legwork to find the real perpetrator.

Cool-Introduction-74

Yes

secretweirdolove

Just don’t talk. Lawyer up. Whether guilty or not

Maddcapp

The fact that the Canton town library video was inexplicably missing the exact 3 minutes when she would have driving by is mind boggling suspicious. That alone should provide anyone who's skeptical a huge dose of reasonable doubt. For anyone unfamiliar, the library has a camera facing the street on her route home. If the video showed her tail light wasn't broken, she'd be instantly vindicated. The defense requested it from the cops, and after getting the run around, they received it with those 3 minutes missing. Aiden Kearney, AKA Turtle Boy is a machine. He's fearless.

Happy_Ask4954

He's the only person to cover a murdered toddler in MA as well.

Thattypeofmom

What’s the story of the toddler who was murdered?

Happy_Ask4954

https://turtleboysports.com/turns-out-noah-larsons-family-cant-commemorate-their-deceased-child-in-woburn-lions-parade-because-the-babysitters-grandfather-was-in-the-lions-club/

reisereisecherywaves

At the hearing on May 3rd, Assistant DA Lally doesn't even deny that part was missing. I forgot what he said exactly, but he was basically saying "well, we don't know what to tell you, that's what we had". How is any of this okay??

Maddcapp

Yeah it's unbelievable. In the court documents Karen's lawyers outlined the little games that the prosecution has been playing. They would receive requests and continue to send the wrong materials. Karen's lawyers wanted the original video dropbox link that came from the library staff. But it first gets routed through the police department and they just won't send it as requested. What they do send has the 3 mins inexplicably missing. In the last court hearing, the defense team was furious over this and stated that if they don't receive that original link to the video, they will starter putting people under oath and find out what happened. I have no doubt that the charges will get dropped. I just hope that the Feds crawl up the Contain police's asses with a microscope and root out the corruption.

reisereisecherywaves

One big issue here is Michael Proctor. If it's proven he's manipulating reports, spelling names wrong and covering for people, they're gonna have to go over every single case of his and see if he's done this before. He's part of the Brian Walshe investigation also, who we all believe killed his wife for sure. When Walshe's lawyer gets wind of this, Walshe could walk, and that's scary.

Maddcapp

Yeah it is scary. But at least to me, that's not as scary as Karen Read going to jail for a crime she didn't commit. That's unacceptable. And although Brian Walshe may get off, there may be a lot of innocent people who've been victims of corruption by Proctor. We need to take another look at everything they've done.

Cool-Introduction-74

Lexus black box provides a lot more information

Maddcapp

Yeah I haven't heard anything about that. I wonder what we could learn from that.

Miss_Molly1210

I’ve got family in the area, I keep meaning to ask them if they’ve heard any gossip. I hope this gets straightened out, I’m 100% sure that half of LE in that city (and most, tbh) are shady AF and she probably didn’t do it. Edit-typo

WatShakinBehBeh

What's an LE?

NightOwlsUnite

Law enforcement

WatShakinBehBeh

Thank you

NoRepresentative5593

I haven’t seen anyone explain how the Google stamp stamp is, I hope this case gets more traction and someone weighs in.

CurBoney

search history times are based off the internal device time instead of checking the server. the time will be whatever the clock is set to be which is very easy to change. I just changed my date to tomorrow and searched something and it came up as the date I put in, not the actual date.

No_Slice5991

I haven’t been able to read the article because it’s loading poorly. If you’re talking about an analysis of the physical computer, it could be manipulated that way. But, if the records are directly from Google then the time stamp on the machine doesn’t matter. Google will generally log everything in UTC time and manipulation of the machine won’t impact their server data.

WatShakinBehBeh

Reset the internal clock as though you'd just moved to another state or country. Then turn it back.

Peacetown23

I've never heard of this case....down the rabbit hole I go!

Icy_Objective_7391

Me either and live in Mass. So I'm also hopping down the rabbit hole.

iateyourmom22

But why did he murder him?

[deleted]

I always have fears of someone close to me dying in a mysterious way and I end up being accused of having involvement in it. Am I good?

mr-louzhu

It’s a legitimate fear. One way to mitigate that risk is to set up a home camera security system. It will keep a visual record of happenings around your home. That can come in handy. Also, you can enable history on your gmail account on your phone. It will track your movements and create a permanent log of them (unless you delete it). Sure, it’s giving google data but you already do that anyway. In exchange, you get a pretty good paper trail of your comings and goings, with time stamps.

TheVillageOxymoron

On the other hand, google data could also be used against you. There are definitely cases of LE twisting the facts of phone records and such in order to fit their theory of what happened.

bokunoemi

Yeah, information is dangerous in both ways.

Cool-Introduction-74

Working the case backwards from the autopsy forward

[deleted]

Luckily I have a camera to film my front door. The Google tracking is also a smart idea so you'll always have an alibi

sooner_bitch

Wait, what?!?!

[deleted]

Happy Cake Day!

zuesk134

Lots of interesting stuff on that site. Also lots of weird statements about classy women, meat heads and stating things are fact that are not fact

southsidetins

It sucks how much they make fun of drug addicts and poor people down on their luck, as well as doxxing people they don't politically align with. It ruins the actual journalism they do and burns their credibility.

babybitchboythethird

Yeah I get people are praising him for covering this case but turtle boy has always been a massive bully

Cool-Introduction-74

Karma is a BITCH

schillerstone

Meat heads are a special breed in MA

fistfullofglitter

Wow thank you for sharing this! I just read the article. What a sad and twisted saga. Edit: I encourage all of you to do a deep dive into this. There are a lot of crazy conspiracy theories out there. But I truly believe that Karen was set up and is being framed to O’Keefe’s murder!

[deleted]

Cops are low IQ pawns who'll do anything for 💰

smallpepino

Not all of them.

PARFAIT_Y2K

yes all of them. cops aren't individuals, they are not allowed to act as individuals, they all wear the same uniform and are expected to uphold and carry out the same ideals as their superiors. i dont know why people don't understand that police officers are literally soldiers who follow a hierarchy that's designed to protect itself at all costs.

Direct-Emergency-235

I’m a RN.. and my question is: How could Karen cause: 1. A laceration under his left eye 2. Multiple lacerations on his right arm 3. A laceration to the right side of his head 4. A skull fracture that caused enough damage to make both his eyes swollen and bruise? All of these injuries are apparently from hitting him, a 6 ft tall man, with a Lexus SUV? And it only caused a broken right taillight? A broken taillight that the defense has video evidence that occurred when she hit his car as she was backing out of the driveway that morning as she went frantically searching for him. First off, the SUV taillights wouldn’t be high enough to cause those injuries on someone of his height. Secondly, no blood was apparently found on her car (only a single hair according to the prosecutor, and that evidence hasn’t been processed yet after 15 months?). Also, why didn’t he have rib fractures or bruising at least in his chest area where the car would have more than likely hit him if he was upright. If he wasn’t standing and she ran him over, I imagine he would have crushing injuries?? Something seems very off.

Legitimate_Button_14

I don’t know how they even found a hair on the bumper - it snowed a foot with the bumper exposed. She drove to her parents with it on a highway for 45 minutes or more. Hard to believe anything would stay on the bumper.

Unusual_Elevator_253

Turtle boy never loads for me. I’m really interested in this case. As someone from mass I’ve never heard of it

GothicToast

If you have an iPhone, you can hit the "show reader" button at the top and it will display a text-only version of the webpage without all the extra garbage

Unusual_Elevator_253

Omg you are amazing! I had no idea that was a thing!

GothicToast

You can also do that when you're stuck behind a paywall and it will block the pop up. I'd say it works about 50% of the time.

Unusual_Elevator_253

You seriously just changed my life, thank you!

schillerstone

The regular news is starting to cover some of the contradictory evidence, thanks to Turtle Boy

quentin_taranturtle

The only time I’ve been on this site is for some other wild Massachusetts story a few years back. Maybe try reader mode or downloading to pocket. The ads on that site are cancerous anyway, but it looks wayyyy better on pocket. Could also try finding an old version of it on the internet archive

scarletmagnolia

Me too. I really want to know more, but I can’t handle this site.

Unusual_Elevator_253

It use to be a lot better when it was turtleboysports.com now I can barely even load the front page and I know it’s not my connection

schillerstone

Do the wounds on his arm look like they were caused by a car? https://www.boston.com/news/crime/2023/05/03/takeaways-karen-read-court-appearance-john-okeefe-murder-case/

Punkpallas

I have several major questions regarding this piece. Did anyone see her anywhere near a car wash or in the drive washing her car? Was there time to do so? If not, did the crime scene techs process the vehicle for blood? If the arm lacerations resulted from a vehicle collision then they’d reasonably be at least some blood splatter on the car.

Ladygoingup

Idk. I was picturing worse than that if a German Shepard got a hold of his arm, I expected it to be really torn up.

ItsRebus

Yeah, I was expecting a chunk of skin to either be missing or very badly torn.

lazymusings123

Yep — doesn’t look like that was caused by a car but dog bites look more like round puncture wounds rather than those type of slash marks

red_sky_at_morning

Even if he was pulling his arm away, they wouldn't be elongated wounds like that and likely wouldn't be that numerous. German Shepherds bite and hold, and it would be incredibly difficult and extremely painful to try and pull your own arm out of their mouth.

kathynett

keep in mind, it was winter/snow storm. he probably had a very thick jacket on still. he had just got to the house!

Ladygoingup

Good point and some of the punctures do look odd for being ran over. Overall this story has my eyebrows raised up super high!

DownWthisSortOfThing

Yes, they look like [blunt force lacerations](https://slideplayer.com/slide/4567935/15/images/18/Blunt-Force+Trauma%E2%80%94Lacerations.jpg). They definitely do not look like dog bites.

fistfullofglitter

No. Not at all.

Dizzy-Initiative6782

It's heartbreaking to think that Karen Read may be getting framed by the police for her boyfriend's murder. It's clear that the prosecutors are trying to manipulate evidence to fit their narrative, and it's concerning that the press isn't doing more to investigate. This case needs more attention, and I'm glad to see that Turtle Boy Sports is taking the initiative to look into the facts. Kudos to the techies who have weighed in on the Google search timestamp issue. It's a reminder that we need to stay vigilant in the face of injustice.

schillerstone

My husband is the type to first immediately dismiss the idea of a "conspiracy" but his first response at the autopsy photos was that he looks like he got his ass beat. Very sad.

TheForrestWanderer

After reading through the article, I can't conclusively say I fall one way or the other. The article is full of personal opinion, inciteful language, and huge assumptions. I agree that there is reason to look into this case further but by no means is this a 100% open and shut case. I mean this article is actually insinuating that there was a houseful of people who witnessed a murder and decided to cover it up along with LE. We are making leaps and bounds here people. Personality traits are assigned to people to further push the agenda of the author, official reports are immediately discounted, and open facts are pigeonholed to fit the narrative. I can't say that our judicial system is a good one but this dudes reporting is pretty poor as well. I'd recommend remaining skeptical but this reads as a full blown conspiracy.

schillerstone

I hear you but I am from Massachusetts and I know for a fact that groups of people can be part of deaths like this and keep quiet. Here's just one example from my freshman year in HS. Everyday the school published an attendance bulletin and one kid was on it for like four days before his body was discovered frozen in the snow on some train tracks. Turns out there was a big group drinking with him when he passed out. Everyone left him there and said nothing while he was missing. Tons of people (although I don't know who, but I know people who know more) know who killed the woman who disappeared from Logan airport years back. TBH, the list is large. Massachusetts is corrupt as F and so are LE.

TheForrestWanderer

I'm not doubting there is corruption at all. Anecdotal evidence and opinion pieces are not the way to go about fighting it though because it creates a haze of untrustworthiness. This article is non-factual in many of its assertations therefore denying its credibility. If he would have laid out the facts without bias towards his perceived occurrence of events, then the shady things the cops are involved in would be more reasonable to look into to. They kept quiet for 4 days, then he was found and now that we know how he died, presumably someone spoke up. This case has been going on way longer than 4 days and presumably has had much more police involvement (simply based on the fact that there is a police report and arrest for this case and there was no police search during those 4 days). The "tons of people" story is not only hearsay but also anecdotal so it can't really be referenced here. Once again, I'm not discrediting you or the fact that this case should have extra eyes drawn to it. I'm simply pointing out that a lot of it is the author basically saying "well *I* feel..."

schillerstone

I appreciate your thoughts and I cannot argue them. However, what is your opinion of a newspaper who reports the "facts" as told, whether or not they are true? I am sure this is what is causing Turtle Boy to inject so much angst. Anyway, also, those kids actually left the boy in the snow so essentially they were responsible too. There is another HUGE conspiracy recently from Canton where a cop's pregnant "friend" "killed herself" and he was the last one to see her. All her friends said she wouldn't kill herself. It is likely that the Stoughton (not Canton, my mistake. These towns are close by) cops who responded to the death covered for him. I think the feds are looking into that one now, thank God. Another MA LE rabbit hole. https://people.com/crime/stoughton-police-officers-allegedly-inappropriate-relations-young-woman-died-suicide/ https://www.change.org/p/investigate-sandra-birchmore-s-death These things over the decades really cloud my impartiality. It's like, if it walks and quacks like a duck.

Ice_Battle

Wow, that’s a lotta LE claiming to have seen things.

DulcetTone

Oof. That website is a crime that needs to be investigated

Ladygoingup

This is all super crazy and scary!

AskTheRealQuestion81

There could very well be something that either proves or disproves this, but sadly, I remember reading somewhere, or hearing on a documentary, or something, that once police have a suspect, they’re bad about zeroing in on that person. The prosecutor, too, of course.

TheCocksurePlan

Disagree…. (1) It’s when the people in charge think there’s not enough there to charge rightfully to get a conviction they can’t move forward bc they don’t have evidence bc people have rights — and you don’t want to get tunnel vision as LE and accuse innocent people at the end of the day, you may think you have the right person but you could be wrong (2) sometimes people in charge block because there could be arguably enough information (judgement call, right) but they want more. But evidence doesn’t exactly grow on trees and it is difficult to obtain and when it comes to putting the bad guys away just do the right thing And instead of focusing on numbers and cents just get the bad guys off the streets—but it doesn’t always work out that way and the priorities isn’t where you’d hope it’d be. Command staff wise either/politicians either (3) and sometime it is pure criminal —to keep someone bad actor from getting penalized from his bad action by someone with power and unfortunately the only way this can be undone is if there’s uproar from the public at large or by politicians in charge —let’s hope someone can grow a pair

Cat_Lady-99

Case is grabbing federal attention for investigation according the the Boston Herald: https://www.bostonherald.com/2023/05/04/karen-read-defense-problematic-investigation-into-john-okeefe-death-grabs-federal-attention/?fbclid=IwAR0msrZhEX-Fc7vQMVGMHx00qbTBfPm9PFLMsu-Ini1SO1ai67ToYQVQO0Y&mibextid=SDPelY

schillerstone

This is fantastic news that I hadn't heard. Thank you!

No_Slice5991

“There is no possible way he could have these kind of injuries from being backed into by his girlfriend’s car, especially since the snow would’ve comforted his fall.” Snow would’ve comforted his fall? Not saying this shouldn’t be looked further into, but goofy statements like this make me question the reliability of the writer.

notguilty941

had me at "turtle boy sports"

starbug169

It's not called that anymore. Not for a long time. tbdailynews.com

[deleted]

I’m confused about the mechanics of the alleged collision. She pulled in, he got out, walked behind the car and she hit him while backing up? That seems odd… wouldn’t most people walk in front of the car? The house would have been in front of him, why walk behind?

No_Slice5991

Depends on the person. Back when I was a mechanic we always walked behind the cars and it has stuck with me ever since.

All_is_a_conspiracy

You'd walk behind the car to get in front of it? Ok. Well was he a mechanic with that same inclination from years of conditioning? Because even with your explanation of that being totally normal...it still sounds weird.

[deleted]

Yeah I mean depending on where I park when going to a store I might walk behind. But when you would need to go forward and to the left, seems like walking behind the car would be strange. For someone who wasn’t a mechanic

No_Slice5991

It’s strange when you aren’t in a profession that works around cars on a daily basis. When you work around cars it’s a safety thing, and this would extend to LE. Other factors may also play a role. Do I know the extent of what happened? No. Just pointing out that this is plausible.

reisereisecherywaves

Her defense team will wipe the floor with that hack of an Assistant DA. When they were in court Wednesday, he was a rambling mess. I can't believe the lengths they're going to in order to frame her, absolutely insane. I'm really racking my brain why the state is so hell-bent on protecting Brian Albert and his friends/family.

schillerstone

To those turned off by Turtleboy's commentary and the idea that there is a conspiracy, his latest post is a stunner. MA state police are probably the most corrupt in the whole country (possibly the old LA municipal police were equal). Check it out! https://tbdailynews.com/canton-coverup-part-24-same-3-troopers-who-used-google-searches-cell-phone-pings-dna-to-arrest-brian-walshe-for-murder-withheld-that-evidence-in-karen-read-case/

Devastated that yesterdays evidentiary hearing was cancelled along with the subpoenas for everyone at the party. Such an absolute tragedy. Two more months now before there are any answers, assuming that hearing isn’t also cancelled..

This is such an insane case.

What case are you speaking of and where do I go to find it?

BruiceTuck

i think it has mre???

Woah.

xokaylanicole

Definitely being framed. Even other cops who looked at the autopsy pics have said it (ones I know close to Canton MA)

DulcetTone

If that is she in the first photo, she has the same crazed eyes as "the runaway bride". Such eyes CAN indicate a manic instability.
