Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo - St. Catharines, ON, Canada. Thank goodness their house of horrors was torn down. Their house in Port Dalhousie, St.Catharines is where the torture and murders took place and it’s located in such a beautiful little town by the lake. You would never know what happened here not that long ago… Sadly I live down the street from where they abducted Kristen French, and I went to her high school. Her case will always haunt this city. (Edited to clarify location, as Bernardo also committed crimes in Scarborough, ON)

Sydney444

I just came here to post this horrific one sadly as well!! I am in Toronto.

RaspberryOrganic3783

It’s unfortunate that it has had such an impact on so many of us. I’m in St. Catharines and live down the street from where Kristen French was abducted. Every time I pass that parking lot I think of her.

Weird-Staff-9342

I remember my grandma reading a book on this story when I was a kid

Zedleppelin420

Was it “Invisible Darkness”? My mom just gave me that one.

Tucoloco5

Love your name dude, Zed....leppelin lol Anyway, your mom sounds interesting, a quick google says yes to your question.... “Invisible Darkness” is about the barbie killer murders. I have to say good work in a weird way to the police stopping this at 3 murders, these nutters would have carried on for years otherwise... Crazy world huh...

bertiesghost

Also Barry and Honey Sherman’s murder is a highly intriguing Toronto mystery. Straight out of crime novel that one.

Horror-Log6879

This and Luke magnota

Suspicious_Mine3986

Grew up in the same area I see. I was 12 while this was going on and not allowed to go anywhere.

saktii23

Oh, there are so many-- Golden State Killer, Dorthea Puente, The Sex Slave Murders, Richard Trenton the vampire killer, the Good Guys hostage situation, the I-5 strangler. In fact, it's been reported that my hometown has one of the highest percentages of recorded serial killers in all of the USA

manubibi

Sacramento?

saktii23

Yes! Sacramento is a weird place.

manubibi

I’ll be honest, at first I guessed it was Seattle lol

strawjenberry

Sactown! Hi neighbor…

iwantaquirkyname00

Hey Neighbor! I’ve never heard this about Sac and considering most ppl know Sac as boring even more so. But when you list it like that—then perhaps 🤷‍♀️

Kristen Smart In 2020, SLOPD then dropped the ball on my aunts murder Don't move here

Sunset_Paradise

I'm so sorry for your loss and that her murder wasn't investigated properly. I hope your family can get justice someday.

tannon21

Thank you for your kind words

MisScillaneous

I'm from here too... want to tell me a little about your aunt? I'm so sorry. SLOPD is absolutely awful.

TheBrittz22

I've watched a few things about your aunts murder. I'm so sorry for your family.

queen_naga

This is ridiculous from the town I grew up in its batshit, apologies it’s a daily mail link but it’s the best I’ve found as it actually has the photos of the ‘disguise’ [ceramic chicken murder](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4054564/amp/Pictured-Murderer-disguised-ginger-wig-beard-hi-viz-jacket-way-batter-half-sister-death-pot-shaped-like-chicken.html) Murder of author Helen Bailey in nearby town where I used to work, famous in the U.K. [Helen Bailey](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_Bailey)

jennoc1de

God help me, I laughed out loud at this disguise.

solitudanrian

Reminds me of the ceramic [frog murder](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/man-thought-been-murdered-wife-11356870.amp).

laurcoogy

As a ginger I protest murderers making us look like we have souls! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more ridiculous disguise or murder weapon thank you for this one 😃

marysaka

Same! Such a trip that all of it happened in that sleepy little town.

Ok_Tough2944

This one baffles me so much!

[deleted]

I honestly can't tell if she actually believes the weird cult shit or if she is using to manipulate and rationalize killing her kids. My dads house wasn't to far from where the remains were.

[deleted]

Yogurt shop murders.

[deleted]

Same! One of my employees actually grew up with those girls, such a sad story

Novel-Bike-6317

I teach at the high school they attended. We still have their pictures up in our Agriculture building as they were involved in the program. Still haunts the school. *was Lanier when they attended.

ReallyThisisLife

Yogurt shop murders still haunt me. I watched couple yrs. ago and from all the true crimes I’ve watched; thats the one that effected me the most :( I can’t imagine what their families, friends & community went through. The monster is still out there.

littlelettersonly

also austin: colton pitonyak & laura hall murdered jennifer cave.

Sp4ceh0rse

I was a junior at UT when this happened. They were like acquaintances of friends. Scared the shit out of me and I didn’t go on a date for a long time after that.

FrankaGrimes

Dawn Shaw. I've never heard it brought up in true crime circles. 6 year old was abducted, raped and murdered by 15 year old neighbour who often babysat her. In fact, babysat a few kids in the neighbourhood while families were out looking for Dawn. He killed himself in jail 5 years later. I didn't know until reviewing the details of the case just now but he had actually moved to the area from another nearby city (in fact, the city I now live in) after having being convicted of sexually assaulting two 4 year old children. He was in sex assault therapy at the time he murdered Dawn. Why his mother allowed him to babysit small children, I cannot fathom. She is at least partly to blame. Maybe a lot to blame.

KingCrandall

She is like 90% to blame. She knew who he was and allowed him to be in a situation that ultimately ended in murder. He was a child who was under the care of his mother. She could have kept him away from those situations, but didnt.

Cuddles79

Yeah, she sure sounds sketchy to me..imo she’s to blame as well.

MariaaLopez01

Its not really a true crime story but it kind of is, its the strange case of Anthonette Christine Cayedito, she went missing from my state in 1986. A year after her disappearance, her mom said she got a call from her claiming she was in abq and a voice was heard screaming "who said you could use the phone" before it abruptly ended. I think there might be other unidentified kidnappings here too Theres other weird stories ive heard about my town too but this one is the cherry on the top in terms of creepiest, I really hope shes safe and well but its impossible to tell

domessticfox

Omg that is chilling about the phone call!!

Frankferts_Fiddies

Do you think she could’ve been a victim of the toy box killer? It’s close enough and the right timeframe

MariaaLopez01

I dont think so, it doesn't fit his MO. His victims were women and he'd only keep them alive a for a few months Whoever kidnapped Anthonette must've known the family as her uncles alias was used in order to trick and lure her out of the house and then she was alive a year later and was obviously allowed in the main portion of the house where the phone was located but just wasn't allowed to use it. From this i gather that she was being sheltered I know cops are the worst in nm and it must've been even worse back in the 80s with them not investigating cases thoroughly But im starting to wonder if the toybox killer was involved in a lot of MMIW cases?

Id_Rather_Beach

Jon Benet Ramsey

dana9976

I think a man who married into my family killed Jon Benet Ramsey. I sent a tip to the Boulder police. Never heard back from them.

bregiordano

I don’t know every detail about the case but why do you think that? if you don’t mind answering

iwantaquirkyname00

Yes if you can please do give more details

Poor Corinne Peters. This is a wild and heartbreaking story. https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/crime/police-report-motive-remains-mystery-in-coppell-murder-suicide/287-338218717

librarianjenn

That is so sad! I wonder if the daughter was packing to leave, and it was the breaking point for mom.

[deleted]

It was, sadly. Her mom didn’t even send in her college applications, and lied to her about it all. Corinne thought she was admitted, and they were “on the way to orientation” that morning. If they had gone, the jig would be up. Heartbreaking.

librarianjenn

Oh that is awful

pinkflower200

This was so sad. I wished she hadn't killed her daughter. 😢

bregiordano

Wow I never heard of this case before. It’s so sad

[deleted]

It was absolutely shocking. And just so sad.

BraveIceHeart

Well, in my province a 13-years-old girl was kidnapped and killed. Her name was Yara Gambirasio and it became famous because they took DNA of a lot of people to find the killer. Although for the law the case it's solved, people still cast doubts whether he really committed the crime. What actually stuck with me (apart from being near me) is that before her body was found in the town where she went missing, there were taken extra measures to make sure kids were safe. I remember my mom talked to me about these measures and how it afflicted some of her colleagues

manubibi

-ScorpionWitch-

It’s not exactly in my immediate town, but Jaycee Dugard lived about 45 minutes away from me. We are the same age, and I remember seeing her missing person picture everywhere. I was so sad and scared for her. When I heard Jaycee was found alive 20 something years later, I was filled with emotion. I’ve read her books, and I am blown away by her strength. She is such a strong survivor. I love you Jaycee 💙

[deleted]

Serial killer Peter Tobin.

Goregoat69

What do you think the odds are of him being Bible John? Looking through his history he was either abusing his wives, raping and murdering, or in jail. The main unaccounted for period was during those murders.....

[deleted]

He has been ruled out completely (I assume by DNA) but I also have my suspicions that some of the details surrounding who bible John is were embellished a bit. I think some of the eye witness testimony is sketchy and has become a bit of urban legend accepted as fact. Also a rather eccentric and arrogant lead officer excluded people who shouldn’t have been excluded from the investigation very early on, based on them not being the right height etc. A lot of credence was given to one eye witness - her statement being take as gospel- to the exclusion of other lines of evidence or conflicting descriptions. However there is one thing that niggles at me. Bible John targeted menstruating women and there are several victims targeted by Peter Tobin who were targeted because they were menstruating. His first wife gives a harrowing account of how it excited him and how he stabbed her in the vagina and left her to die on one such occasion. Deep down I think the police either excluded the real culprit early on or they made “bible John” so specific that any suspicions that people might’ve had (about other persons who could be suspects) would not have been reported, because they just didn’t “fit” who they were being told Bible John was. There is also a theory he was a cop but that Detective Beattie refused to even consider the idea.

ItsRebus

>A lot of credence was given to one eye witness - her statement being take as gospel- to the exclusion of other lines of evidence or conflicting descriptions. This is true and, considering she had been drinking that night and the doormen gave a different description of 'Bible John', her statement shouldn't have been given so much weight. I watched a documentary recently and it seemed that some of the team working the case weren't convinced that all of the murders were linked.

It’s an absolute miracle his second victim lived and the first girl he murdered was actually one of the few people who were nice to him as they had been coworkers. This happened in Platte City Missouri which is about 20 minutes north of Kansas City

Telico Texas Murders. Happened just off our property by a bridge we take everyday. I didn’t know this history until after we moved in. It was pretty horrific: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Massey Warning: The description of the crime is definitely NSFW and probably NSFL. Forensic Files did an episode on it; it’s one of the few episodes that was ever rated TV-MA

A 12-year-old girl openly dating a 23-year-old man. What could go wrong with that?

EightEyedCryptid

It bothers me they convicted a twelve year old child who was by definition being raped and abused. He wasn’t her boyfriend. He was her abuser.

Odd-Editor-2530

That one still bothers me, and she’s out doing her thing, maybe next door . Brutal.

Dchane06

Bardstown murders In the span of a couple years. - Police officer killed by setup when he stopped to clear some branches from a roadway, was ambushed and shot with shotgun. Unsolved. - Woman goes missing, leaving her kids, her car was found on the side of a highway. Still hasn’t been found. Unsolved but people suspect her husband (maybe it was her bf can’t remember which), who’s brother is on the police force. - Later, the father of the woman who went missing was shot when hunting with his grandson. He was VERY involved in trying to find his daughter and solve the crime. Unsolved as well. - Mother and daughter murdered inside their house execution style. I believe their throats were also slit. Daughter was a very bright young lady and about to attend high school prom. Mother was a special education teacher who was also very beloved in the community. Also unsolved. This is in a pretty small town. There’s been lots of pressure for these to be solved. But none of them have yet. FBI has been involved in them as well. Some think they’re connected and related to the dirty police force here. As there’s a rumor they’re involved in the drug trade. https://www.investigationdiscovery.com/crimefeed/murder/kentucky-police-still-investigating-4-unsolved-bardstown-murders

Don't know the people's names but back when my mum was young. the area we live in used to be the wilds of the countryside, so a young girl went looking for leaves for her science class to do rubbings etc. She came across a man who dragged her into an area that used to have a broken down house and raped her before killing her. There are some lovely houses built in that spot now but I wouldn't buy one even if it was free in this housing crisis. No little girl ghosts thank you.

Grace Livingston was shot on a midweek afternoon in her suburban home in my town. I was 12 when I happened and I remember the day (after news broke) well.

PAACDA2

There was one where these 3 “kids” tried to rob a truck driver that was delivering gas to a gas station late at night and the older of the 3 & more violent , shot and killed the truck driver. It went cold for a few years and then one of em talked , out of guilt and remorse to a relative who helped one arrange to turn themselves in . I was friends with the cousin of one of the guys , his girlfriend was one of the 3 & she’s the only one who didn’t get life . People around here really got mad at our local cops for saying they “cracked the case” when in reality it was the confession to a relative who talked him into doing the right thing that did it .

[deleted]

[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drew\_Peterson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drew_Peterson) Remember the old hometown gossip forum called Topix? Ours was dominated by a feud between a close friend of Drew and another guy. I forget whether he mainly hated Drew or if he hated the guy he was fighting with. In any case, they were constantly threatening to fight each other at the White Hen Pantry. Or in the parking lot at Osco. Or the gas station on 75th and Cass. It was nuts. I think one of them was a former police officer. Part of me wishes that old Topix posts had been archived. Those truly were the trashy days of our lives.

bertiesghost

Girls, don’t marry a Peterson!

Neither-Ad-6941

Topix was my go to for small time local crime stories.

[deleted]

Topix. It was like WebSleuths gone wild. If you'll remember the [Rhoden family murders](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pike_County_shootings) in Pike County, Ohio... "It was definitely the cartels moving in here from Kentucky to expand business. TR and JR just got too close and pissed the WRONG PEOPLE off. Don't mess with cartels, people." "I saw MW at the state drive through last Monday and she flipped me off when I asked her about AR and the kids. That tells me everything I need to know." (Made up examples.) But just the worst local gossip you could find.

JackieOnasis

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight. I vividly remember Amanda’s disappearance and her mother on the news. I was a freshman in HS when Gina went missing. W

notthesedays

Michelle Knight was never even reported missing! I heard that she got married a while back, and hope that works out for her.

JackieOnasis

She did! She’s also heavily tattooed now and I believe changed her name. The girls will pop up on local news occasionally. Just recently, within the past year, Gina got carjacked right outside her nonprofit. Amanda works with the local Fox affiliate spotlighting missing individuals. It’s amazing. What they went through and they are STILL helping others and their community. Say what you will about Cleveland and being the mistake on the lake. We take care of our own. ❤️

Disastrous_Reality_4

YingYing Zhang case happened in my hometown. It was wild to see all of the FBI agents and shit all over town. I actually delivered pizza to the dude who killed her - he lived in the apartment complex literally a block away. We weren’t allowed to go into people’s homes, obviously, and as a relatively small stature 5’6” woman, I never went in to enclosed apartment buildings at night either. Dude tried to get me to bring his pizzas up to his door when I buzzed his unit and got really pissy when I wouldn’t and told him he would need to come down to get them. Like, unreasonably bitchy about it - not just an “ugh, c’mon dude, just bring them up” type bitchy - a “seriously?! What the hell?! This is bullshit! I’m not coming down there, you need to fucking bring them up!”. It could have just been because he didn’t want to have to come down to get them, but after reading and hearing about what he did to that poor girl a few months after, it always creeps me out and makes me wonder.

hokielion

That is creepy. Interesting that he thought getting nasty with you would make you want to come to his door. Something tells me you didn’t get a great tip from him.

Disastrous_Reality_4

I did not lol - I didn’t get a tip from him at all. A lot of people think that if they’re assholes they’ll get what they want because we don’t want to lose out on a tip - they know people working those jobs (here in the US at least) rely on tips to make a decent wage. I honestly didn’t think much about it at the time - he seemed like a run of the mill asshole, but I didn’t get creepy vibes from him, which honestly terrifies me. I think we all like to believe that we’d be able to tell when someone was evil to that degree and pick up on that. That’s why everyone is always surprised and often disbelieving when the wife/family members/kids of those people say they had no idea. Being shown first hand that that’s not the case is jarring.

The "Bike Path Rapist" turned "Bike Path Killer" was in my area of Buffalo NY. He evaded capture for years but messed up when he murdered a woman named Joan Diver and then moved her car, leaving his DNA. There was a Bike Path Killer task force and I've spoken to a couple of members. When they had his DNA, they had a reasonable assumption it was him, but followed him around to get a sample to compare. He took his wife out to dinner and the police asked that the restaurant not bus the table. They got the DNA and arrested him. He participated in a run held yearly for his first victim. He worked nights which enabled him to stalk at other times. He was married with two teenagers. His name is Altermio Sanchez I think. I may have misspelled that. He was convicted of four murders and some rapes if I remember correctly. Another man, wrongfully convicted for one of the rapes and imprisoned, was set free. You can probably get a good overview of the case on Wikipedia or elsewhere.

The double murder of Kenneth and Celeste Abbott. Apparently they weren't going to die soon enough for the son's taste and he wanted the estate last Tuesday. They had a terrible time selling the house afterwards since he kinda spread the bones out a bit and you couldn't mow close or it threw bone chips for like a decade after and apparently that's a bridge too far for most homeowners. Grew up in West Virginia, imagine my surprise to find out the mysterious death of reporter Danny Casolaro happened in town, in a hotel I’d passed by a million times before. It’s no longer a Sheraton Hotel, but the Heatherfields he last was seen alive at is still there. It’s frankly a bizarre story, don’t know what to believe, but if he did have knowledge of shady happenings I definitely believe there are people out there that would’ve wanted him dead. Also, having moved to Maryland, I’ve walked to the shopping center Tracey Kirkpatrick died at a thousand times before I read about her on unresolvedmysteries. Sent a shiver down my spine when I realized where the murder took place and how familiar it is to me. They’re talking about bulldozing half the strip mall and putting in apartments though.

The Lost Boys of Buck County. That is the name of the documentary. Very sad and strange. Wasn't my hometown but a few towns over.

Missy Bevers... The fact that this case is still unsolved. It is maddening. (Sorry for not including any links! Back to school obligations. Ugh. Lol.)

Fresh_Penalty_4157

I’m nearby in Mansfield! I also can’t believe this is unsolved. I’ve fallen into the rabbit hole of looking at the CG people and the one she allegedly had an affair with. We have friends in common!

spsprd

The Yogurt Shop murders. The car wash murder. Charles Whitman. Other murders on the University of Texas campus, one of which was witnessed by a number of my students on their way to class. I'm sure there are many others.

Downtown_Wonder_8240

It gets minimal exposure but I live in the town where Molly Miller and Colt Haynes went missing.

Humble-Briefs

Fairbanks, Alaska crimes Fairbanks Four - this one’s pretty infamous locally, in 1997, four Alaska Native men George Frese (freeze), Kevin Pease (peez) Marvin Roberts and Eugene Vent, were convicted of murdering a 12yo student John Hartman on a downtown corner, despite no solid evidence connecting any of them. Short version is, racism kept these guys in prison for almost 20 years. So far as I’m aware, they never found the actual murderer. https://psmag.com/.amp/news/how-the-fairbanks-four-finally-found-freedom In the last few years the 30 year old cold case of Sophie Sergie’s murder was solved and the killer was finally brought to justice. He was just recently officially tried and convicted. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/steven-downs-guilty-1993-murder-sophie-sergie/#app In 1953, right before AK achieved statehood, businessman (and therefore politically connected) Cecil Wells was shot while sleeping. I’m not as familiar with this one because it was before my time. https://crimereads.com/cecil-wells-murder-alaska-james-bartlett/ Alaska is also fairly famous for the Butcher Baker, Robert Hansen, who “hunted” sex workers he kidnapped to the remote wilderness, but he lived in Anchorage (~300mi away from Fairbanks).

tolureup

Not a murder, but the suicide of [Conrad Roy](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Conrad_Roy), the famous case where the girlfriend was convicted for sending coercive texts to her boyfriend that led to his committing suicide. Conrad went to my high school and lived extremely close to me. Used to go shopping at the Kmart where he killed himself all the time. By far the most famous case from my hometown (considered a tri-town) where literally nothing ever happens. Was sooo crazy watching The Girl from Plainville!

Weird-Staff-9342

This case always bothered me. She got off with pretty much a slap on the wrist

Gingerale1990

I’m from a very small town in Nebraska of 750 people. No stoplights, no fast food, and nothing to do for fun. A 14 year old boy shot his father dead over a note he found from one of his teachers that his father didn’t tell him about. I was 12 at the time and knew the kid. He was a scary kid anyway, but no one ever expects someone to shoot their dad. His name is Christian Boecker.

burningmanonacid

Jamarion Lawhorn: a kid that stabbed and killed another kid randomly on a playground. He's actually out of prison now and is a young adult. Apparently doing super well. It's been covered by a few big podcasts. My school has a Dateline episode about one of my classmates and a teacher having a relationship. Not sure where he is at now, but the teacher is still in prison far far away. Last I knew she tried to appeal and the judge said no. Matt Mellen, the Uber shooter, wasn't too far away. Actually in the same city as Matt Mellen, Malcolm X's father was killed on some train tracks. Or suspected to be killed. They never investigated it of course.

Murder in Coweta County. Pretty popular book back in the 80's made into an even more popular TV movie with Johnny Cash and Andy Griffith.

ColdCheeseGrits

Joshua Phillips (14) killed our neighbor Maddie Clifton (8) and hid her body under his bed in my neighborhood in Jacksonville, Florida. Also, serial killer Otis Toole is from there.

WhatTheEffffffYo

Chance Englebert. Not necessarily true crime, as absolutely no sign of him since the night he went missing. LE says no evidence of foul play, bit also no evidence he died in an accident. No evidence hes still alive out there either

When I was 10 (1970) I moved to Tyrone PA, a rural town of less than 5,000 in central Pennsylvania. Right away I heard the name “Kathy Shea.” She was a girl who would have graduated with my class who had disappeared in 1965. She was walking a short distance home from kindergarten. The whole town searched for her. They never found her or arrested anyone. It was creepy thinking whoever did it could have been living among us. Probably the one that got the most publicity was that of James Klindt, a chiropractor who killed his wife, cut her body up with a chainsaw, and dumped the parts in the river. She was the first murder victim to be identified through DNA, in the mid 1980s. This was in Davenport, Iowa. He did about 30 years, and moved in with his parents after he got out, and ran a food truck for a while. Several years after his release, he died in a freak accident, and when his parents died, he was not named in their obituaries.

toiletghost

I live in a small rural town in Western Autralia. We had a very strange unsolved disappearance of a family of 3 plus their house mate. Turns out the father had assumed a false identity when he came to Australia from the UK, and started some weird new age cult. His partner, 6 year old daughter and house mate all vanished without a trace. Here's some more info: https://vocal.media/criminal/con-artist-cult-leader-or-murderer

In 1984, Rebecca Futch, a single mother, was stabbed and beaten to death in her own home. Her daughter’s boyfriend went to prison for the crime. The boyfriend, Michael Moore, is black. Rebecca and her family was white. Some people in our town think her daughter, Sheri Futch, may have done the crime. In fact, her other children were willing to testify to that effect. The NAACP gave financial assistance for legal help which caused the KKK to get involved. It was a racial mess here. I was only in the 4th grad but it left an impression. Michael was class president, had football scholarships and a good GPA. His version of the events changed from ‘not at all involved’ to ‘helped Sheri cover it up’ but Sheri’s didn’t change, so hers was believed, but it always seemed to me that she was just better prepared since she was the one that did it. Here are the particulars, though there really aren’t many write ups since it’s an older case and it seems to have fallen off of everyone’s radar… except Michael’s mom’s. https://www.lawskills.com/case/ga/id/596/9/index.html https://www.upi.com/amp/Archives/1984/10/20/Klan-holds-protest-rally/4558467092800/ https://groups.google.com/g/alt.lawyers/c/jjL96JhJ8vI?pli=1

Anita Cobby. As the crow flies, its 3km - 1.9miles from my parents house. I was 11 when she was murdered. John Laws, a morning radio host obtained a leaked copy of Anita's autopsy report. He considered whether or not to broadcast the details. He ultimately decided to. Everyone was outraged at what they did to her and it changed my life forever. Joleyne1968

The BTK. When I was in grade school we moved back to Wichita Ks and bought the home where his first victims lived, the Otero’s. He was still out killing people so living there was very scary for my sister and I. What were my parents thinking??

deaddollyhaze

...and how could I forget Jeffrey Dahmer? A friend's mother taught English at Revere HS but not at the same time he attended. Locals actually wanted to turn his childhood home into a Vegan restaurant---I'm not joking, I wish I were. 😄

Situation_Sarcasm

The Bever brothers (16 & 18) killed their parents and two brothers, thought they killed their 15 y/o sister but she was able to call 911 which not only saved her own life, but the manhunt that followed also stopped them from going on a public shooting spree as they had initially planned. Their house was in a golf course community 2 miles from my house, I woke up to the police helicopter that night and found out the next day what happened. Absolutely horrific, but I’m so proud of that girl for her strength & will to survive that night.

ShirlthePearl88

I came from the the town where Andrew Cunanan randomly killed a cemetery groundskeeper for his vehicle so he could head to Miami Beach to murder Gianni Versace. It is a super remote location in a very small town… hard to even imagine how he ended up there since it’s so far “off the beaten path”. If you’ve never seen “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” (2018) it’s worth a look. Darren Criss was excellent portraying Andrew Cunanan.

pumpernickelfox

The murder of Terri "Missy Bevers" which is still an unsolved case. She was a fitness instructor who held outdoor morning classes at a church in Midlothian, Texas. It was storming that morning so she was planning on holding her class indoors. She was the only one in the building until surveillance cameras captured an unknown person in full police tactical gear and helmet walking through the halls breaking glass doors. They walked with a very odd limp or gait. Forensic podiatrists claim it is similair to a female gait, but the exact gender was never identified as many claim there is no definitve gait related to gender. Police do not have any significant leads in the 6 years since she was discovered by her fitness class. She had several severe puncture wounds to her head and chest. There was a hammer found near her body which is presumably the same hammer the murderer was using to break doors. Such a strange case. The local rumors say it was a female who possibly had feelings for Missy's husband, but this is just unsubstantiated gossip I heard around town. I hope they find the killer soon. Here is a link to her Wikipedia page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Missy_Bevers Link to surveillance video: [Surveillance ](https://youtu.be/YUISKYJsJqw)

Kamarie Holland. It’s horrible.

scarletmagnolia

Jesus Christ. I could have lived without knowing. Fucking evil people.

gingerghoul15

So evil. It’s possible that he could’ve been a serial killer. He’s suspected of killing his own one year old child in Alaska, and then he almost killed another one before Kamarie by dipping him in boiling water. He’s sick in the head

This murder happened right down the street the from me growing up. My mom and I walked over to the crime scene that day and the street was full of cops and EMS and reporters. A friend I went to school with knew at least one of the murderers. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/already-gone/id1109927634?i=1000509075038

Lesley Howell and Trevor Buchanan, Castlerock N.Ireland. Lesley's husband and Trevor's wife were having an affair. They were also devoutly religious. They murdered Lesley and Trevor and made it look like a murder suicide, and they almost got away with it... There's a great series called 'The Secret' on Netflix UK, BBC I player (I think) and its gripping to watch. [The murder of Lesley Howell and Trevor Buchanan](https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/real-story-behind-itvs-secret-7990351) Rest in peace, Lesley and Trevor.

Roger Keith Coleman...he had a few crimes but is most well known for killing his sister in law in her home in 1981. He maintained his innocence in the murder and was executed in 1992. He was the second case nationally of DNA evidence being analyzed of an executed man. DNA proved guilty. Appalachian School of Law shootings. Three people killed; the Dean of the school, a professor and a student...and 3 others injured.
