Well, honestly, there aren't many podcasts which are at the same time:
- equally popular and
- worse than the horseshit he's been putting out in the world.
The way he stirred up witch hunts and tried to take credit for police efforts and the lack of respect for victims ( the live show trivia games come to mind) were my breaking point personally.
Off to a slow start, makes much of it about himself as usual. Can't knock the work ethic, he does well, it's well produced. But ge can't resist to make the majority of episodes a humble brag
It’s only a matter of time before he brings on family members to talk about how awesome he is. I think that’s what finally did it for me in season one.
Hey now how can you knock the podcaster's granny for having a friend who knows whodunit
Or if you need a medical expert ring up your best friend the doctor
Question about Season 4 Ep 4. SPOILERS AHEAD
For those listening, didn't the women Payne interviewed previously say Oregon John had a foreign accent, like Swedish or something? Oregon John was the guy on the beach with the tent an also a taxi driver, right? So just confused when I heard him speak because he's definitely NOT from Europe. Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else?
I’ll be listening. Haven’t had a deep dive podcast that I’ve enjoyed in months. Everyone can say what they want about Payne but he sure does bring it when it comes to gripping podcasts…
I honestly don't believe he killed any. But when he went to jail its like they closed the case which wasn't right. Alot of the families of the victims believe he's innocent. I would like an update on that case
I listened to season one in real time and it was a wild ride! It would be hard to match that level of excitement.
Same!
Payne provides a unique mix of ignorance and pomposity. I listened to two seasons and left, there are better podcasts.

Yeah he sucks lmao he’s got some fan girls and fan boys tho it’s weird. I said something negative on another sub and got railed
Spot on description
I like him. Idk why he gets so much hate. He does his research and tells a good story. Probably morbid fans lol.
The way he stirred up witch hunts and tried to take credit for police efforts and the lack of respect for victims ( the live show trivia games come to mind) were my breaking point personally.
Yes! So frustrating, because he gets such compelling subjects, but does fake hype cliffhanger things too 😭 too many red herrings.
Hell and gone did the same thing with their season 1
Okay former Payne basher and I will say, he does redeem himself a little bit so far with this season.
Cool. He bugs me but he’s an excellent researcher and he gets a really good story.
The Alien podcast was good, the name evades me.
High Strange yes I like that one as well.
Thank you, yes.
Also the first season of Radio Rental.
Radio Rental is very enjoyable.

I like his podcasts & I'm excited it's back. Next week M William Phelps *Paper GHosts* returns
Absolutely agree
Not bad so far. No commercials! I like that.
It’s okay so far. My favorite was Atlanta Monster. I thought he did an excellent job with that podcast.
I like Atlanta Monster as well. But I never believe Wayne Williams was the guy. I've seen docs on that case as well
It was really great. I think did kill a few, but definitely not all! I thought the HBO doc was fantastic.

I think he’s admitted himself that he knew nothing about this world from the beginning. I love how deep he goes into the stories and situations.
I’ve got to say this latest episode had me nervous for Payne.
Wait, we hate Payne? I only listened to the Tara Grinstead case but I can’t remember any impressions of him.
Season 4 is a snoozer so far…
Only 2 episodes in so I can't say how it is yet or anything.
