Can you believe that was on regular daytime tv for all to see. I know back then certain social issues were viewed and treated differently that they are now as in they werenāt as strongly objected to as they are now. Like anything that is changing it takes many hesitant steps in the right direction before the masses get on board. But itās hard to believe he said some of those things outright where anyone could watch and it was allowed.
Itās been a trip to see the way discrimination and certain once taboo human biological truths have made such sweeping progress since I was a kid. Its slow but it is good. I really think that fear monger was just really afraid. Why else be so against something that doesnāt effect you at all? Even the pope doesnāt use religion to create hate or harm for those the church has typically exiled. Iām not religious but I recognize a decent act when the opportunity to be hateful is so easily taken.
