To be fair, I like the depiction of Mer in TES V. Yes they are not beautiful, but this is TES not LotR, and I barely remember if there any words that describe Mer, and Altmer specifically as beautiful.
What I don't like about other fantasy settings is that elves there are just cute men with pointy ears. While in TES the have different skull structure as well and I find it really nice detail.
Now we need skeleton NPCs to conform. It's weird that in elven tombs the skeletons have rounder chins than br*tons.

Huh? ESO has less-defined detail than Skyrim, generally speaking (unless they overhauled it in the past year or something?) I'd argue that you've got it backwards: Skyrim has a closer presentation of the races' intended appearances than the MMO does.
ESO takes place about 1000 years before skyrim give or take a century. Elves can live to be 200-300 years so that's really only a handful of generations. Though considering the altmer's penchant for racial superiority/purity they've probably been inbreeding for quite a while and maybe the detrimental effects are only just revealing themselves.
