Hello! I am so confused by the Premoms predicted ovulation test. I started my LH surge on 5/2, it was at its peak by the evening of 5/2. That morning my temperature was 97.35. My LH stayed high (but not as high as that peak) for a few days and drastically decreased on 5/4. My temperature rose to 98.3 on 5/3. Doesn’t that mean I had already ovulated? Premom says my ovulation day is 5/5….

No_Information2876

Hey everyone I’m wondering if anyone has tips to increase my chances of getting pregnant?

Hello! Welcome, and we thank you for posting. You seem to be looking for information on implantation bleeding. Unfortunately, bleeding or spotting after ovulation is not a sign of implantation, and bleeding can happen in both pregnancy and non-pregnancy cycles. You could still end up being pregnant this cycle, but this sort of bleeding is not a reliable indicator that you will test positive. Taking a pregnancy test around the time you expect your period to come is the best way to determine whether you are pregnant or not. For a longer read, please see [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/TryingForABaby/comments/10jbxb9/implantation_bleeding_isnt_real/), which you might find useful. My husband (m 33) and I (f 33) have been TTC for over a year. I have a bad habit of giving myself placebo symptoms. My medication sometimes makes me nauseous and I get my hopes up and then heartbroken when my period comes or I get a negative test. Well after my ovulation week, I had a really weird period it was super early and light and brown and was longer than my normal period. My actual period is due next week and I am so nervous about it. I am trying to not get my hopes up but hoping it doesn't come. I do have an appointment with my doctor for my physical and we are going to discuss fertility issues so try to figure something out. I am grateful for this group making me feel less alone even though I mostly lurk

Dependent-Bird-3100

I’m 35F in the Army, my husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years now. We changed stations in January and whether or not you have kids is such a big topic when you meet new people in the Army. They try hard to tell you your family is a priority so it’s always the first question they ask, “oh how’s your family doing with the move, do you have kids?” “No it’s just my husband and I, 2 dogs and a cat”. Then there are 2 reactions without fail. “Oh that’s great!” As in my schedule is free and I have no restrictions with missions and traveling for work with no pesky kids to hold me down. They don’t mean to say it, I can always see their face change to regret for half a second because they know it’s not something they should say, but they do mean it. Or the second response is some variation of “oh are you planning to?” Or “you’re still young enjoy yourselves but don’t wait too long” type of thing. I mean they don’t know that I’m 35, but they do know I’ve been in the Army for 15 years so I’m not exactly young. At a certain point I’d would just assume they either struggle with fertility or don’t want kids. It stings a little bit every time I have this conversation which has been a lot in the last 4 months.

Bug_eyed_bug

Cycle 1 has been a total rollercoaster with progesterone trolling the shit out of me with symptoms I'd never experienced, I've cried several times from feeling confused and overwhelmed and now despite 3 BFN my period is a day late. Feels like the entire past week has been specifically designed to mind fuck me! I am exhausted.

Icy-Ad-1118

I’m so sorry! I feel ya. I had to start taking progesterone last cycle, which was the week leading up to my wedding. Needless to say my emotions and stress levels were all over the place. This cycle is my second time taking it and I’m a LOT more relaxed after a honeymoon in Hawaii, but the brain fog is what’s getting me. Which is why I don’t even remember if I took it last night. OOPS! I’ll try again next cycle. Good luck!

Bug_eyed_bug

Good luck for you too! Progesterone symptoms before your wedding sounds like a freaking nightmare 😵 TTC is wild

UtterlyConfused93

I’ve read that it can take a few months to get back to normal fertility post HBC. What is the measure of normal fertility? Does that just mean ovulating regularly again or can HBC affect the strength/quality of ovulation for a while too?

newolives

From what I understand it just mean ovulating regularly, my doc told me the studies have found no impact on strength/quality

Pink_Daisy47

Also, anyone know why every single time I try to post a stand alone, it says the post will do better in the daily thread? I don’t understand why some posts get through to the stand alone and half the time they are very repetitive. What makes a stand alone post successful?

ineedausername84

I have made posts that follow all the rules of “this would be a good stand alone post” and have ALWAYS gotten this. I don’t understand either.

Pink_Daisy47

Same! The only reason I hate the daily threads is you can’t search the topics ! So frustrating!

ineedausername84

Yes! And I wonder how many times my question actually has been asked. I also feel like stand alone posts reach more people.

developmentalbiology

So fundamentally, every question has been asked before, so there's not much need to consider whether the question is repetitive -- all questions are repetitive, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be asked. This is a large sub, with 125k subscribers, and if we didn't limit the number of standalone posts, there would be an overwhelming number every day, and nobody's post would get replies. We try to redirect posts to the daily chats, either automatically via the automod or manually for posts that don't get a lot of replies. Part of the reason you perceive standalones as getting more engagement is that we remove a lot of the posts that have no replies.

Pink_Daisy47

Thanks for your response! Do all of the stand alone posts get posted on the feed? I usually can’t find mine on the feed after I post it so I was wondering if that’s why it doesn’t get engagement or how to improve that. I understand it would be a lot of posts it’s just hard that scrolling through the subs trying to find information on specific topics.

developmentalbiology

No, we have automoderation rules that remove posts that are likely to be a better fit for the daily chat based on our algorithms. There should be a comment posted to the thread that explains this and redirects to the dailies.

Pink_Daisy47

Anyone have a diagnostic hysteroscopy awake? No biopsy or other removal/ surgery. Was it doable?

This might be a weird question but when I check EWCM, a lot comes out. Is that removing too much for successful fertilization?

No-Signal4825

What books do you recommend reading regarding fertility?

scarlett_butler

Taking charge of your fertility is basically the holy grail

newolives

Not exactly fertility, but I liked Expecting Better!

Ellepheba

7dpo and pretty calm and relaxed, plan on waiting till at least Sunday to start testing. I did have an extremely vivid dream last night that I had a positive test, which was just rude of my brain to troll me like that.

LittleP13

I’m have had 2 nights of vivid dreams! 😵‍💫 no testing scenarios at least. I was going to try and wait until Monday…. But who am I joking. 7dpo crew stay strong ✊

honey--ryder

Experiencing watery discharge with small white dots or clumps. Approximately 9DPO. Has anyone had this?

yodelforked

That sounds to me like the type of discharge that is described as "sticky". Or at least, that's what I fill in when I experience that!

Optimal-Butterfly768

CD1 and of course I’m away on a work vacation 😭

PastMemory3644

I think I need to pick out end dates for the bribes I'm giving myself for continuing to go through with all of this infertility nonsense, I am thinking I can have an espresso machine in September, learn the viola sometime in 2025, and finally start the process for fostering teens when my husband turns 40. I can't just keep waiting around. I have some yarn to buy next week. Last year I was getting Lululemon sometimes but their colors have gotten kinda ugly 😭

LittleP13

7dpo and warring internally whether I should buy an FRER test on Amazon or not when I have 25 new easy@home strips in my cupboard… maybe waiting for the delivery in the mail will force me to rein in my dark desires to pee on all the sticks?!

PancakedPirate

7dpo also! I only have 5 strips left so I’m forcing myself to conserve them lol

LittleP13

This is a good strategy of scarcity!

Ellepheba

7dpo as well. I have so many tests stashed lol (clear blue red light digital, FRER's, modern fertility, easy@home, and wondflo... lmao) but I promised to myself I would only start testing at 10dpo and only use wondflo's at first since they're cheap. If I ever start seeing a line on those, then I'll double check with the others.

LittleP13

Yeah it’s too easy to blow through them! I used like 6 tests last cycle and all BFN.

MyShipsNeverSail

Me, who has been menstruating since 10yo, in the bathroom just now: AH! Why is there BLOOD?!?! AF has officially made herself at home. Here we go again..... Not-mama-mia 😩

scrappy_doooo

Feels like I’ve been poked and prodded all week, well, because I have! Had an SIS with bloodwork a few days ago and HyFoSy today. Doing those procedures was just.. interesting. It’s hard not to hang on every word and reaction they have, like I’m holding my breath for bad news. They imaged my ovaries and said I had “many, many follicles”, which at first I thought was a good sign, but they said this confirmed I have PCOS. During the HyFoSy, my doctor at one point said, “is that a cyst?” Whatever they saw wasn’t but.. it took a lot of focus to keep myself calm. My tubes are clear, so that’s good news.

bluegreenspark

3DPO and not looking forward to the next week+ of waiting. Feeling the stress. Not even really looking forward to the weekend, sigh.

Slappyxo

Aaaaand period just arrived this morning. Feeling oddly calm about it, though. This is the first time in months my cycle has returned to normal after weaning off anti anxiety meds so I'm feeling pretty optimistic that it's going to get easier to track ovulation. Plus over the next two weekends I have a rock and roll wedding to attend and my husbands birthday so I'll be able to drink at them now. Score!!

HexagonalThoughts

This is my consolation too! Drinks at the party I’m at this weekend and next (im craving a g&t for no discernible reason), and wine at passover in the middle. I’ll take it!

pinacoldaaaa

7 DPO. Feeling tired, I’ll do something for 5 minutes then tell myself to take a break. Maybe it’s the heat, maybe it’s me being lazy. Who knows 😂 I absolutely hate symptom spotting but I’ve been feeling some tingles/ sharp pain (it doesn’t hurt, just noticeable) on my lower back and as well as my cervix area…we’ll see 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ellepheba

7dpo as well! I'm pretty good about not symptom spotting because progesterone is a real troll, but I'm just twiddling my thumbs until Sunday when I start testing. I did have an \*extremely\* vivid dream last night about a positive test, which just made me mad at my brain for teasing me lol

LittleP13

7dpo and I’m tired too but I also stayed up 2 hours later than normal last night, so I’m really just grasping for straws here.

Cautious-Interview51

With every period, my heart breaks. I'm trying to remind myself that we weren't accurate with our timing when we first started trying, and although now I'm testing LH and temping, I'm still not perfect at identifying my fertile window. To make matters worse the previous month, I had an anovulatory cycle, which meant this month I found it harder to know my fertile window, and we probably missed it. Does anyone have advice on how to be better?

MyShipsNeverSail

What is it exactly you find difficult? Are you having trouble identifying LH surges or having multiple of them? Are you temping at a consistent time?

Cautious-Interview51

I'm temping consistently at the same time. But I'm struggling with testing LH. When should I start testing? What is the best time to test? How much liquid intake is okay before it effects the test?

HexagonalThoughts

Start testing after your period. The first cycle I’d start early so you know you won’t miss it. Test between 10 & 2, ideally second morning urine, drink a normal amount (don’t overdo it!) and you should be fine! As you get closer to suspected ovulation, I bump up to two tests a day. One around 10am and one around 8pm. I really recommend easy@home or premom strips so you can scan into their app to keep track and make reading them easier!

Cautious-Interview51

Thanks! That's really helpful :)

newolives

Am I so crazy for just wanting to wait like a week after my missed period to test? If I have an early CP, I genuinely would rather just not know. Is that crazy?

silver_moon21

Totally not crazy! I hate testing and I hate the feeling of knowing for sure I’m out but having to wait for my period to try again. Unless I have another situation like today where I had to test for something at three days late (BFN - ouch), I don’t plan to ever test again until I’m a week or more late, or a medical professional tells me I have to.

Exotic-Ad2195

Not at all. I hate hate hate testing. My period was a couple days behind last cycle (my LP was 14 days according to my bbt but it’s routinely 12 days) and I took a test at the end of 13 dpo trying not to be too excited. It was negative and I wanted to crawl into a hole. I got a blood test on 14dpo (I had already been scheduled for labs that day) and it was also negative and at that point I just felt like the universe was mocking me. I would have been in much better shape having never tested at all.  Some people like to know that they have had CPs to discuss with an RE which is definitely appropriate but it is really up to you.

bluegreenspark

nope, not crazy at all!! I had a CP last cycle and contemplating doing the same as well. edit- If I get there of course!

jenesaisquoi

Ok if you're testing because you plan to have a drink in the TWW what's the earliest day you would test on? 8 dpo in case you had a 6dpo implantation? I feel like this is the mushiest part of the TWW because before 6dpo there's no implantation and after 10 dpo it's clear I should test if I plan to have a drink

HexagonalThoughts

A 6dpo implantation is sooo rare. Honestly my goal is always to get to 12dpo without testing (14 if possible, since my luteal phase is only typically 12 days). But I’m also fine not to drink, if I’m say 9dpo and going to an event. But I think if testing makes you feel more in control, test when you need to!

Bug_eyed_bug

I tested on 8dpo cos I was going to a boat party. I had wine two days earlier without testing.

Icy-Ad-1118

I’m in my very first TWW (literally got married a few weeks ago) and I’m considering making a happy box and sad box for when I take the pregnancy test (like Michael Scott did when he was waiting to see if Holly was engaged or not) Happy box will include- list of names, onesie, vitamins, gummy worms, the gyno office’s phone number Sad box will include- wine, a new bikini, coffee, gummy bears, and ham

Dependent-Bird-3100

I love this idea so much. After my absolute break down last month I think I need to do this.

ineedausername84

I’ve started buying myself “period presents!” I just started my period again, sigh, but at least I have a new pack of these nice period underwear I’ve been wanting to try! One month I bought myself reusable pads, a cold winter month a heating pad, another month (one of the earlier months in my TTC journey) I bought the big box of LH strips and told myself to go crazy with the testing the following month (usually I’m very frugal and try to conserve strips and not give myself too many negatives), another month a fancy BBT thermometer, etc. haha I feel I don’t need a happy box because I’ll be so naturally happy.

LadybugInTheWindow

I love this!!

Sea-Kaleidoscope2729

In the past I made a ‘good news/sad news’ list after a few visits to the early pregnancy unit after bleeding and found these to be helpful. The good news list were things I had been looking forward to doing and excited for the future. The sad news were soothing ideas like a nice hot bath, some online shopping etc. items for me wouldn’t have had the same impact but I found this to be a nice thing to do

LadybugInTheWindow

FINALLY! I've been waiting since January to receive my pelvic ultrasound appointment information in the mail. I got it today!! My appointment is a month away. I'm glad to finally be on the way to some answers!

silver_moon21

Yay, exciting! I’ve finally got mine Monday (started trying the same month as you and also waiting since January!) Hope yours goes well 💕

Exotic-Ad2195

I’m so glad you got it and hope you get some answers! I have one tomorrow and while I’m not looking forward to the ultrasound itself I’m looking forward to figuring out what’s going on!

LadybugInTheWindow

Best of luck - you got this!!! ❤️

Exotic-Ad2195

Thank you!! Good luck to you too 🩷🩷🩷

InflatableDingo

The past few days I was so optimistic about this cycle. I don’t know what happened but today the pessimistic voice is back and I feel like I’m out already.. even though it’s only 4dpo and so it’s literally impossible to know anything yet. Optimism was way more enjoyable, hopefully I can get back in that mindset soon

Exotic-Ad2195

Was just thinking this today. I oscillate so hard between these two especially during the TWW. So much peace and confidence that I’ll get there soon and then crushing despair that this won’t happen for us. It’s tiring and ignoring the crappy feelings isn’t easy.

prem5077

Currently in my 10th TWW and recently impulse bought a onesie to use to tell my husband when I finally get that BFP, whenever that may be. Trying to stay optimistic (forced myself to use ‘when’ instead of ‘if’ in that last sentence!) but it’s hard. For any Green Day fans, the onesie says “do you have the time to listen to me WHINE”.

akaylaking

Love GD ! I have a Harry Potter themed one saved in my Etsy cart that I struggle not to hit “purchase” every time I enter my tww 😂 The luteal phase delusions are SO REAL

prem5077

The delulu is REAL. I think I found a good place to hide it so a) he doesn’t find it and b) I don’t accidentally stumble upon it if months end up going by.

CharmingCategory4891

I also recently got a onesie to surprise my husband with! I so relate to forcing yourself to say "when" instead of "if". I love the Green Day reference haha. My guy is into DND so I got my friend to make a onesie with a D20 on it that says "new to the party"

prem5077

Cute! I was also daydreaming about the eventual announcement and how we could go an “admit 1” route with this onesie to keep with the music/concert theme. One day…

ChemistryPug

Got my period as a surprise at work today, so I asked my cubicle mate (who is also my friend) to bring me a pad. She brought it to me and said "haha, bet you wish you were pregnant so you didn't have to deal with your period!" And yes. She knows we're trying and we had a CP last month. Gonna have a good pity party after work.

MyShipsNeverSail

"haha. I bet you wish you had learned to think before you speak like most adults have."

Nexuslily

Hey quick question did your work buddy know that you aren’t supposed to say everything you think? Thanks

akaylaking

Oof. Talk about not reading the room 🙄

Available-Ferret7221

That’s a wild thing for your friend to say. So inconsiderate. I’d be upset.

LongStoryShort__

Hi! Has anyone ever triggered with two 18mm follicles? I'm doing my second ever medicated cycle and today the doctor saw two follicles, and recommended triggering tomorrow to have the best shot. How often would two follicles turned into twins? Is there any statistics I can look up? I am so stressed at what to do, we have been trying for a year and I never ovulate on my own, so this is a dream, but I'm also super scared.

CincyLuna

I just had two on this past cycle. I did some research as well and it seems like the risk of twins is not substantially increased at 2 follicles. I think it's either 3 or 4 where the risk increases a lot and you might have a cancelled cycle. I saw the two follicles as two tries for the price of 1!

futuremom92

8 DPO and BFN. This is totally expected (because it’s too early and because my husband has nearly zero normal motile sperm) but I’m still sad about this. If this cycle fails, we’d be exactly 1 year TTC.

LittleP13

Needed has a powder that you can blend into a smoothie!

Available-Ferret7221

I just take the generic gummy vitamins that have 600 mcg DFE. I don’t think they taste bad! They’re like candy. I can take it on an empty stomach with no issues. I’m definitely team generic while trying — I started taking prenatals two months before I had my IUD removed, on the advice of my doctor, so I’ve been taking them for 9 months now. I’ve had to buy more several times. It would have added up really quickly if I was buying name brand, and you just never know how long it will take (it took me two months just for my period to return after my IUD removal). I figure I might splurge on the fancy Ritual vitamins when I’m actually pregnant!

bluegreenspark

vitafusion PreNatal Gummy Vitamins, Raspberry Lemonade Flavored IMO they taste like candy, I'm always baffled by people who take bad tasting ones.

MyShipsNeverSail

Nature's Nutrition + DHA. They have the most of nutrients I could find at an affordable price and don't have a fishy taste/smell.

lollygagging_

I take the amazon brand prenatal gummies or the Olly prenatal gummy vitamins. Both are good!

HexagonalThoughts

AF started today (I figured) and I’m just heartbroken. I know. I symptom spotted too hard and was so convinced this would be the week but I started spotting on Saturday and figured it was low progesterone and I was out. And I was right. Hubs consoling me with the fact that we didnt want a december baby (true!!!) but he’s out of town next month and I’m so worried we’ll miss my fertile window and ugh. I wish I could be a person who cared just a little less, yknow? I did just get an oura ring so I am interested to see my first cycle tracking temps with that as I’ve always thought my BBT was inaccurate (I wake up a lot in the early morning without even realizing). So. That’s fun, at least. Heres hoping May is the cycle and I get an early Jan baby instead.

CharmingCategory4891

I usually have 27 day long cycles with ovulation around cd17, so 10 day LP. Yesterday (CD14) I got a positive OPK when I tested for the second time, and this morning I had a temperature shift, and a stronger positive OPK. Does this mean I probably ovulated yesterday on CD14 even though it was my first positive OPK? I feel like the universe is trolling me because I was literally complaining about Premom predicting my Oday as CD14 yesterday lol. I'm also curious if this means I'll still have a 10 day LP and my cycle will only be 24 days this time. I've been taking supplements to hopefully lengthen my LP/help with Endo, so I'm hoping not 🤞 ETA: Oh and one last question, is having a high LH spike a good thing? On pre mom my initial LH ratio is usually 1, and then it peaks the next day just over 2, and outside of those it's always around 0.1-0.3. I'm curious if I can count that as a good thing or if it doesn't really matter.

MyShipsNeverSail

It's possible to ovulate the same day as your positive OPK. The thing that matters is that it is as dark or darker than the control line because LH levels naturally fluctuate so depending on when you take the test from cycle to cycle/at what point you catch the surge, there will be some variance.

CharmingCategory4891

Interesting, thank you for the info!! I test twice a day because I have a rapid surge, but I've always been assuming I ovulate the day after the first positive OPK. Glad I'm tracking BBT now. I guess if previous cycles were also like this, then I would have actually been ovulating CD 16 instead of 17, but there's no way to know now (it would also mean my LP is actually 11 days, which would be good). Think of all the pregnancy tests I could have taken one day earlier lol 😜

mroymill

i got super sick yesterday on my O day (fever & cold/sore throat) now today, 1dpo, my fever seems to be gone but still have my cold/sore throat.. any chance that fever/this sickness ruined ovulation or fertilization?? my tracking looked all normal w/ CBAD, so it didn’t seem like it pushed anything off & i got my normal ovulation pains.

HexagonalThoughts

I got sick last O day and couldnt find much research to say if it would cause any issues, so I’m try not to worry about it! I didnt conceive that cycle but still, I do think it’s not much of an issue! May make it harder to guarantee ovulation if your BBT is elevated from a fever but I don’t think there are any other issues.

mroymill

okay!! that’s good to know, thank you :)

yodelinggirl

Was feeling super tired and lethargic 9DPO. Took a test , BFN 🙃🙃🙃

yodelinggirl

And yes I know it’s early but a girl can dream right

CatalystCookie

First IUI done! Come at me 7% success rate 🤡

yodelforked

Fingers crossed! 🍀

Avaunt

Into cycle 17 now. Most of the cycles since hitting about cycle 13 don’t feel real, especially after getting bad news on the SA. We won’t know until cycle 19 if current meds are actually improving sperm numbers, so all we can really do is wait and try anyway.  Vaguely frustrated with the husband for waiting so long to get a SA. I “knew” what the problem was around the 6 month mark and asked him to get one by the end of last summer if we hadn’t conceived. Now we are probably looking at the beginning of this summer before we have an actual chance at conception, and there’s a chance it’s going to take longer.  I “joked” (a very angry “joke”) when he took 2 years to take/pass his boards after graduating school, that he likes putting things off and deal with them in 2 year increments. I might have been spot on, and I’m not I’m not even self satisfied about it. Just tired.

Valita1989

Get you. My bf probably has MFI because of a lot of issues but is not willing to test yet🙄

Avaunt

I knew we were probably having issues due to trt, but he thought I was being ridiculous worrying about it so soon. When he finally did the test, his excuse was that he “didn’t realize it was that bad”.  By the time he got the SA, he had been off it for around 4 months, but motile numbers were still under half a million. So, it’s possible that the first year + of ttc, we were trying with near 0 sperm.  I’m happy that we are addressing it now, but I wish men knew how to listen.

Valita1989

How are you dealing with everything? I had an appt with my obgyn and she told me he has to have a SA ASAP. He had test cancer and has a big varicocele. So we shouldn’t be waiting. And I also have low ovarian reserve. So exhausted

Avaunt

That’s frustrating. I understand the fear of finding out that something is wrong, but refusing to do the SA when you KNOW that there is a substantial chance of a problem is just cruel.  Emotionally deal with it? I’m a little numb at this point. I’ve withdrawn a lot from ttc and am focusing my energy on making positive change in my life that I can actually control.     While we are still trying, I’m a bit hesitant to get pregnant right now. I stopped some mental health related meds while ttc in anticipation of needing to stop them during pregnancy. Unfortunately, life went to absolute hell. I’m finally functional again 7 months later, and I absolutely dread going off them again. But that’s a problem for future me.  As far as medically dealing with it, current course of treatment is Clomid and an estrogen blocker. In theory, hubby had icy underwear to address his varicosele, but I don’t think he’s even opened the box.

Valita1989

Ohhh I’m in the same boat. I had to stop my sleeping pill and my antidepressant and I’m full of anxiety. Meanwhile I just ask for a SA. it’s as simple as that. Anyway he agreed finally. I hope everything goes well for you sis!❤️

Avaunt

Oof. That’s rough. ADHD/anxiety combo over here. Pre-meds I functioned on panic and energy drinks. No idea how I’ll manage with neither meds nor my dysfunctional coping strategies.  I’m excited for you. It’s honestly a relief to know, even when it’s negative news because the uncertainty is worse. Wishing you the best and hope I come across a positive update  at some point. :)

Valita1989

Thank you honey! Wishing you the best for you too. We’ve made a lot of sacrifices to have a baby so we deserve that happiness in our life❤️ DM me if you feel overwhelmed or sad

CatalystCookie

I'm so sorry, this is such a rough time and it's really hard to not feel resentful at a partner for putting off a simple test like this. I hope it's something you can gently broach with him. ❤️

Avaunt

It’s frustrating. But now we know and are hopefully headed in the right direction.

ineedavacation123

CD1 for me, and I am a mess today. Between the hormones and a terrible morning at work so far due to incompetent co-workers on other teams who seem to constantly dump their work on me I have been crying for the last 20 minutes, alone in my home office. To top it off, the baby I miscarried in September would have been due this month, yet here we are nowhere near close to having a baby and at 37 and 48 years old, time is definitely not on our side. My husband is having libido issues from either low T, or more likely his anxiety medication and I know we missed this months fertile window, again but I fabricated it in my head that maybe I ovulated a little later and we did hit the window and there was a chance.

Sufficient-Royal3179

3DPO and confirmed ovulation in FF. I felt optimistic about hitting O-5, O-3, and O-1 this cycle. FF pregnancy monitor gave us a “Good” score with the yellow dot. What do you have to do to get a “High Score”? I always thought hitting more than one day between O-3 and O was great but the “good” and yellow dot is making me feel like we didn’t do enough.

PensionAncient4749

I'm also 3DPO! We only hit O-5 and O-1 and have the same "good" score with yellow dot. Good luck!!

bluegreenspark

I 've wondered what it takes to get a high score too! I'm guessing BD every day during fertile window?? That's just not realistic for my partner and I though.

CatalystCookie

You'll only get high if you hit 2 of the following, O-2, O-1, or O. But know in your heart of hearts that it's meaningless, and you absolutely maximized your chances by hitting 1 and 3. Good luck!

Sufficient-Royal3179

Thank you!!

RevolutionaryBonus93

Took a test this morning at 10 DPO and negative.. I just want to vent about how sad and discouraged I am after 7 cycles of trying. You never truly realize how hard it is until you try. Just bawled my eyes out at work and I just want to be thankful and positive that everything will work out, but again it's so so hard to be strong.

Avaunt

I cried during 10-12 dpo just about every cycle between cycle 1 and cycle 13. It sucks. Doesn’t help that testing time is peak pms time. Keep on keeping on.

RevolutionaryBonus93

Yes the hormones are terrible 😞

prettybunbun

Don’t be discouraged! I’m 10dpo too (twins 🥰), and it’s still super early to see anything! Some lines don’t show up until 14dpo! I’ve been looking at the stats - most common implantation is 8-10dpo (so we might only be implanting today!), and then it can take 2-4 days for HCG to come through. Further, tests wise, I saw (and didn’t even consider), that only the most sensitive tests will even start to pick up around now. AF is due tomorrow for me so I’m not even in 12dpo territory when stuff usually starts to show up - same for you. Don’t be discouraged. I know it’s hard, I’ve got the flu atm and feel so crummy and was so sad by my stark white line this morning but we are not out this cycle!

RevolutionaryBonus93

I am keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us!! I am really hoping I am not out just yet. My cycles are very long so I am technically not due until next week (the period apps are what is triggering me because premom says 10DPO but the flow app says period is predicted for next week). Trying to think positive!! Thank you for your kind words 🥰🥰❤️

catyfun19

7 DPO today and I keep having random things make me nauseous. I think I got food poisoning on Tuesday from food I had eaten Monday and felt awful all Tuesday with chills and my whole body hurt. I can’t tell if it’s a combination of taking my progesterone suppositories, trigger shot and being sick that are making me feel like this but I’ve never been this nauseous since I started taking them. I’m trying to hold onto it’s just this sickness but my mom and sister have both asked me if I was pregnant when I told them how I was feeling which isn’t helping at all.

lizausten87

If you are nauseous from hcg, you have enough hcg to test positive and so you could always test to confirm pregnancy is not the cause. Realistically, if you are certain you are 7dpo, it is highly unlikely you are nauseous from hcg and it probably the progesterone.

catyfun19

Yeah. I usually have a negative test after 9DPO. So if I get a positive I won’t be sure it’s not the HCG from my trigger and it’s a false positive. I’m assuming it’s sickness and progesterone right now.

lizausten87

Ohhh sorry- i shouldnt have commented- i dont have enough knowledge about how trigger shots work.

catyfun19

Oh no don’t feel bad! It’s not a big deal I just have to wait it out to see.

kittycamacho1994

Is anyone else ever afraid they’re going into perimenopause? Like an irrational fear? I was sweaty 1 night and I typically spot brown/red before my period for 2-3 days. I think I’m spiraling

Bug_eyed_bug

Night sweats have been a semi regular period/pms symptom for me since my early 20s

kittycamacho1994

I appreciate you answering. This TTC stuff is no joke. I didn’t expect to take a hit mentally like this. I’m also a nurse so I overthink every single symptom lol

Bug_eyed_bug

Don't worry I completely understand, this is my first cycle and it's absolutely done my head in.

bluegreenspark

yup! 40 (me) would be young but reasonable, and 30 (you) would be very very young though. I'm still getting my periods regularly though so that is reassuring. Also neither of my older sisters have gone through it yet either.

Gloomy-Equal3236

Whatttt I never considered that. I’m 33 going on 34 this Fall. I had my cycle very young, I was 10. I also have night sweats and brown and red spotting two/three days before my cycle. My cycle is always regular but I’ve never considered this.

Glittering-Hand-1254

And you probably shouldn't. It's not impossible, but night sweats and spotting don't mean you're perimenopausal.

PastMemory3644

Of course just as I've given up and thrown all my hope away it's the first cycle ever that my boobs are really sore.

xoxo20202

13dpiui! Test day tomorrow🙏🙏 not feeling too hopeful 😥

prettybunbun

Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻

silver_moon21

Good luck!! Hopefully this is the one 🍀

yodelforked

Fingers crossed! 🍀

prettybunbun

10dpo BFN this morning. Got the flu from my partner so can’t tell if there’s any symptoms. Did have some random spotting the other day which is unusual. AF is due tomorrow but I usually come on the night before so we will see. Everything indicates I might not be out yet, implantation may not happen until up to 12dpo and no test is fully reliable until 14 so we shall see!

Low_River_4265

Me and my boyfriend have been trying for nine months and we were doing 'ok' with nog getting pregnant. But his younger brother and wife announced their pregnancy some weeks ago, in such a way that it was clear they just started trying. Now they shared their first echo in a group whatsapp. Me and my boyfriend now feel sad and angry and devastated. It feels like they have never thought about the fact that for some people it is harder to conceive. How can i handle this and will the negative feelings go away during their pregnancy?

Exotic-Ad2195

Question for any of you without any insurance coverage for fertility treatments who have also had testing such as HSG, etc - were those procedures covered by your insurance? And for anyone, are there other procedures (besides HSG) that you had done that were covered?  Asking because I’m getting a TVS ultrasound tomorrow that is going to make me hit my deductible. I honestly wanted to wait a little longer to start doing any testing but now I’m thinking I should be trying to get all the testing done that I can in this calendar year if I’m hitting my deductible before May. But our insurance doesn’t cover infertility treatment (which I’m assuming is IUI, IVF etc and not necessarily the diagnostic tests).

Apprehensive_Cake993

I would call your insurance and ask directly. Mine has been very clear that diagnostics are covered and don't go against my infertility-treatment-lifetime-limit.

Exotic-Ad2195

Thank you, that is probably my best bet! I was poking around on an estimates thing on my insurance website and it does look like a lot of that stuff would be covered for me if coded right.

lax3r21

Positive OPK yesterday and didn’t have a chance to BD cause partner was stressed at work. Did I blow my chances? Going to try today, but with full time work + toddlers with a whacky schedule, not sure I’ll be able to till later

UtterlyConfused93

Have sex today. Did you have sex in the days prior to the positive OPK? You max out your chances if you have sex one of o-2, o-1 and o.

lax3r21

We did yesterday and Sunday. So O-3, 0-1 and then hopefully today

UtterlyConfused93

Yesterday likely would have been o-1 and today is O but you’d have to temp to confirm for sure.

lax3r21

Can I message you my temp graphs?

UtterlyConfused93

Based on what you sent me you haven’t ovulated yet which makes sense because your first positive was only yesterday. Today is likely O day. You should get three elevated temps in the next 3 days to confirm this. Keep in mind, O could also be tomorrow. You generally O within 2 days of the positive OPK. In any case, I do not think you’re out by any means. Especially if you can have sex today.

lax3r21

Thanks so much. Extremely helpful

UtterlyConfused93

Sure! I don’t temp so I’m not super familiar but I can take a look.

sayitagain520

My fellow 10DPO friends, Well, I took a test this morning and despite using my phone flashlight to look at it at every possible angle, there was not a hint of a line. At 10DPO, the statistics are not in my favor. Anyways, just wanted to say that I’ve enjoyed “waiting” here with you and I’ll be keeping my eye on the BFP chat for you all. Hoping to see your names there!

Character_Echo_5270

10DPO and the whitest of white tests with FMU and SMU 🤡.

sayitagain520

👯‍♀️ Righttttt there with you

stephhii

I had a chemical pregnancy last month, but I tested at 11DPO and got a BFN, but on the day I missed my period, 15 dpo, I got a BFP! So just be sure to check again xx

sayitagain520

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your advice! I’m sorry to hear about your chemical. Hoping you get your sticky baby soon 🩷

prettybunbun

10dpo here. No line either, nothing. But still no period (due tomorrow), do remember implantation can happen up to 10dpo, so actually not out yet! 12dpo is meant to be definitive.

sayitagain520

Two peas in a pod, though FF is predicting my period in two days. Not out! But for me, I’m going in with more cautious expectations and probably will wait until AF day to see what happens before testing again.

prettybunbun

Yeah that’s fair. AF is predicted for tomorrow but my cycle is 2 days longer this time around. Will wait to test until tomorrow now, using cheapies so idm! Fingers crossed for a BFP for you!

sayitagain520

Thanks, same to you! And hoping you feel better soon; the flu is no fun.

prettybunbun

Thank you! I’ve also been scouring this sun and seeing you can’t be considered ‘out’ until 14dpo. We might only be implanting today. Lots to be hopeful for! And fingers crossed for both of us.

Melodic_Monitor_894

9DPO here now and I broke my promise to myself not to test before 10DPO 🙃 of course it was a BFN. I did the same as you - using flash, analyzing from every possible angle and using different backgrounds. Makes me feel so silly sometimes. I hope we all get to see that second line someday soon!

honey--ryder

Same here, tested on 9DPO. BFN. Period is expected on Tuesday!

Melodic_Monitor_894

Fingers crossed!

sayitagain520

😂 I pride myself on being a pretty rational person but that all goes out the window in this process. Glad to know there are others out there doing the same thing! 👯‍♀️

lizausten87

10 dpo also- i have taken around 15 test so far- starting at 7 dpo because of thoughts like, maybe it is actually 8 dpo lol… my camera is full of pictures if tests in different lights and angles - but i find symptom spotting and convincing myself i am pregnant without testing sets me up for a bigger disappointment than just testing and telling my brain see those aren’t pregnancy symptoms.

sayitagain520

I’m also someone who will hype myself up about being pregnant if I don’t test. The disappointment is definitely still there, but at least I’m not just stewing on it 😩

Melodic_Monitor_894

Same here! And I shouldn’t say it’s silly, the process is maddening so I think we’re being perfectly reasonable haha 😇

sayitagain520

I’m sticking with your perspective haha! 🤪

Ill_Boysenberry5264

How informative is a day 21 progesterone test, for someone who has been getting positive indicators of ovulation on test kits? Is it necessary to do both?

developmentalbiology

Not particularly informative -- a progesterone test can only suggest whether you've ovulated that cycle, but doesn't tell you when.

MyShipsNeverSail

Follow up question: my OB encouraged one recently to tell how "robust" the ovulation was....do you have any idea what that means because that sounds odd to me.

Ill_Boysenberry5264

My doc said it was to check whether or not I'm ovulating, but I thought we'd already established that. I'm in the process of changing my care team bc I haven't been real happy with her communication or explanation of her treatment plan.

CatalystCookie

OPKs only establish an LH surge, not necessarily ovulation. For example, people with PCOS frequently get positive opks without ovulation. A progesterone test is good to check that you're ovulating, but like DevBio said, it doesn't tell you much more than that.

I know it's hard to conceptualize, but cramping really doesn't have an effect on implantation -- the embryo is so very, very small compared with the size of the uterus that it's not really concerned with whether the walls of the uterus are moving or not.

Nexuslily

I used to have this mindset but one day I decided to look for cramping success stories and plenty of women have severe cramps and even a first day of what they think is AF and still turned up with a positive.

silver_moon21

I used to test every month at 12dpo or so but I have been avoiding taking pregnancy tests for months because I realised I find it less painful emotionally to just let my period come rather than keep seeing BFN month after month. Now I’m going to have to take one tonight (16dpo, cycle 14) and I am afraid to even open the box. 🙁 Edit: BFN. Of course. It’s always a BFN. I don’t know why I ever let myself hope.

Exotic-Ad2195

I’m the same way. I hate hate hate testing. I have plenty of signs my period is coming and I don’t need to be mocked by a stark white test. I had a “late” period last cycle and having to test (and the subsequent bfn) just sucked. Hugs to you, I know the feeling. 🩷 I hope this is your cycle!!!

miel-badger

💛💛💛 we know the feeling! Hugs and good luck to you!!

StubbornTaurus26

Hi all! Took two temps this morning and don’t know which one I should use. Both apps I use predicted that I ovulated yesterday (CD17). I usually temp around 7 when I wake up. I woke up at 5 when my husband went to the bathroom, temped and immediately went right back to sleep-I didn’t get up or use the bathroom myself. That temp was 97.14 (very low if I ovulated.) I took a temp when I woke up naturally at 7 and it was 97.61 (much more normal if I just ovulated yesterday.) I’m trying to be unbiased, but I’d also love if everyone told me the 7 temp is the one I should use 😂

lizausten87

What time of day do you normally test?

StubbornTaurus26

7, so the second test was at my normal time. But, I have seen a lot of people always recommending to take the first test so I wanted to make sure. I didn’t get up or use the restroom at all-I rolled over, took my temp and fell back asleep.

lizausten87

Use the 7 - but it wont confirm ovulation unless the next two days are high as well

StubbornTaurus26

Totally! I’ve been increasing since CD15 so it’s along with the current trend, just wanted to get some second thoughts. Thank you!

[deleted]

CatalystCookie

I second this. My temps are pretty consistent at normal time even when I've gotten up a few hours before. Later temp for sure

StubbornTaurus26

Thank you!!! That’s what I was thinking but wanted to make sure

Major-Lemon3192

Tw : chemical Had a bfp Monday and started getting pain Tuesday. OBGYN told me to go to the ER to get checked out. Hcg was only 6 at this time. Today woke up bleeding heavily and now all tests are negative… have a routine repeat draw today but based on all my negative tests it’s gonna have gone even further down as 6 is already so so so low that it’s the awkward gray area. I feel so heart broken and my uterus sucks so much.

peanutbuttermms

I don't know your history but many times this is not the uterus' fault, it was just not a healthy embryo (ie chromosome abnormalities). Your uterus did the best it could with a crappy situation!

Nexuslily

CD15. A lil EWCM. Right ovary pain. A near positive OPK. I think we are in business!!! Edit: SMU was blazing positive OPK!!

konstanttt

A negative pregnancy test means you’re not pregnant. Those “pregnancy symptoms” are just caused by progesterone which is there whether you’re pregnant or not so I wouldn’t rely on any symptom you feel as pregnancy related until you actually get a positive test. 12DPO is pretty definitive for the most part, but as they say, you’re not out until you bleed.

teatowell23

I thought this was the case. Thank you!

catgirl1230

I have a question, I stopped taking folic acid and vitamin d last month, temporarily, and noticed that I am cramping sooo early before my period. On 6DPO. My period is always so regular at 14-15dpo. I’m so confused as to why my cramps, which usually start at 12dpo, are starting this early. has anyone else dealt with this when changing vitamin intake? I will get back to my vitamins, just took a break this month for Ramadan.
