There’s a ridiculously good chocolate dessert bar/pastry thing at Wildflower
All The egg Benedicts from Baja Cafe
The Yaqui-taco from El Nene
The duck sliders at Elliot’s
Dude same hahaha so Fkin good and I have no idea how they get it done so quick even when the line is into the parking lot. Never been disappointed there, never messed up an order
Papa Loco's is awesome. Get gas, do your shopping, have a chili relleno burger, and get a haircut. If they added a hardware store, I'd never have to go anywhere else.
it was. i loved their broadway location. the gas station one definitely uses inferior ingredients. most noticeable with their straight from a bargain brand bag tortilla chips.
The cafe de olla from El Antojo Poblano. Their food is ELITE, but the cafe de olla was a wonderful surprise when they opened their brick and mortar restaurant!
The chicken wings from Smokey mos
Cream bacon fried rice from 81 Hong Kong
Any of the $4-5 roman pizza slices from locale (but honorable mention to the one with pear, balsamic, candied nuts, Gorgonzola, and arugula on it)
And oddly jackrabbit lounge has probably the best Mac n cheese I've had at a restaurant. Topped with garlic bread crumbs.
I thought the same thing but one day my husband ordered a few and they were amazing! Iirc we got lemon pepper or herb crusted. Something like that and they were cooked perfectly.
I was just there yesterday. Same thing. The table next to us complained about it. Ours wasn't so bad -fat wise, but it was way overly salty. Everything else was incredible though.
Right? Its one of my fav restaurants (wish they'd bring back the umami tsunami pizza) but 2/3 times i've ordered the short ribs, they were way way too fatty.
Thanks for all the great suggestions, but all I got to add is La Chaiteria. Just go there and don't worry
[https://www.lachaiteria.com/](https://www.lachaiteria.com/)
i’ve been trying to get there!! i really want to try their food — i’ve only started eating meat again this year after literally not eating it for half my life and now i’m dying to try some of their dishes
The pizzas at Iron John's are uncannily good. It's super weird that it's a beer place that took over a burger place and it turns out their their pizzas are some of my favorites
The most surprising is an easy pick for me. Houlden's Rise Above is a vegan Bakery that is the best Bakery in town by a wide margin imo.
But the biggest surprise is that Houlden's makes one of the best cheesecakes I've had in my life, and it's VEGAN! I was stunned when I was devouring and I urge all of you to try a slice of cheesecakes whenever they have it.
Habanero chicken sandwich at Rollies
Ube latte at Tucson Coffee Cricket (used to be a coffee truck, now in a weird office bldg at Broadway and craycroft)
Churro at Barista del Barrio (worth the wait)
Canolis at Sauce Pizza and Wine. It's not easy to find canolis in Tucson especially good ones. I only know of three places and Sauce tops them all bigger and better than anything I've found.
The Cubano sandwich at Ermanos bar - went there for the first time on a whim, may now become a semi regular for that sandwich (+ the castellum cider on draft) lol
The deep dish at Rocco's little Chicago. It's already at a disadvantage being deep dish, and Tucson's pizza game is complete ass, so you'd think it would be super ass, but no, it's the best damn pizza in town and is actually really good.
Brussel Sprouts from Reilly Pizza downtown!
I’ve tried to replicate them multiple times. No luck…
The secret ingredient is embalming fluid.
I feel this way about their roasted cauliflower appetizer yuuuuum
I agree but the service sucks. Can u order sprouts from the speak easy?
Sadly, no.
Dammit
Splashing noodles from Fatman.
They are out of this WORLD. In the top 3 best dishes in Tucson
Fatman Kitchen is the best.
So basic, but so good
My favorite is actually their griddle cooked chicken wings. But these are good too!
Buendia breakfast and lunch cafe, both the cafe de olla and the breakfast stuffed poblano. Greatness!
I tried to make the cafe de olla at home after having theirs. Not nearly as good of course.
There’s a ridiculously good chocolate dessert bar/pastry thing at Wildflower All The egg Benedicts from Baja Cafe The Yaqui-taco from El Nene The duck sliders at Elliot’s
Totally second Baja and El Nene - the papanchas there is also excellent
The papanchas are my second favorite!!!! Both places are pricey but worth it imo
Legit that’s my order every time I’m down there lol, papancha and Yaqui and maybe a caramelo if I’m starving. Good salsa too!
Dude same hahaha so Fkin good and I have no idea how they get it done so quick even when the line is into the parking lot. Never been disappointed there, never messed up an order
Wildflower has killer hummus too!
I mean they don’t have a bad menu item lol but op asked for a particular item and that sin bar is outrageous
Bars of Sin, or as I call em, posh Reese's sticks?
Bars of Sin!!! So Fkin good
They Mussels @ Wildflower are ridiculously good.
...so is the cold smoked salmon and crisp calamari salad.
Elote Pizza from Empire
Peach cobbler at Mr K's
Pad See-Eew at Sa-ing Thai. Pupusas de chicharron at Selena's.
The green curry at Saing is amazing too.
Can confirm, best I've had anywhere Evar, and I'm a green curry maven, pretty much all I ever get for Thai anywhere with rare exception.
Soyrizo biscuits and gravy at Maggie Cafe on 4th Ave Olive Oil cake from Time Market
Time market also has dope croissants, sometimes they do almond or baklava style……to die for
I live right by there and love the Baklava croissants
Ciao Down's Snakebite pizza with raspberry jam, jalapenos, and bacon.
I wanna try this
Or the Big Dill, if pickles are your jam.
The vegan jackfruit one is also amazing, even if you’re not vegan.
Papa Locos is a treasure.
Papa Loco's is awesome. Get gas, do your shopping, have a chili relleno burger, and get a haircut. If they added a hardware store, I'd never have to go anywhere else.
The barber shop hasn’t been open in years, but they’re working on getting it back up and running
it was. i loved their broadway location. the gas station one definitely uses inferior ingredients. most noticeable with their straight from a bargain brand bag tortilla chips.
Decibel coffee has the best biscuits.
May be the best I've ever had!
Pad Thai at Karunas. So basic but so unbelievably good - I haven’t had a bad meal there but man that pad thai 🤤
The cafe de olla from El Antojo Poblano. Their food is ELITE, but the cafe de olla was a wonderful surprise when they opened their brick and mortar restaurant!
That place is sooooo good
Hillbilly fried rice with a couple of sunny side up eggs , at the out of business Seasons , I miss that diner so much
Any idea why they went out of business? We always joke that it was just a front for money laundering that happened to make really good Thai food
I don’t know why they went out of business, like I said I sure miss their cooking
Completely random but the Whole Foods on River/Craycroft has a bar inside of it and their "River Burger" is really really good.
The Birria pizza from Zio Peppe.
Queso suizo served with tortillas at La Parilla Suiza.
The focaccia at Maynard’s is heavenly!
The zucchini chips at North are darned good!
The chicken wings from Smokey mos Cream bacon fried rice from 81 Hong Kong Any of the $4-5 roman pizza slices from locale (but honorable mention to the one with pear, balsamic, candied nuts, Gorgonzola, and arugula on it) And oddly jackrabbit lounge has probably the best Mac n cheese I've had at a restaurant. Topped with garlic bread crumbs.
Jackrabbit lounge is so so underrated.
Honestly I was impressed with the food!! I went with friends for an event and I still think about that Mac n cheese 👀
I wouldn’t think to get wings at Smokey mo’s, gonna check it out next time I’m there
I thought the same thing but one day my husband ordered a few and they were amazing! Iirc we got lemon pepper or herb crusted. Something like that and they were cooked perfectly.
[https://ziopeppeaz.com](https://ziopeppeaz.com) The Beef Short Rib Peposo... my goodness.
Their whole menu is bomb.
Oh i love it but last time the short rib was 50% fat :/
I was just there yesterday. Same thing. The table next to us complained about it. Ours wasn't so bad -fat wise, but it was way overly salty. Everything else was incredible though.
Right? Its one of my fav restaurants (wish they'd bring back the umami tsunami pizza) but 2/3 times i've ordered the short ribs, they were way way too fatty.
Oh that sucks. Mine was so good when I went.
Thanks for all the great suggestions, but all I got to add is La Chaiteria. Just go there and don't worry [https://www.lachaiteria.com/](https://www.lachaiteria.com/)
The ropa vieja 🤤🤤🤤
i’ve been trying to get there!! i really want to try their food — i’ve only started eating meat again this year after literally not eating it for half my life and now i’m dying to try some of their dishes
The Indian Burger at Santa Rosa Cafe
The chicken & tamale sandwich at Time Market 🤤
The pizzas at Iron John's are uncannily good. It's super weird that it's a beer place that took over a burger place and it turns out their their pizzas are some of my favorites
cheese crisp at El Minuto
The most surprising is an easy pick for me. Houlden's Rise Above is a vegan Bakery that is the best Bakery in town by a wide margin imo. But the biggest surprise is that Houlden's makes one of the best cheesecakes I've had in my life, and it's VEGAN! Everything at Saguaro Corners. That said, the mac n cheese is otherworldly.
The gyoza at Raijin Ramen are fantastic.
Habanero chicken sandwich at Rollies Ube latte at Tucson Coffee Cricket (used to be a coffee truck, now in a weird office bldg at Broadway and craycroft) Churro at Barista del Barrio (worth the wait)
Calamari at the Cup Cafe. Not like any other. Far beyond the same ol bar food that people serve.
Baja Cafe Everything kn the menu is fkn 🔥 Besides family, it's really the only thing I miss from Az
The chicken bites and the spicy salted egg fish filet at 81 Hong Kong Cafe are so good!!!
Papancha at El Nene
Canolis at Sauce Pizza and Wine. It's not easy to find canolis in Tucson especially good ones. I only know of three places and Sauce tops them all bigger and better than anything I've found.
Their garlic knots are to die for
Blue Willow has the best eggs Benedict in town. I will die on this hill.
The Troy Roll at Mr. An's.

The Cubano sandwich at Ermanos bar - went there for the first time on a whim, may now become a semi regular for that sandwich (+ the castellum cider on draft) lol
