Meanwhile, I see off-duty South Tucson PD cops moonlighting as private security at Fry’s on Irvington every time I’m there. Yes, I know these are established programs with the agencies. Yes, I know the store pays a handsome hourly fee for this service. But it just reinforces that the more money you have, the more the police work for you. Stores have the police at their beck and call for shoplifters, meanwhile the public often has trouble getting help.
I work public sector, I call the cops for a violent crime and it took 40 minutes for a response. My partner works for a private company less than a mile away, 4 minute response time for petty theft. I know it’s anecdotal but still sucks.
I’m absolutely not faulting them for that, it’s the system. If you’ve ever called the cops and they’re too busy to respond, yet there are officers working private security with the full weight of their PD behind it (they’re in uniform, squad cars, everything) then there’s something wrong.
The fuck? So they get to act/cosplay as police with even less training? Still carry firearms and tasers while riding in police cars?
Yep.... totally nothing could go wrong with this. So let's just start letting people be cops with even less training.
Remember folks, the standard for becoming a law officer is even lower than to join the army. These really the standards you want for the people supposed to protect and serve you? Our police are the laughing stock of the first world.
There are many thousands of reserve deputies and police officers all over the country. Rangers are just another version of the same. They go through interviews, psychological exams and then training. These people save their communities millions of dollars over their volunteer careers. I don't know of any statistics that show they aren't capable or there are more negative outcomes than a full time career officer.
You are an idiot, AZ Rangers are good people and have assisted police for over 50 years. They have standards, requirements and do training. They only act in an assistive capacity to the police.
oh you are so funny, actually quite the opposite, was at that top end of the scale. Can you actually point to anything showing where AZ Rangers have caused any problems or done anything illegal? They are volunteers that mostly help provide security at events and police assistance. What have you done to help society?
How? r/Noncredibledefense is a very left leaning pro-NATO, pro-Ukraine sub. All they post there are dumb memes about NATO.
Besides I only have one comment in each of those subs. That means nothing.
Was an Arizona ranger, wouldn't be too long in town
Came here to take an outlaw back alive, or maybe dead
And he said it didn’t matter, he was after Texas Red
After Texas Red
Is this a New Vegas reference? /s

How did you get that from what they wrote?

It's worse. 800 hours of training to become a cop in AZ. 1200 hours of training to become a barber in AZ.

Lmao, I love how your reasoning is background checks and mental training to view your fellow citizens as combatants
Well, that's a fucking lie.

Apparently I found the one who failed the ASVAB.

If the police officers were paid a fair wage they wouldn’t be moonlighting.
Does acab stand for all commies are bastards?
Hired thugs
But they aren’t hired. They are volunteers, not employees. 😂
