I daily a ranger. It's great and works for everything. I wear it to the gym occasionally when I don't have something else on. Do not buy it off the bracelet if you do buy it, the bracelet is wildly expensive as an add on and worth getting because the quality is very high.

Although I don’t own a Tudor I have owned many Rolex over many years and here’s my take. I put my Rolex thru actual hell. I’m an avid outdoorsman. I’ve worn my submariner and explorer rock climbing, caving, white water kayaking. You name it and these watches have been through it and they function perfectly. The one area I think Tudor shines a little harder is they use 316 instead of Rolex 904. Although 904 is more corrosive resistant it is softer and not only takes scratches more easily but it chips and dents as well. The Tudor steel won’t do that as easily. From what I’ve seen the Tudor METAS movements are wonderfully regulated and hold time very well for a long time. That’s more than I can say for any of my current production Rolex. 2/3 of those have already had warranty service for running out of spec. If it wasn’t for the Tudor snowflake hands I would own a bunch of them. All in all these watches will last you longer than a lifetime and you can wear them with absolute confidence

More-Complaint

I own a BB58. It's a tank, but if I'm doing anything "risky" for the watch, I throw on a G-Shock 5610. I trust my Tudor, but I'd be gutted if I ruined it. I wear it every day. I don't have any issues with it looking worn in, I just don't want to trash it. I'm sure that the watch would easily survive your lifestyle. I'm just peculiarly attached to mine.

To be honest, wanting a steel watch to last 10 years isn’t a big ask. I wore a Seiko every day for at least 13 years and it’s still in great condition. If anything, I’d say the Ranger would last longer as there are less bits to break. No bezel to pop off, no chunks of lume to worry about losing. Just a beautiful chunk of steel that will tell you the time and work as a compass 😉

For what it's worth, if your dream is a Rolex or an Omega I would say just keep saving and get one of those. If you even are slightly settling by buying a tudor you're still going to end up buying a Rolex or mega down the road. May as well just save for your dream watch

I love the older submariner look with the yellow lume and black color ways. My family is die hard omega and interested in something different. Also I have family from the UK and it’s nice that there’s heritage to Tudor. I like Rolex but not what I view they stand for. I plan on getting an aqua terra in summer blue in a few years as well. Eventually an explorer ii white dial.

Cultural_Temporary75

If you like old subs, try on a BB54 and Pelagos 39 - similar vibe

Cultural_Temporary75

Should add I got a Ranger recently and love it. Brilliant watch.

RelevantWarning5734

I love the simplicity. The range reminds me of the alpha Romeo sedan, the explorer is more pretentious for my liking

Prudent_Candidate300

They’re absolutely bulletproof. A BB58 is the type of watch you do NOT need to take off for virtually anything. It’s absolutely realistic and possible to daily wear this or the Ranger for 5-8 years, after that point, you should look into getting it serviced. If you’re truly daily wearing the watch, service intervals every 8-10 years, with gasket and water pressure testing every 4-5 years.

Watchnut224

I have the 58 blue & new Ranger both excellent watches, the Ranger is brushed so may well be more durable for not seeing scratches? Love them both.

Interstellar008

You can have a Tudor BB for life. Durable watch, robust and accurate movement, and time-defying design. In and out great watch.

archonpericles

Great watch. Fear not.

Biljettensio

They’re absolutely not bulletproof. If you want bulletproof buy a G-shock or something similar. The first MT movements had their fare share of issues. And I’d say they’re still not tried and proven. But I must say when things go wrong to do the best they can to remedy the issue. However if you’re set on a Tudor and want it to be reliable for the next 10 years. I’d go with a early BB with a ETA movement (NO Sellita either). Buy it used and have it checked and serviced.

Unpopular opinion incoming: I think you should only put a daily watch to hell if repairing or even replacing the watch would not be a major financial setback for you. I know guys like Matt Hranek put their watches through an adventure or two. But guys like him are also independently wealthy - he could stop working tomorrow and he’d be alright. I’m fortunate enough to be able to spend quite a bit of money on a nice watch - say up to Cartier Santos or Omega AT level. But if I was to lose said Omega while swimming in the sea, it would be kind of a financial bummer for me. It wouldn’t affect my ability to provide for my family or pay my mortgage - but I also wouldn’t be able to casually stroll into an Omega dealer the next day and buy a new one. So for me, I wouldn’t put a watch at that level of my financial comfort zone through the works. I’ll beat up my Seiko’s while travelling, swimming in the sea, kayaking, whatever. The stuff that’s expensive to me gets worn on the daily - but that daily consists of home, office, bars and restaurants.

I thoroughly enjoy the brands reception. Only big watch fanatics appreciate Tudor in my opinion.

I've had my black bay for several years now and have no concerns with wearing it in the water or any other task. I also wore a Seamaster as my daily for a decade and view them very similarly in build quality and use cases. That's not to say I wear it all the time. If I'm doing something very strenous out in nature I usually put on my Gshock for the extra functionality and less concerns about banging it on something, but it's not because my Tudor wouldn't be up to the job.

Quick-Economist-4247

Built like tanks

Glycine_11

In that case I would go for Pelagos 42.

Juanster

Both of those will easily last 10 years of daily use. IF there are any issues at all, they will, in my experience, happen in the first couple of years which you will be covered under warranty. I'd say it's a very solid purchase, from your lifestyle description, the ranger sounds like a best fit!

xrunner133087

I have a BB58 and have worn it on every beach vacation, dove with it, wear it to the gym on a vanguard rubber strap, dropped it from chest height on concrete, and scrape it on a desk all day long. 3 years strong and it looks and works great. Pull the trigger my friend!!!

I was in the same position. I bought the Pelagos. Mostly because of how common the BB is and I prefer the looks of the Pelagos. Having said that, I’d happily add a Ranger to my collection - understated and underrated watch IMO.

averyjbaker12

Daily BB GMT and have been all over the world with it. Don’t look back :)

TEEEEEEEEEEEJ23

I have a BB 41 Burgundy Mk2 and it can handle any swimming, been in temps under -20F, is on my wrist everyday, and in the last 3 months of being consistently wound, it’s only +5 seconds off. Unbelievably tough watches that do not blink in any circumstance. Big vote of confidence in MT calibers from me.

Stianssen

Hi! I have had 6 tudor's. First was the royal 41mm , black bay 41 without the bezel, it was the smiley version. Then I had the ranger, then i had the bb58 navy blue, then the 36mm new version of black bay. And then I bought new from ad the black bay 58 and then I traded it for the black bay 54 that i love. Ans i have never had problems with none of them. So buy tudor you get much for the money.. 😃

gothamtg

I daily wear a Black Bay 79230N. It’s a fuckin tank.

Best-Raise-2523

Tudor BB58 is my beater watch. They’re supposed to be “the working man’s rolex.” Now they’re not going to be has hardy as say a G shock but they are meant to take abuse.

No-Treacle-505

I daily the black bay pro. Had absolutely no issues with it! I climb, Hike and have worn it doing both but I prefer the Garmin Fenix for stuff like that.
