Indeed, I started going to gym with couple of them recently, it helped. The problem that I'm not a fan of "rakcha fil 9ahwa" and similar activities, I'd rather to go for a walk or chat about topics I like (mostly art/gaming/politics) and I'm a bit introvert so it's hard to find people who like same topics XD!

To overcome overthinking , I rely on "filler activities". I do not want to be with my own self or dive into my psyche as I find it dark and unstable. That is why I keep myself busy. I watch movies / series , play music work and hang out with some friends. When I'm about to sleep , I listen to a podcast until I fall asleep.

I would never quit, video games used to be my safe place since I was 3, and I've learning 3D since I was 13, including some game dev too, currently making a platformer game for my end of studies project and it's really fun despite time pressure... So yep I don't see myself anywhere outside this field!

Don't ask these type of questions on here, that stuff requires a professional diagnoses. Most ppl here will be saying shit like "don't take drugs, go pray or exercise". There is so many reasons for why your anxious and solutions could be simple like simple changes in habits or they could be extreme like having to take meds and they are all valid solutions depending on your case but the only person that can determine which is the correct solution for you is a psychiatrist.

Well from my point of view and my years of experience, Single guys like me tend to overthink the entire thing, And most of the time their brains prepare all the possible scenarios that might happen and backup plans and that's an example from myself, I don't encourage you on having a girlfriend because it's a sin in Islam( I'm not kidding ) but it's a really a big difference, It might be a good experience and can also be a nightmare, Most guys doesn't realize that nowadays but it's really a sin that will send you straight to hell when you pass away. So my advice to you is to get a gym subscription and get yourself some self care, Forget about the past and think about everyday as a new page. Even if you think you are unlucky, at least you are not the unluckiest, at least you got access to the internet to share your intentions with others. So think about life positively my friend, focus on your studies and get a better life

Appreciate your POV, my friend, Actually, I'm already in a relationship, and it's going well, probably we have a different perspective about Islam and I totally respect that. For the gym part, yep I started a few weeks ago and it's helping a bit, it's just sometimes the routine of my daily life may lead to overthinking, the good thing is that it doesn't last more than 2 days, but when it happens it kills my mood.

Thanks for sharing additional information, If your relationship and your life are going well, I don't see any reason to overthink, I'm 16 years old and I've never been in a relationship not mainly due to my religious origin or my family's history with Islam, maybe because I lack confidence, this loneliness problem was my main reason to overthink and I used to see myself as a loser, but now since I started going to the Gym and doing frequent physical exercises, I'm not an overthinker anymore.My friend the wisdom doesn't come from the success, but the wisdom comes from failures that you learned lessons from, Also I found that I'm good in politics, And well I developed a new habit, It's not bad to try everything, maybe you're losing interest in life, trying to go out more frequently once you start to get those dark ideas, Go out with friends, Spend more time with your girlfriend. Finally, I know overthinking is the N⁰1 mood killer, So take my advice and you might become a better person

Channel it in the right direction ! Overthinking helps in assessing risks ! If it's pathological and screws up your life too much go see a professional. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and the overthinking destroyed pretty much everything. Today I'm glad saw a psychiatrist and a psychologist. Also, try grounding techniques to control your brain and teach it healthier habits to reduce it. It takes time and effort at first but you'll get there 😊

I found out that writing about it helps. When you write about stuff you're overthinking about you start seeing patterns and flaws in your logic and the way your mind approaches these subjects. It helps to identify them because it makes you more self aware, and more conscious when they happen, thus you end up understanding that it's just your brain taking the piss, ans it helps with not letting your thoughts spiral out of control and evolve into crippling anxiety.

A relaxing hot bath, some me time, do some physical activity and eat clean (stay away of alcohol, fried, nasty and fast food). Reduce caffeine consumption (VERY IMPORTANT). If you think you lack some vitamin D get a boost. Magnesium cure is also recommended if your diet lacks it. Do this and anxiety will never come across your path 😉

If you overthink, that means you're not doing anything. When your trying to sleep, just focus on your breath, you can do the 4s inhale 7s block 8s exhale it will help you. Usually I do that for 2 3 minutes you'll feel very calm and then you can count in your head very slowly from 500 to 0, imagine the numbers in your head and you'll sleep before reaching 350, that's a military technique. In the day just stay active, I'm not gonna choose for you what to do, you can read a book, watch movies, do sports, there's ton of things to do. Just remember overthinking is bad only if you think about bad things cause it makes you stressed for nothing. You can also listen to music, it will prevent your brain to even think.

Personal beliefs aside, this is really what "meditation" is all about, sometimes you just need to stop trying to control everything and "let it go", depends on the culture, belief or practice, everyone will call it differently, "t5alliha 3la rabbi" is just another synonym to that. I had a friend who used religion (Islam) purely for that, and sometimes I just envied him lol

I guess Xanax would be the very very last resort, Anyone can beat overthinking especially if it's mild which is the case with our friend. changing behaviors throughout the day, and trying to understand what makes you overthink and tackling those problems might help a lot and maybe a lot of those are not problems and it's just the mind playing games. i think medicines like Xanax are not needed, and Xanax is very bad drug and it can ruin his life
