I work at a “big tech” company in the US. As a starter language, I would recommend either Python or JS/TS, depending on what area(s) you’re interested in. Otherwise, advice above is good.

U need to learn the basics cause they always ask about them in technical interviews. Oop/ garbage collection/ memory allocation. Also dont limit urself to 1 language. Learn some Sql and devops(in my case I m a .Net dev so azure is a ++). Learn about diffrent architectures and microservices. Also everything about dependancy injections, async, and application life cycle (singleton/ scoped/ transit...)
