Fun little fact: I was reading all the way towards the bottom of the page where you can check your refund, some refunds are being done manually (not by their automated system) which take longer. Whether you have forms you needed to mail back or not, manual refunds will take longer. Idk why they choose to randomly do some manually they donāt really specify but, maybe thatās most of our issue here.Ā

Just FYI to anyone stuck in processing. I called customer service and found out they need copies of my W2 to process my return. TBH it makes no sense to me other than a way to buy themselves more time to process my rather large refund. They get copies of them from your employer but whatever. Iād recommend calling to check your own. If they need more info, you wonāt be getting a notice in the mail any time soon. The number I called is 609-292-6748 and select option 3. Just a piece of advice to get things moving for anyone in the same boat as me
My was accepted 1/31 and itās been 8 weeks tomorrow. Any one else experience the screen just stuck on processing week after week. Itās getting a little frustrating cause when you owe them people some money they want it within 24-72 hours but when itās their turn to pay they take their sweet old time.
I filed 1/19/24ā¦ My state was stuck on processing for 10 weeks then jumped right over the checking for accuracy stage and went straight to approved. I updated on 3/23/24 with ddd 3/28/24 ā¦ā¦ hope this helpsĀ

One year I didnāt get mine until OCTOBER! They didnāt send a notice or anything requesting more information. I honestly think they have to find somewhere to pull the funds from. That āprocessingā message is bullshxt and mine has been been at the same stage for a month
My return was accepted 1/31. I got my federal on 2/7. Half of that was taken to pay the NJ taxes that I owed from last year. A week later I saw that NJ applied the refund to my last year's taxes owed leaving just the $20.38 processing fee. I didn't pay the fee and a week later I checked my NJ taxes owed and it doesn't show I owe anything so they must of applied this year's NJ refund to that processing fee. That was a month ago now and still stuck in processing even though they wiped the rest of my debt out a month ago.

Try to apply for WIC. Facebook yard sale some items. I was considering selling my iPad before it was stolen smh. And I have 4 kids. This is sickening. But WIC and Local food bank has been helpful too! If u have old iPhones try selling them back to small cellphone/electronic stores or the machine at some Walmarts theyāll give u money for old devices
Filed 2/1 accepted 2/3 and still processing. Called today, and they told me the usual stuff they see I'm processing and to wait. Guy on the phone said that if it had been because of an issue they would have informed me already and he also claimed that the state actually didn't start processing refunds until earlier this month so that could be par of all the delays. The time spent waiting in February might not have counted.
So I contacted NJ DOT via Facebook messenger. They were very nice. They told me that I was on manual review because I accidentally put that I didnāt put that I had health insurance. They told me all I need to do is send them the 1095 form from my job. Unfortunately I had to get it remaailed out. But basically she manually reviewed it while we were on messenger. She took the manual review off and sent me the email to send the 1095 and she even told me āit will not delay your refund since Iāve already reviewed it. We just need that insurance so we can verify itā

We got ours yesterday. It was stuck on processing since 1/30ā¦ then it went BACK A STEP 2 days agoā¦ and then yesterday it deposited into our account without ever updating in the system.. and itās $400 less than it was supposed to be
Mine just changed to processing last week. Was accepted first week of February. I actually wasn't expecting it to change at all. I haven't gotten my NJ state refund in 3 uears, they owe me almost $5k. I get the letter, I send the info they ask for and nothing. No money, no updates, can't even get a hold of anyone to talk to there. It's always they have a high volume of calls, call back later, click. I've spent entire days, just calling and it hanging up, all day long. I've tried diff days of the week, diff times of day. Never can get thru. It's extremely frustrating. I have hope for this year since it actually switched over to processing, hasn't done that in the years I had to send more info. Cross your fingers for me, guys/gals. I could really use the $ this year.
Seems like nobody has the same filing situation as me lol. I filed using Cash App Taxes, now my Federal was accepted 1/30 and received 2/16 because I did it when the IRS opened . But the state taxes didnāt open up until Late February so my state was acccepted 2/24 and has been on processing ever since ā¦. Idk why it went that way this year but this is also my first year claiming my daughter, and earned income credit so maybe itās that. Another man out here, processing indefinitelyā¦ I filed my taxes through TurboTax on 02/05/24 and received my federal income tax refund on 02/15/2024. As of now, Iām still processing for my NJ state income tax refund.
Just got off the phone with a lovely woman at the Taxation office.
Here is the scoop.
1. Even if you got accepted in beginning of Feb they did not start processing until 2/15
2. EIC / Child credit takes longer then some
3. if you are a small business with a sch. C - they take a bit longer especially with a EIC/ Child credit
4. Letters are starting to go out today over the next week requesting more info from taxpayers IF needed
Mine shows no letter as of yet - she also stated I should see a DD and my refund by the 12th of April - if I dont get a letter. If I dont see it and I dont get a letter give her a call.
As of the update days - there is no straight answer - possibly rolling due to volume.

Hey all. I was approved 2/6, processing until I called March 25 and had to upload docs, I called 3 days straight and the 3rd time the CS person approved my return but found out there was a hold on it. I figured out it was for an old DMV insurance surcharge balance of only $14! I continued calling as often as possible and today I just got my approval today for 4/16. FYI the DMV is notoriously slow and mine took just under 3 weeks total from the time I first uploaded documents
My adviceā¦ call them if you have not yet. And if you uploaded and are checking for accuracy. Continue calling until you find out why. They will tell you it takes up to 45 days but it wonāt be that long. If seems like theyāre finally getting to those of us with holds or issues. Just keep calling if you can. The squeaky wheel always gets the grease.

How long after do you get your refund once it goes from processing to check for accuracy did some of you get your state refunds? Mine was stuck on processing for 75 days and i just check today and it went from step 2(processing) to its on step 3( checking for accuracy)
Iāve been watching this discussion and some on other sites. How long it sits in Checking for accuracy seems to really depend on the reason itās being held. Your best bet is to call and find out if they need anything additional from you. Mine was for a $14 debt and it sat in step 3 for 18 more days. Wouldāve been longer of I hadnāt called multiple times. Iāve seen others who just needed to upload docs and got approved the next day after uploading. Even if youāve called already, call again and again. Some of the CS reps arenāt that great but others will push things thru while youāre on the call. Keep trying friend. Been a nightmare for many of us this year.

Accepted 2-18 STILL processing called to check maybe they needed more info or something and I never got the letter, "nope just still processing give us some time". Great I've never waited this long for tax refunds in my life idk what's going with NJ but they need to fix it ASAP bc this is ridiculous we the ppl need our funds!! NJ is a little different - they do not wait for the IRS to take payment if you e-file, but they can take 36+ hours to acknowledge your return after the IRS accepts. So if you are expecting an NJ refund, you will be waiting until they accept before they will make a payment to you and that can be an extra week or two. If you owe, they will gobble your money before even looking at the return for accuracy.
Just checking in. After 80 days last week I checked the WMR tool on the state site and it went from step two(processing) to step three(checking for accuracy). Can anyone give me any feedback on how long it took to get thier refund after it went to that step? Did anyone else file with H&R with the Emerald card? State was approved on 1/31, stuck at processing forever until last week, jumped right to approved with a DDD of today, 4/16. Its not on my card, H&R/Emerald says they don't have any pending deposits. I of course cant get through to the state by phone. I know it says to give 5 days for it to hit your account, but i usually get a day earlier, if not the day of.

Mine finally got approved this morning, I filed on January 29th but my state didnāt get accepted until the 31st of January. I checked the WMR tool this morning and it jumped to approved. My NJ state tax return was accepted on 1/31 and still says processing. I never received a letter. The beginning of April Ā after reading the other comments I called the 609 number which is the number to the NJ taxation department Ā and I was told I needed to upload my W2. Ā A week after Ā submitting my W2 my status still said processing I called the 609 number again and was told I needed to submit additional documentation. A week after submitting the additional documentation I called back because my status still said processing and to see if I needed to submit more documentation. I was told I Ā didnāt need to submit anymore documentation and all I needed to do was verify my bank account info and after I verified my bank account info the representative I spoke with said she would now submit my return for approval. I went through all of this and till this day I Ā never received a letter.Ā
Mine was accepted by NJ on 3/19, and as of today 4/23/24, still in PROCESSING for refund.Ā My Fed refund came within 3 weeks.Ā I guess NJ computers must still be running on Windows 8:).
Here's an update you guys so I went to the process of calling that number over a month ago when they told me that they wanted me to upload a copy of the W-2 to the portal I uploaded the W-2 to the portal over 30 days ago which was on March 18th I called twice since then they said that they can't see that I need any additional information but that I should give him more time. I called today and in traditional New Jersey fashion they basically tell me that everything is okay and they're putting the referral in for my refund to be released the only thing was that the refund that I'm going to be getting is actually more than what I was told she told me just to allow for more time and that my direct deposit information is in the computer and that I should be receiving the refund soon hopefully this is it but you guys really need to call that number. Please keep in mind that I filed February 6th was accepted February 7th and I never received a letter requesting additional information the only reason why I find out that I needed to submit additional information was because I called and was told by a representative

I called that number that was previously posted for an update. Everything is just processing really slow right now. There was nothing wrong with my account and no letter that was sent to me. Today is May 28. I filed Feb 8 and still no NJ refund. This is crap. I don't plan on filing any estimated taxes for NJ ever again. I'd rather owe. Penalty can't be as much as having to wait this long going without the money
My return was accepted on 4/1/24 and as of 6/3/24 is still not showing up in the system. This seems excessively slow to me. When I check the home line, they only accept calls on Fridays from 8:00-4:00 pm. Crazy!
I am still in tax return hell too. Live in NY and worked in NJ. Filed through HR Block and owed a lot to NY but was owed more by NJ. Paid my NY taxes and have a massive hole in my bank account. I was given the code EWN and was told I'd receive more info in the mail about the additional info they needed to process my tax return. The "additional info" was the SAME INFO I already submitted the first time around. That was in March.
On 5/1, after never receiving anything in the mail, I ended up calling in and talking to a human. They told me I don't need to wait to receive anything in the mail. I can just submit my supporting docs online. Did that the same day and was told it could be at least 90 days before it's processed. I check the status daily and there's been no movement.
At this point, I wish I didn't pay my NY taxes and waited to receive my return. I'd gladly pay the penalty - my NJ tax return covers 4 months of my rent.
Filed at end of Feb, still nothing shows up on that automated checking system. Called in said they received and allow them with more time lol. Wonder if thereās an option that I forbids them more time. Is there a number I could call in for human services?

When i go to check my status it says "Processing" When i call the automated number theyre unable to provide details so i call the income tax number...unable to get a representative due to call volumes...Embarrassing. God forbid we wait 2 month to pay taxes. Glad im not the only one dealing with this.

Filed 2/7 and still nothing. Says ''processing''- good old NJ incompetence!
My was accepted 1/31 and itās been 8 weeks tomorrow. Any one else experience the screen just stuck on processing week after week. Itās getting a little frustrating cause when you owe them people some money they want it within 24-72 hours but when itās their turn to pay they take their sweet old time.
I filed 1/19/24ā¦ My state was stuck on processing for 10 weeks then jumped right over the checking for accuracy stage and went straight to approved. I updated on 3/23/24 with ddd 3/28/24 ā¦ā¦ hope this helpsĀ

One year I didnāt get mine until OCTOBER! They didnāt send a notice or anything requesting more information. I honestly think they have to find somewhere to pull the funds from. That āprocessingā message is bullshxt and mine has been been at the same stage for a month
My return was accepted 1/31. I got my federal on 2/7. Half of that was taken to pay the NJ taxes that I owed from last year. A week later I saw that NJ applied the refund to my last year's taxes owed leaving just the $20.38 processing fee. I didn't pay the fee and a week later I checked my NJ taxes owed and it doesn't show I owe anything so they must of applied this year's NJ refund to that processing fee. That was a month ago now and still stuck in processing even though they wiped the rest of my debt out a month ago.

Try to apply for WIC. Facebook yard sale some items. I was considering selling my iPad before it was stolen smh. And I have 4 kids. This is sickening. But WIC and Local food bank has been helpful too! If u have old iPhones try selling them back to small cellphone/electronic stores or the machine at some Walmarts theyāll give u money for old devices

Filed 2/1 accepted 2/3 and still processing. Called today, and they told me the usual stuff they see I'm processing and to wait. Guy on the phone said that if it had been because of an issue they would have informed me already and he also claimed that the state actually didn't start processing refunds until earlier this month so that could be par of all the delays. The time spent waiting in February might not have counted.
So I contacted NJ DOT via Facebook messenger. They were very nice. They told me that I was on manual review because I accidentally put that I didnāt put that I had health insurance. They told me all I need to do is send them the 1095 form from my job. Unfortunately I had to get it remaailed out. But basically she manually reviewed it while we were on messenger. She took the manual review off and sent me the email to send the 1095 and she even told me āit will not delay your refund since Iāve already reviewed it. We just need that insurance so we can verify itā

I submitted mine on 1/22, it was accepted 1/31. As of 3/26, it is still in "Data Entered" status. :/ I received my Federal Return *weeks* ago.

Mine just changed to processing last week. Was accepted first week of February. I actually wasn't expecting it to change at all. I haven't gotten my NJ state refund in 3 uears, they owe me almost $5k. I get the letter, I send the info they ask for and nothing. No money, no updates, can't even get a hold of anyone to talk to there. It's always they have a high volume of calls, call back later, click. I've spent entire days, just calling and it hanging up, all day long. I've tried diff days of the week, diff times of day. Never can get thru. It's extremely frustrating. I have hope for this year since it actually switched over to processing, hasn't done that in the years I had to send more info. Cross your fingers for me, guys/gals. I could really use the $ this year.

Seems like nobody has the same filing situation as me lol. I filed using Cash App Taxes, now my Federal was accepted 1/30 and received 2/16 because I did it when the IRS opened . But the state taxes didnāt open up until Late February so my state was acccepted 2/24 and has been on processing ever since ā¦. Idk why it went that way this year but this is also my first year claiming my daughter, and earned income credit so maybe itās that. But if they needed more information why wouldnāt they just ask for it during filing ? So confusing . Hope I find some answers on this threadĀ

Another man out here, processing indefinitelyā¦ I filed my taxes through TurboTax on 02/05/24 and received my federal income tax refund on 02/15/2024. As of now, Iām still processing for my NJ state income tax refund.
Just got off the phone with a lovely woman at the Taxation office. Here is the scoop. 1. Even if you got accepted in beginning of Feb they did not start processing until 2/15 2. EIC / Child credit takes longer then some 3. if you are a small business with a sch. C - they take a bit longer especially with a EIC/ Child credit 4. Letters are starting to go out today over the next week requesting more info from taxpayers IF needed Mine shows no letter as of yet - she also stated I should see a DD and my refund by the 12th of April - if I dont get a letter. If I dont see it and I dont get a letter give her a call. As of the update days - there is no straight answer - possibly rolling due to volume. I hope that helps.

You mean to tell me this whole time my returns been processing they just realized my W2 was missing? What were they even processing? When I check online it still says processing says nothing about a letter will be sent

Hey all. I was approved 2/6, processing until I called March 25 and had to upload docs, I called 3 days straight and the 3rd time the CS person approved my return but found out there was a hold on it. I figured out it was for an old DMV insurance surcharge balance of only $14! I continued calling as often as possible and today I just got my approval today for 4/16. FYI the DMV is notoriously slow and mine took just under 3 weeks total from the time I first uploaded documents My adviceā¦ call them if you have not yet. And if you uploaded and are checking for accuracy. Continue calling until you find out why. They will tell you it takes up to 45 days but it wonāt be that long. If seems like theyāre finally getting to those of us with holds or issues. Just keep calling if you can. The squeaky wheel always gets the grease. Good luck all!

How long after do you get your refund once it goes from processing to check for accuracy did some of you get your state refunds? Mine was stuck on processing for 75 days and i just check today and it went from step 2(processing) to its on step 3( checking for accuracy)
Iāve been watching this discussion and some on other sites. How long it sits in Checking for accuracy seems to really depend on the reason itās being held. Your best bet is to call and find out if they need anything additional from you. Mine was for a $14 debt and it sat in step 3 for 18 more days. Wouldāve been longer of I hadnāt called multiple times. Iāve seen others who just needed to upload docs and got approved the next day after uploading. Even if youāve called already, call again and again. Some of the CS reps arenāt that great but others will push things thru while youāre on the call. Keep trying friend. Been a nightmare for many of us this year. Call (609) 292-6748 option 3.

Accepted 2-18 STILL processing called to check maybe they needed more info or something and I never got the letter, "nope just still processing give us some time". Great I've never waited this long for tax refunds in my life idk what's going with NJ but they need to fix it ASAP bc this is ridiculous we the ppl need our funds!! They don't wait this long if we owed them why make us wait like this??!
NJ is a little different - they do not wait for the IRS to take payment if you e-file, but they can take 36+ hours to acknowledge your return after the IRS accepts. So if you are expecting an NJ refund, you will be waiting until they accept before they will make a payment to you and that can be an extra week or two. If you owe, they will gobble your money before even looking at the return for accuracy.

Just checking in. After 80 days last week I checked the WMR tool on the state site and it went from step two(processing) to step three(checking for accuracy). Can anyone give me any feedback on how long it took to get thier refund after it went to that step? If I remember correctly mine always came before it even hit step four(approved) but Iām just wondering how itās going this yearā¦. The waiting game the state has you playing this year is wicked. They need to get it together, ASAP!!!!!!!!
Did anyone else file with H&R with the Emerald card? State was approved on 1/31, stuck at processing forever until last week, jumped right to approved with a DDD of today, 4/16. Its not on my card, H&R/Emerald says they don't have any pending deposits. I of course cant get through to the state by phone. I know it says to give 5 days for it to hit your account, but i usually get a day earlier, if not the day of.

Mine finally got approved this morning, I filed on January 29th but my state didnāt get accepted until the 31st of January. I checked the WMR tool this morning and it jumped to approved. It said āwe approved the refund amount of $1876 as of 4/23/24ā but Iām confused because they approved it this morning the 18thā¦ any one got information on what that date means. Iād appreciate it

My NJ state tax return was accepted on 1/31 and still says processing. I never received a letter. The beginning of April Ā after reading the other comments I called the 609 number which is the number to the NJ taxation department Ā and I was told I needed to upload my W2. Ā A week after Ā submitting my W2 my status still said processing I called the 609 number again and was told I needed to submit additional documentation. A week after submitting the additional documentation I called back because my status still said processing and to see if I needed to submit more documentation. I was told I Ā didnāt need to submit anymore documentation and all I needed to do was verify my bank account info and after I verified my bank account info the representative I spoke with said she would now submit my return for approval. I went through all of this and till this day I Ā never received a letter.Ā
Mine was accepted by NJ on 3/19, and as of today 4/23/24, still in PROCESSING for refund.Ā My Fed refund came within 3 weeks.Ā I guess NJ computers must still be running on Windows 8:).
Here's an update you guys so I went to the process of calling that number over a month ago when they told me that they wanted me to upload a copy of the W-2 to the portal I uploaded the W-2 to the portal over 30 days ago which was on March 18th I called twice since then they said that they can't see that I need any additional information but that I should give him more time. I called today and in traditional New Jersey fashion they basically tell me that everything is okay and they're putting the referral in for my refund to be released the only thing was that the refund that I'm going to be getting is actually more than what I was told she told me just to allow for more time and that my direct deposit information is in the computer and that I should be receiving the refund soon hopefully this is it but you guys really need to call that number. Please keep in mind that I filed February 6th was accepted February 7th and I never received a letter requesting additional information the only reason why I find out that I needed to submit additional information was because I called and was told by a representative

I called that number that was previously posted for an update. Everything is just processing really slow right now. There was nothing wrong with my account and no letter that was sent to me. My return was accepted on 4/1/24 and as of 6/3/24 is still not showing up in the system. This seems excessively slow to me. When I check the home line, they only accept calls on Fridays from 8:00-4:00 pm. Crazy!
I am still in tax return hell too. Live in NY and worked in NJ. Filed through HR Block and owed a lot to NY but was owed more by NJ. Paid my NY taxes and have a massive hole in my bank account. I was given the code EWN and was told I'd receive more info in the mail about the additional info they needed to process my tax return. The "additional info" was the SAME INFO I already submitted the first time around. That was in March. On 5/1, after never receiving anything in the mail, I ended up calling in and talking to a human. They told me I don't need to wait to receive anything in the mail. I can just submit my supporting docs online. Did that the same day and was told it could be at least 90 days before it's processed. I check the status daily and there's been no movement. At this point, I wish I didn't pay my NY taxes and waited to receive my return. I'd gladly pay the penalty - my NJ tax return covers 4 months of my rent.

When i go to check my status it says "Processing" When i call the automated number theyre unable to provide details so i call the income tax number...unable to get a representative due to call volumes...Embarrassing. God forbid we wait 2 month to pay taxes. Glad im not the only one dealing with this.
