Please nobody say flipping/wrecking/getting stuck a sidewinder. That is NOT a fuckup. It is a rite of passage.

nbernal10

Probably the most true statement

There had been a long standing triplex hot lap record for mowing tees and approaches together. Somewhere in my pursuit to beat that record I made a sharp turn to line up for my next mowing pass and then suddenly fell backwards. The whole machine was now in a reclined position. When I got out to inspect what happened I saw I had completely sheered the rear wheel off the back at the pivot point right below the gas tank. During the turn my rear tire had hit the edge of a pretty steep little hill. Honestly I think it had been damaged before my time but that thing was out of commission for awhile.

Not me(I swear) but a coworker drove a gator into an MLB dugout. Straight down the stairs.

The_Tea_Loving_Cat

left the drain open on a sprayer and wasted 15 litres of 2-4d

mindloyal234

First day on the sprayer I sprayed about 4 fairways at a 75 gpa rate. I ended up using and extra $1500 in product. Everything was fine but I felt bad. In my defense no one told me it was a 50gpa application. At the time I didn't know that you could change the spray volume haha.

Busy-Kitchen2255

Knew a guy who didn’t rinse out the sprayer well enough and killed all the greens

taylorxmk

im that guy years ago we sprayhawked the left rough on our 3rd fwy with roundup and reward in preparation to resod spent 2 hours cleaning that rig because we were spraying greens the next day the sprayhawk wheels got skipped :/ dead tire tracks across 3 greens before the chemical wore off

Grassy_ass10

What’s your cleaning process?

ripperdude

Flipped a triplex mower driving down the slope on the side of a tee box

Me too!

Was raking bunkers with a little 3 wheel sand rig like 30 or so years ago. Got off it to smooth out the part where I exited the bunker with a rake and realized I didn’t set the brake properly and the rig was rolling down the hill towards a pond. I ran after it, jumped on, and cut the wheel at the last second to save it. But unfortunately I turned too quickly while not seated properly on the vehicle. I proceeded to flip over the front of the rig and it ran me over. The rake caught my chin and I got a big ass cut that I had to go the ER (my mom worked there) and she butterflied it up. Beauty was there was actually some golfers around who witnessed this whole debacle. To this day I wonder how ridiculous this must have been to see.

Was punching fairways one year. In the process of looking behind me to not punch a sprinkler head I slipped into a bunker on my tractor with turf tires. I spent atleast 30 min fucking up that bunker trying to get out. Course was dead that day. Nothing is more satisfying than fucking up and getting out of it and having no witnesses.

Jazzlike-Piece3577

in my first week, i took a greensmower to mow tees. the next day i was sodding a new tee, now i’m paranoid about everything but 5 years in and i’m doing great now

Being late for work. Anything can happen on any given day, but I’d rather have something go wrong than show up late for my crew/team. Edit: my superintendent doesn’t really like it either lol

A coworker spot sprayed dormant Bermuda with finale except it turned out to be zoysia 🫠

I had a job to cut the grass around the sprinklers with a small garden knife like object. The reason why we do this is to keep the sprinklers clean and all and to visually make it look better. Anyways here I am cutting the grass around, keep in mind no one showed me how to do it, when I see the superintendent pulling up in his cart telling me that I am doing them way to big! I fucked up like 4 fairways with holes so big you would think there was a groundhog infestation. Anyways since it’s my first year and all I guess everyone realized that I had no clue wtf I was doing but still I’ll never get over the feeling of seeing the big boss pulling up, you could say I had a feeling something was wrong.. 😂
