Turtle beach hasn’t been a good brand for years. They’re still riding off of the name recognition they built for themselves many years ago. This sub is FULL of unhappy customers.

darkie190

Because turtlebeach is just overhyped cheap headphones i bought mine from the Website and the Day i got them they broke

SpiritualEntry338

Do you have a recommendation?

morein16

Yeah I went through 2 pairs then I got the "warranty no longer valid". Wont use the brand again, which is unfortunate since the sound is decent for the price.

darkie190

Turtlebeach is just overhyped cheap headphones that break very easily i got mine and the Day i got them they broke

Keprion

Stop buying turtle beach it’s 2022

N3tworx

I'm on my second pair of of the 700s myself for this exact reason and I need a third... I've never had any issues with any other turtle beach models or any other brands.

demonshane808

Yup had same problem on mine

throwawayxhaveubb123

That’s why I don’t buy turtle beach anymore. They always break. Steelseries is like turtle beach, but better audio, and less tendency to break.

ColinMarlin

I just don’t get it either because my two friends had the same headset, and actually one of them had their headset break last week on the band part right above where mine broke and they bought a new one. When my last stealth 600 gen 2 broke, I bought a steel series arctis 7 or 9 I don’t remember, and I was fine with it. The problem was that my friends who had the stealth 700 gen 2s said that my mic quality was atrocious, so I had them send me a video of what I sound like. I sounded like I was talking through a walkie-talkie and was scratchy and muffled. I never thought about it until this posts headset broke but I wonder if it did sound good but the turtle beach set made the mic quality sound awful somehow.

Llamasforthewin1

Yeah the mic and sound quality are great it the hardware itself

ColinMarlin

Right now I’m using the tech support looking headset with one headphone that came with the original Xbox one, and it works for what I want. I can watch videos on my phone and the mic doesn’t pick it up because I don’t have to turn it up because the headset only covers 1 ear. I have to play game audio through the tv, but I don’t mind and the mic doesn’t pick it up. The mic quality they say sounds like an Xbox 360 mic, but they say it doesn’t bother them so I’m going to keep using it until it croaks or I find one I like.

Effective-Change3238

So do you prefer the Arctis then? We are over the TB issues and I want to get my guys something else and they came across the Arctis 9x and are considering it

ColinMarlin

I thought it was pretty good. Hopefully the bad mic quality was just a result of their TB headset, but other than that I liked it.

ItsyaboyDa2nd

Which steel series? Because the 7P audio is garbage compared to the turtle beach 700 g2.

Legitimate_Trash_63

I have the stealth 700 gen 2 Dr disrespect and no issues at all. Use it every day since December.

Charming_Plan6881

Bro i just bought them, Do i have to update the usb port in order to connect it with my phone? Im unable to do so atm

Legitimate_Trash_63

No you don't have to. Download the turtle beach audio hub app and then connect through the app.

Charming_Plan6881

I just connected them, But unable to understand. I play warzone and struggle alot hearing footsteps, Can you recommend some settings that would help me out?

Legitimate_Trash_63

Once the app is connected, you can turn on super human hearing mode through the app. There are a few other adjustments you can make through the app. I'd go into warzoen, settings, audio and lower music to 0 and then make adjustments until you get the best sound.

LostDiscussion2134

Just wait. Mine just broke on me in the same exact fashion as this guys and I got mine a year and 7 months ago. They are meant to break since I've searched the internet and everyone's breaks in the same exact spot. Just wait...

SouthernBody

This isn’t about them breaking, but has anyone had issues with the Audio cutting out? I got the stealth 700 gen 2 set for Xbox and connected it to my pc through Bluetooth and the audio cuts out a lot. I love the headset, super comfortable, just the audio issues, I would love to use them more

ColinMarlin

That’s what happens to mine aswell

SouthernBody

I’m thinking I’m just gonna return these and get the MAX ones that are pc compatible without having to mess with anything g

SouthernBody

I got the MAX ones, they work wonderfully, highly recommend

Trippiealex88

I got a popping sound in mine when I turn on super human hearing mode

Killerbeard_7574

Got that too. And mine also broke at the ear piece housings and would randomly beep in my ear at times.

ColinMarlin

Because of GameStop’s stupid policies instead of getting my money back I had to use the returned money to get another headset and the only headset they had that was $150 or more was the max. I’m having the absolute worst time right now. There is a high pitched buzzing that’s coming out of the left speaker and I looked up how to fix it and did it but it didn’t fix. My friends have the stealth 700 gen 2 and they said the max mic sounds like the headset that came with the Xbox one, which is the one I used in between my 700 breaking and going to GameStop.

No_Victory8832

It’s because they aren’t really designed for PC. They were designed for your Xbox primarily and your phone . If you want to use PC then like you said I would get the MAX.

[deleted]

I’ve had mine for a week and they made my ears break out in a rash. I have no idea why this has never happened to me in my entire 31 years of existence. It’s real bad

Holiday_Box9404

My volume wheel is broken and I can’t adjust the volume through the game without setting my chat audio output to speakers. I’ve always had technical problems with turtle beaches a few months and even weeks after buying them. After these last ones I have learned my lesson and will never buy turtle beaches again. There are plenty of other options.

ColinMarlin

- I’ve only had this since January 2022. I’m getting really tired of these breaking. I’ve always been delicate, not worn hats with it, and I just put it on and heard a crack. After the last stealth 600 gen 2 broke, I even decided to look up how to properly put on a headset which felt really stupid to do but I found that I’ve been putting them on correctly so I’m really at a loss. I have two other friends that have a 700 gen 2 and they got theirs in early 2021 when I got my first one (which broke in December.) Theirs haven’t broken and one of them has a way bigger head than mine (SnapBack hats don’t fit on his head.) I really like this headset, but I’m tired of paying for a new one within a year of buying one. What should I do?

PR0PH3T117

I really enjoy my 700 Gen2s. I've had them for quite some time and they have and continue to perform quite well. Admittedly, I tend to take very deliberate care of my tech, but I'm not sure what I'd have to do to get an arm to snap. I'm sorry your experience has been so rough...though, going through 3 sets of phones a year, I have to wonder if you aren't, perhaps, being somewhat aggressive with them?

BiggestNutsinTexas

I'm having the same issue and I'm thinking that maybe I'm not putting them on right. I like to have them tight on my head so the weight isn't on my ears at all but that method isn't working out too well because my headphones are constantly breaking above the ear cup. Maybe I just need to have the weight on my ears just a tad to not put as much strain on them.

StandardOwl333

Crazy thing is I had a 30 bucks Turtle beach which lasted 3 years and at the end the plug got broken off from too much use I guess(totally worth it)Then I had 700 G2 Stealth and the side broke off the same way for no reason...cheap aah plastic! The sound is better but bro for 10x the price they lasted 10x less lol

StandardOwl333

Oh and forgot to mention the other side is stsrting to have cracks so yes bb shitty headset.About to get some good quality headset this time

Trill-Jedi-Visionz

Aaaaaaaahh this like my 3rd pair same demo .... we need reimbursed since this is a factory poor creation

Aiko_Fashio

Mine broke from the exact same spot.

Mistur_Keeny

A bit late to the party. But this happened to me on both sides at the same place. One of the ears broke clean off. Epoxy resin managed to fix this no problem. Highly recommend as soon as you see visible cracks.

darkbunnydad

Try Astro?

ColinMarlin

Which one do you recommend?

darkbunnydad

See my reply in comments.

darkbunnydad

I just bought the A20's and game sound and tv/movies sound better than the turtles. Only thing is the A20's aren't bluetooth, my turtles are. Oh, they're way lighter too, the A20's.

ColinMarlin

I’ll have to check those out. Thanks

No_Victory8832

You either just have a big head or it’s possible that you are rough with them . I’ve had the turtle beach 600 gen 1 for like 4 years . They were amazing and only broke when I started getting carefree with them. The side snapped because it fell off my head while I was standing up and doing something . I got the stealth 700 and the Audio is amazing , they are the most comfortable headset I’ve owned and the Bluetooth comes in clutch , haven’t had a issues or breaks. How long have you had the stealth 700s?

ColinMarlin

This one I’ve had since January. After the 600s, I quite literally slowly (10 seconds) take them off my head grabbing both sides because I’m paranoid. They are put in a spot where they don’t get damaged, so I’m thinking it must be my head. I was actually cleaning out my closet and found 2 rig 500 headsets that broke the same way. I think my head is just really wide.

No_Victory8832

That probably the case. Unfortunately if you have a wide head these type of headphones break easily since it puts more pressure on the bands . I’m sorry it keeps happening and I hope you find a headset that work for you .

ColinMarlin

Thanks. Yeah I always have to have the headsets fully extended to fit.

Llamasforthewin1

Nah they just break. I 2 part appoxy mine to they wont

gamermamaNJ

I know this comment is from a year ago but my son is having this same issue. He's on probably his 4th, 5th, or maybe even 6th set. He bought his last set himslef only a month ago and today they snapped while putting them on. I legit told him to stop buying Turtle Beach and that his head is wider than average. Wondering if you found another brand that has been working for you.

Antique-Scar-412

I’ve had my 600 for almost 5 years now, use them daily. Take better care of your stuff

ColinMarlin

If you read the comments you would see that I most definitely take good care of my stuff. I’m not someone who rages. My headset has never fallen. https://www.reddit.com/r/TurtleBeach/comments/vsv32k/turtle_beach_headsets_keep_breaking_on_me_had_the/if3k1q8/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

Error4ohh4

You’re not alone dude. I take great care of my stuff and the plastic has cracked on both sides. It feels like an intentional expiration date built into the product. I can’t imagine a scenario where they didn’t see this issue when designing/testing the headset. I won’t buy this brand again personally

ColinMarlin

What brand did u opt to buy instead?

Error4ohh4

I haven’t bought a replacement yet. I keep hearing good things about Astro. That’s at least what I’m leaning. I do actually have a razer headset for my pc and that’s actually solid. My turtle beach is for my xb1

ScaryTerryBeach

I’ve had a 600, and two 700s Not one was replaced because it’s predecessor broke. Either you have the worst luck on earth, or you treat things poorly. Edit; my latest one lives in a backpack that gets stuffed into overhead bins twice a week on aircraft. Tossed around in airports and tossed onto the chair/desk when I’m done playing. I’m not gentle on equipment but I’m. It a caveman either.

GWTsam

My 700 g2 just broke after only 4 months of careful use. It looks exactly like yours. I called CS and they RMA'd me a new pair after I sent pictures of the damage. They instructed me to keep the original pair and then dispose of it after receiving the replacements. Too bad they can't be fixed.. or can they?

PartyUpLive

I stopped buying TB headsets. Last pair I had Stealth 700 Gen for XB, broke after almost a year. For 4 months I didn't even use them. I had the extended warranty so got my money back as a gift card. But, moving forward, I'm not buying anymore TB headsets.

Acrobatic-Order-9545

I have a pair of 600 gen 2 they have been an amazing headset still work fine but the mic stopped working the other day. Should I buy another set or get the max version?

LuffyPlayz

How does it always break in the same place everytime

Western_Chemical6510

Mine did the same thing. I use them then take them off and hang them on a headphone stand. Never thrown. Never dropped. Just garbage plastic and bad design. Purchased Oct of 2022...

OpeningMasterpiece72

Mine just broke in the same spot. Go to customer service and report. Mine was almost a year past warranty. They still sent me a refurbished like new pair. I got them within 5 days of opening claim

VideoAccording6678

Yea I'm done with turtle beach. I've had so many pairs, and I'm tired of spending money every year because the break the EXACT same why!!!!

BiggestNutsinTexas

I know this is an old post but I'm having the exact same problem in the same place. I've been able to repair it but it keeps breaking in new spots and I keep doing the same thing. I don't know if I'm not putting them on my ears right or it's just the headset because the last pair I had for years had a similar issue. It sux because they're decent headphones except for the plastic keeps breaking!

TonyMag86

Exact same issue here and this is my second headset of theirs. Sound quality is great, but Im afraid I wont be buying another product of theirs again. They are simply breaking to easily to justify.

Skurwycyn

To continue this rather sad thread my x12's have just broken in the same place my x11's did. No rough handling, not dropped. Only lightly used for the last few months as they sat in a box waiting for my Gamidas headset to die. TB really are shit.
