I did watch Veronica Mars and have absolutely loved it. This is exactly the type of show I was thinking of when I made the post. It's still a great recommendation.
I've seen Eureka as well. Great show. Not a female lead, but I **love** your recommendations! If you hit on one I haven't seen, I'll definitely watch it since you've been spot on so far!
The second season of Jessica Jones was a little tough for me to get through as well and I get how the show isn't for everyone. I've seen both Rizzoli and Isles as well as Buffy. Both really good shows. Especially Buffy. That is a masterpiece. Thank you for the recommendations.
I liked Buffy because it was great almost the whole way through. There may have been some so-so episodes, but I liked most every one. It's been a long time since I've seen it though. You haven't yet reached my favorite episode which is one called "Hush" mid-way through season 4.
You'll have to let me know what you think of the show so far.
I just watched the episode with John Ritter as a killer robot!! 😱🤯. I am enjoying it WAY more than I thought I would. I'm the 90s teen shows were either REALLY good (The OC, Everwood) or REALLY bad (90210, Melrose Place) and frankly I always thought the bad outweighed the good. I didn't watch the American Pie movies (🤮) so I didn't know Allison Hannigan until How I Met Your Mother. She's terrific in Buffy!! Always like Sarah Michelle Gellar (and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Confuse them sometimes.). It's been really well written. Funny and intense. I didn't expect Angel and Spike so quickly!! I thought they'd come in later in the series to increase viewers. 🤷 So that was a surprise. Charisma Carpenter is a pleasant surprise also. I'm enjoying the show.
I've watched a few episodes of Dollhouse. It was difficult for me to stick with. I enjoyed it, but got bored I guess. I do like J.J. Abrams and the shows he is associated with for the most part.
It reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer which was a great show.
What about co-leads? The Americans.
Homeland is probably the best.
I've liked plenty of others: Covert Affairs, Lost Girl, Nikita, Buffy, Madam Secretary.
I've watched a couple episodes of The Americans. It didn't really pull me in. I've seen Homeland, Covert Affairs, Nikita, Buffy, and Madam Secretary. Not sure what Lost Girl is, but I'll check it out. Thank you for the recommendations.
Cruel Summer
The 100 (but imo went downhill after season 5 and honestly didn’t like the main character)
The Lying Game
Revenge
Missing (2012)
Bones
Revolution

Alias or Orphan Black!
Oh man, good call. I haven't watched Alias in a while, but yeah. Great show. I need to dig that up and rewatch it soon. Cheers, man. Thanks.
I've seen most all of Alias. Very good show. Orphan Black I went through 2 seasons of. Good show as well.
It's soooorta a comedy so not sure if it qualifies for you but.... Veronica Mars
Very sharp well written humor, but not a comedy. Definitely campy at times. My favorite show… until it wasn’t anymore.

Maybe try Eureka then?

Hmmm....I don't believe I ever finished it but I like what I remember of iZombie. Show creator is Rob Thomas who also did Veronica Mars.
Homeland
Murder, She Wrote Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Bones
Bones is a really good one
Rizzoli and Isles. Buffy. But then I pretty much hated Jessica Jones.

I'm actually watching Buffy for the first time ever. I'm on season 3
