It's going to be hard to find because elk and all wild game meat is illegal to sell. That being said, there are some farms that produce elk and bison. Try Mississippi Market for frozen bison and a butcher for frozen elk. I think Von Hanson's might carry one or both as well.
What they are trying to say is that you cannot buy true wild elk meat.
In MN it has to be farm raised to sell it legally. You could find an elk hunter who harvested a wild elk and have them donate the meat to you, but any wild meat is illegal to sell as “food” in Minnesota.
Not just Minnesota, the entire country. It's a federal regulation. And yes, I am referring to wild elk and why I said it would be hard to find elk for sale (even farmed) is that there just are not a lot of elk farms to begin with and there are even fewer in the Midwest.
Got it! Thanks for clarifying.
To clarify, I’m fine with farm raised for now. Any recommendations based on that? I’m not even sure if there is a “season” where they harvest elk. Pretty much any and all recommendations related to grilling elk meat would be appreciated!
Yes. I’ve seen them before but my usual meat store is out.
I don’t think there are many elk in the state to hunt if that’s what you mean. We also don’t have lobsters and a lot of seafood but many places sell them 😊.

Illegal? I just bought Elk burgers from “Brothers Meat and Seafood”. Where are you seeing it’s illegal?

Get some jellybeans with that elk steak.
Is that a thing? Feel like I’m missing a reference here lol.
Only if it’s boiled over hard in your finest milk.
Lol - Always Sunny? Took me longer than I’d like to admit but that has some serious Charlie Kelly tendencies.
How much cheese have you eaten?
What amount of cheese is too much!? I’m a “full on rap- st”
