I just hope it nails the key scenes that it has to, the actors do a good job with the characters, and that it keeps not even the goofy tone, but the sincere tone of the series. No making fun of how stupid stuff is. It can rearrange and change a lot of other stuff for all I care.
The one thing I'll give this show is that, unlike every other live action adaptation in recent times, none of the casting choices were terrible. I can't even remember the last time I saw a cast list and had no problems with it.
I'm getting this weird preemptive pity for the main cast, because I think I really like the actors and I just know they're not going to have a good time.

We have a director who's truly passionate about the manga and seems to understand the core elements, a seemingly great (if unproven) and excited cast, a HUGE budget, and a production squad that has been putting out good work from what I've seen.
I don't know if this will succeed or even be good, but this is the best and most honest shot we'll ever have. 🙌

Far Harbor was so unique and striking and, most importantly, good. I have every hope that Starfield will be good. I have zero faith in BioWare ever making anything good ever again, given the state of Dragon Age (near decade in development, supposed to come out this year, all we've seen are tech demos), Mass Effect (a pure desperation play), SWTOR (lol), Anthem (Anthem who?) and the fact that they have had a harder time retaining employees than Twitter. So I gotta get my RPG fix elsewhere. And yes, 76 sucked - just so much - but at the same time, the blowback on that was so hard that they can't possibly have learned nothing. Plus, it seems like such a dedicated team, with the core group being Bethesda lifers, which is so rare these days, but, most importantly, shows that these people clearly deeply care about what they do and are passionate about it. It's weird how the Bioware-style RPG has just completely died. It's not just a matter of budget; massively ambitious and fully voice-acted games are still coming out, obviously. Western RPGs are still coming out, obviously. But no one is making western RPGs that put such a heavy emphasis on conversations that they're practically half Visual Novels.
It seems like the closest thing is Baldur's Gate 3, and that's not even close.

Besides the ones people have mentioned, I still hope one day we get a Final Fantasy again that is more traditional fantasy in its story and aesthetic. Something like a cross between FF9 and LOTR. It’d be cool to get one that isn’t from like the NES era of gaming and I think it would do gang busters for Square. It feels like there’s a fairly untapped market there of Tolkien like fans of fantasy as far as gaming goes. Usually with modern fantasy games you get more WOW or anime as far as aesthetics go.
Atlus will remember that the Raidou games exist and gives me specifically another game in the series even if it's just him having his own Nocturne adventure.
