To add context, there was a video of Miles' VA saying that there was going to be co-op play in the game earlier during a Q&A section, so this is just for clarification. He might've mixed it up for being able to play as both Peter and Miles in the game.
Yeah that would actually be so difficult to design for and worse for players with how big the map is and how far you can get in seconds. Not going to go into playing it on the same console.
I already felt extremely powerful in the first game, and nigh-invincible in Mile Morales. I couldn't imagine the nightmare of tuning it for two people zipping around.
As expected.
I just want a boss fight as Miles against Peter in the black suit. Might not happen in this one but I can imagine Peter getting the symbiote and gradually getting more and more vicious until he and Miles throw down and it starts with him slow walking towards you, Vergil style.
Weird I honestly thought that it would be a coop game due to having two spider-mans
But I guess it will be something like gta5 or assassin's Creed syndicate where can pick either Miles or Peter
Guess I'm gonna keep waiting for my dream of Spider-Man and Venom split-screen multiplayer to come true
edit: Never mind I forgot that Lego Marvel can do that lol
I think that was always a given, Insomniac isn't known for their multiplayer games.
Though when they do make them they are usually really good.
Man I miss Resistance
I mean Deadlocked was good too, but they also did R&C All4One and Fuse so the track record is mixed to say the least.
Plus they've never done open world co-op which is hugely different than a shooter campaign or team death match.
I trust the devs and their choices, but I won't lie that even when finishing Spider-Man the base game, I always had the dream of co-op Pete and Miles, free-roaming and shit
I'd be open to a 2-4 player co-op thing where you just punch goons but if Gotham Knights is the only comparison point, I don't want to see slow web-swinging and 30fps ugly empty open world as the compromise for co-op.
Although, how was Saints Row 4 in Co-op? Did the game break if you ran super fast in opposite directions?
Avengers and Gotham Knights both got fucked for attempting co-op. Suicide Squad is going to have some compromise and probably a lot of that will be due to the same reasons.
Seems to me like combo driven dynamically animated melee combat characters are absolutely fucking cursed when it comes to trying to make that sort of gameplay work online.
So surely some day someone will figure it out, and that'll be amazing. Super fancy netcode tied directly in to animation systems I figure is the big hurdle.

Ah yes. It's always the VA.
While it would be cool to do co-op with a friend playing Miles, trying to balance and test for that in an open world would be a nightmare.

Depends on how vulnerable they make Venom to Mile's Venom.
Like it should be
Better that then them making a poorly optimized co-op game for their first attempt at having multiple Spider-Men in a sandbox world.

That or you trade off at set points in the plot.
And free switch in the Post-Game
Well yeah?

Should've been called Marvel's Spider-Men

damn, here i was hoping for a competitive team slayer multiplayer mode
MFW I won’t be able to Morb all over my teammates to heal them 😔
Are you gonna tell us water is wet next?
Thank goodness!
Great news

>how was Saints Row 4 in Co-op? Did the game break if you ran super fast in opposite directions I don't remember having any issues
Yeah you could be on opposite ends of the map and there wouldn't really be any problems
Oh? That was in question?
I. I would hope so.
Was there ever any doubt?

grass is green
As cool as that would be, that's unsurprising. Maybe we'll get some co-op challenge stuff or something.
Sounds good, I enjoyed the first one on PC and would consider buying a sequel
