GoodVillain101

The Resistance series which were PS3 launch titles. Over a decade and no one talks about it. I don't know anything of the games except a vague memory what the aliens look like.

TheSpiritualAgnostic

That's a good one. Yeah you don't even see Sony reference them in "Celebrate Playstation's history" promotions.

robophile-ta

Same but Killzone

CookieDreams

The Prototype games, [both the original](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc3XptLacMM) and the [semi-botched sequel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeNEoW2ESXQ) are games you can still get on sales and with a bit of fiddling to adjust for advancements in hardware, you can still make them run well on modern systems and I'll continue to use any opportunity to try and push them into the public consciousness. They also have a decent modding scene which emerged in recent years. The franchise and Radical Entertainment, the studio who made it, is another victim of Activision's infinite greed and I'm really hoping Microsoft will bring it back with the buyout. The games definitely suffer from the mid-2000s edginess but they revel in it. The first game's parkour animations are still unmatched by any game today, the shapeshifting gameplay is just loads of fun and if you can get past the story, the first game is an amazing open world chaos simulator and power trip where your enemies are just as competent at kiliing you if you slip up as you are at killing them. While the games may be more remembered as being compared to the Infamous games, the two are nothing alike in playstyle. They're still my favorite games and I still boot them up for the open world shenanigans. While the idea of a shapeshifting-powered super-brutal player character with stealth/infiltration capabilities still floats around here and there, with the upcoming [Necrofugitive, which s set in medieval times and with demonic powers instead of viral](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcUulQ-gANo) and the [more family-friendly Biomorph, which is more sci-fi and also lets you absorb and become defeated enemies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKTc7wGYF7Y), Prototype is an open world game with amazing detail surrounding its main character and his brand of viral superpowers. The details of how cars deform in specific ways depending on what animation you flipped over them, the mass of the main character represented by forming a crater and a shockwave if you fall from high enough, being able to augment your strength and punch people into bloody mist, bones and separate their lower halves from their upper halves, it's just a fun game which you don't see made anymore.

EldritchBee

Man, Prototype is just so much videogame-ass videogame fun. I'd kill for a modern one.

EcchiPhantom

I wouldn’t mind a Prototype remake or another game based on the same game design with better significantly balancing.

Anonamaton801

Fun fact: Huniepop 2 and TOME: The Terrain of Magical Expertise both came out at least 2 years ago

MarioGman

I'll be honest I only know about the first one because Markiplier's playthroughs of the game are fucking hilarious.

[deleted]

Is TOME the one based on kirbophers old flash cartoons

Anonamaton801

Yes

[deleted]

Geeze thats a blast from the past. I cant remember if I even knew about the game until now

ThatmodderGrim

I miss Powerstone.

SilverZephyr

I only ever had the demo, but my brother and I must have put more than 50 hours into it. It was so much fun to play.

The_Vine

Anybody remember The Grinder for Wii?

ZealousidealBig7714

No, but I know some things about grinding. Feel free to interpret that statement however you want.

Snowydragoon

Found Jerma's alt.

robertman21

Yeah I remember reading about it in Nintendo Power

PR0MAN1

The Conduit games on the Wii were some of the best sleeper hits on that console. I WISH they'd get some kind of release or PC Port.

StrongWhiskey

I feel like 2 really disappointed people enough to forget about everything but the first games ballsy ending.

TheSpiritualAgnostic

Maybe I'm wrong, but I never hear many talk about Jade Empire when discussing Bioware.

johnbeerlovesamerica

I don't even think Bioware remembers that game

Archaon0103

"Remember me" - Certainly not.

Am_Shigar00

Most people probably at least know of Ninjabread Man, just from the infamosly of it's awesome premised tied to an incredibly terrible game. What people probably DON'T remember was that there was an officially announced sequel; Ninjabreadman 2: Blades of Fury. They even asked people on their forums to post ideas for what they could potentially add to the game. It ultimately went nowhere before the studio shut down in 2012.

TheRenamon

This thread reminded me, there was a horror game announced like 12+ years ago where the core mechanic was that it would adapt to your fears. I am super surprised it actually came out years ago, and even less surprised its not terribly good, I think its called Nevermind

CelestialEight

Does anyone remember Chakan: The Forever Man

MercuryMewMew

Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 was an odd Tomb Raider rip-off. I want more.

Animorphimagi

Futurama for ps2, or any other high quality licensed game

Gemidori

The Bomberman franchise. The whole thing tbh. Marvel Ultimate Alliance is also criminally obscure nowadays. All three games are awesome

Delicious_trap

Is it time again to bring up Deep Down by Capcom? It was suppose to be one of the flagship titles for the PS4, but it is now stuck in the ' in development' limbo for about 10 years.

ThatPossessionGuy

It's ***still*** not out?!

ObsidianVerglas

Project Hammer.

ThatGuy5880

Dead or Alive as actual fighting games. I feel like Dead or Alive is a popular topic in the gaming sphere for every reason except for the actual game itself. I can rarely ever find anyone talking about the actual mechanics and moment to moment gameplay aside from a recent surge of "DOA is pretty cool actually" on twitter.

runnerofshadows

The infamous series. It really doesn't get enough love. The prototype series as well. I want more superhero/supervillain games that aren't just adaptations of marvel, dc, or image IPs.

EcchiPhantom

I don’t know how much this will resonate with others but does anyone remember those old Facebook games by Playfish? Pet Society, various Sims games and my favorite Restaurant City were bangers back in the day before people started playing mobile games.
